I love sunrise at the beach!!! Your pictures are beautiful and really capture that peaceful, easy feeling...

That is one of the reasons I prefer a vacation on a beach to a cruise. On a resort vacation, you can actually get out to the beach at the crack of dawn or late at night, and you don't have to rely on a tender to get you to and from where your room is.

The turtle tracks are totally cool! It is really encouraging to see so many nests and to see them being protected.

We’ve now come to our last morning at Vero Beach. Saturday, June 23rd. One of Judy’s “must do’s” for this portion of the trip was to walk on the beach at sunrise. Because I’m such a loving and supportive husband, I agreed to accompany her…although she was probably smart and asked me earlier in the trip. If she’d have asked me as I was waking up that morning, it probably would’ve been a tough sell. Anyway, by 6:15am, we were out, taking in the sunrise. (Note – there are no touch-ups or filters on these pictures.)
Nice pictures of the early morning. Great time for a walk on the beach!

Here’s a “false crawl”, where she turned around and headed back to the ocean. It really looks like a machine made these tracks, doesn’t it?

IMG_5878.jpg
That is so cool, and yes, looks like the 4-wheeler made them......

Apparently, I should’ve looked at the bench first.

Sea turtle people - is that a new species? :rotfl:

Those tracts that the turtles make are crazy. Wow - that's some hard work. And what a nest jam up.

So how did you feel after your sunrise walk? Obviously you still needed a second cup of coffee to prevent you from sitting on a wet bench. :rotfl:

Beautiful pictures :) looks like an amazing walk. I remember Florida at dawn, it has a very unique scent and feel to it. I imagine being near the ocean was somewhat different though!

Ah, the wet bench... I've been there.

Nice Trip reporting. ;)

That was very nice of you to get up early so we could have some sunrise pictures to look at. Thank you for sharing.

I never would have guessed a turtle made those tracks.

I am sure the next person who sat on the bench appreciated you drying it off for them.

Looking forward to more. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Wonderful sunrise pictures! And very nice of you to stick to your earlier promise! :thumbsup2

Those turtle tracks are really strange. I would have sworn that this must have been some kind of tractor that caused them!

I really liked your Vero report - but I must say that I am very excited that the WDW part is about to start now! :cool1: Especially because I am expecting a few AKV pictures and I am going to stay there in the spring!!

Those turtle tracks are really big!! Funny that that one turtle chose to have a neighbor for her nest!

I love watching the sunrise over the ocean! Judy had a great idea!

4 Judys

Ooh, actually I change that to 5 Judys! 5 Judys...final answer.

The Rules Committee agrees....5. :cheer2: I believe that is your first win. Congrats! :thumbsup2

Since MissLiz changed to 5 Judy's, I'm going to stay at 4 Judy's. Even though I think MissLiz is right!

Good strategy, but there's 5.

6 Judy's...........

And no, that is NOT just saying one more hoping I am right.....

Now that I've got that Count impression done, I can comment.

First with the Judy-count, and first to comment....you're on a roll.

I love the turtle tracks! They do look like someone drove a tractor or something around the beach. Funny.

character0268.gif

I love the dawn pictures! Maybe I should try to sucker my DH into a beach walk at dawn sometime. It seems so peaceful.

Thanks!

Just warn him that there might be dew/rain on the benches.

The clearance to that parking area looks a lot smaller than the main building clearance. Do you need to have a Barbie Jeep to fit through?

Something like that...a pedal car maybe. At least I didn't have to think to hard as to whether my van with a cartop carrier on it would fit.

Sitting on a wet bench is something I would totally do. At least it was early enough that you had a chance of it drying before anyone saw it...well, until you posted a picture of your rear on a public forum, but whatever.

Oh yeah. Maybe I should've thought that through. Well, you're here to laugh with me, right???

The sunrise is so pretty!

Now that I've done it, I can check it off the list. ;)

I should drag Geoff out of bed one morning so we can do that. I'm sure he'll be thrilled with the idea

I recommend getting agreement ahead of time!

Very true. Although on a cruise, you want to sleep in because you're still full from the midnight buffet the night before. Judy didn't prepare any such midnight buffet. :confused3 :rotfl2:

The turtle tracks are totally cool! It is really encouraging to see so many nests and to see them being protected.

I don't remember the numbers, but I think they told us at the turtle presentations that they saw higher numbers of nestings the summer before, and we were on pace to pass that this summer. So yes, it seems to be very encouraging. :goodvibes

Looks nice! Too bad it was so cloudy.

Here’s a “false crawl”, where she turned around and headed back to the ocean. It really looks like a machine made these tracks, doesn’t it?

It really does! You wouldn't expect animal tracks to be so uniform.

This was kind of funny. This turtle volunteer guy was trying to mark this new nest, but it was right on top of an existing one. I said something to him about it and he said, “yeah, she’s got the whole beach and she picks this spot, right on top of another nest!” It was a bit of a challenge for him to mark.

Kind of like when the guy walks into the men's room and chooses the urinal right next to you. :rotfl::rotfl2:

A mess of nests! They must like this spot.

Maybe the Vero Beach Resort boiler room is under there?:confused3

Judy paused to take a picture of these flowers. While she did that, I sat down on a bench.

Apparently, I should’ve looked at the bench first.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I took a picture of the covering over “Peter Pan’s” tunnel. This entrance to the resort is just to the right of this picture. Behind the fencing along the left side of the picture, is the ramp that we walked down to get to the tunnel.

Is this for Cynthia's benefit? :rotfl:

Nice pictures of the early morning. Great time for a walk on the beach!

I guess we were still a few minutes late for the rope-drop show. :rolleyes2

That is so cool, and yes, looks like the 4-wheeler made them......

Another reason to get out there early, because I hadn't seen any earlier in the week. They get washed away or stepped on.

You always like a laugh at my expense. Glad I could provide one.

So how did you feel after your sunrise walk? Obviously you still needed a second cup of coffee to prevent you from sitting on a wet bench. :rotfl:

I thought I felt okay, but I guess I was still a little bit dazed because I did not notice the raindrops on that bench at all. They're pretty prominent in the picture though. Oh well.

Beautiful pictures :) looks like an amazing walk. I remember Florida at dawn, it has a very unique scent and feel to it.

Let me guess, your room was near a dumpster wasn't it.

I imagine being near the ocean was somewhat different though!

Yes, it was amazing to just be able to wake up and look at the ocean from your balcony or walk out to it....it's right there!

Ah, the wet bench... I've been there.

I don't think I would've guessed it either if I hadn't been to the turtle presentatons earlier in the trip.

I am sure the next person who sat on the bench appreciated you drying it off for them.

Thanks Magdalene. I'm glad you enjoyed them.

Those turtle tracks are really strange. I would have sworn that this must have been some kind of tractor that caused them!

All those hatchlings will have a little play-date.

I love watching the sunrise over the ocean! Judy had a great idea!

She did. I'm glad I went!

Good planning. As Seinfeld points out, Morning Guy always gets the shaft from Night Guy.

Right. Now Morning Guy has overslept so many times that Daytime Guy has lost his job and Night Guy has no money to go out anymore!

Looks nice! Too bad it was so cloudy.

I think we should've stayed a few more weeks until I got the perfect picture. ;)

It really does! You wouldn't expect animal tracks to be so uniform.

Nature's Sherman tank.

Kind of like when the guy walks into the men's room and chooses the urinal right next to you. :rotfl::rotfl2:

Maybe the Vero Beach Resort boiler room is under there?:confused3

Maybe. It'd make a nice little incubator.

Laugh it up fuzzball.

Is this for Cynthia's benefit? :rotfl:

Yes. She forgot to take a picture, so I got it from every angle! :rotfl2:

Glenn, beautiful sunrise pictures. I could sit by the water and watch the sunrise every day.

Too funny that so many turtles go to the same area.

My favorite picture of the group...

I said something to him about it and he said, “yeah, she’s got the whole beach and she picks this spot, right on top of another nest!” It was a bit of a challenge for him to mark.
So apparently, sea turtles don't understand the concept of marking their territory.

While she did that, I sat down on a bench.

Apparently, I should’ve looked at the bench first.
Here's the question... When you felt the dampness did you just roll your eyes, shrug it off and make yourself comfortable, or did you shoot off the bench like it was electrified and look around to make sure nobody was around to see you? :confused3 :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I guess that’s better? :confused3
It's green. :confused3

Up next: Where are Poppy and Gram?!
Uh oh. I hope you explained ME well enough. :rolleyes1

The stars must have been aligned yesterday because I got a point! (Or I'm stuck at work and it's really boring because it's a holiday week and there's nobody here) Woo HOOO!

Of course we are ALL laughing with you, Glenn.

good sunrise walk with the misses, way to get up early for her.:thumbsup2

i though you were goingto say you had some "coffee on the veranda" this morning...

im sure you were just getting the dew off the seat so judy could sit down.:flower3:
