Any rumor when 2014 dates come out?

I haven't been through the whole thread, but am curious how does DCL handle the Gold/Platinum booking advantage? We just turned Gold and was wondering if they send out emails, or how has it worked in the past. Also, what happens if you are using a TA?

Scott

You'll probably find out the "scoop" here first. If you're using a travel agent, just tell him/her what you want and have them book it for you. When the new bookings open, DCL is so busy, it's simpler and faster to have a TA take care of it.

Unless DCL is sailing somewhere brand new, bookings are open to everyone the first day, regardless of castaway cay status.

Disagree..

A TA will have multiple reservations to transfer over. They'll be able to do one at a time. If you are the last one on that list, then it could take some time. Also, not sure if they can do these chances online - I think they have to call in. So more delays until they pick up. And if the TA doesn't start working until 9am, you have another hour delayed.

If you handle the reservation yourself you can start handling at zero time. Even if your call in, you will be the first on the list once you get thru DCL.

That's probably why it's best to go with a disney cruise expert, I'm sure they know that calls after 8am don't get their clients the rates or cabins that they want.

IF you don't mind taking half a day off work to sit on hold.

Travel agents have access that the public doesn't.
Mine has extra early access, like an hour or so before the public.

I posted a couple pages back....does anyone know the time of day that they actually allow you to start booking when they do release the new dates?

8 am Eastern.

We already have a booking for October, 2013 but know we will need to push it back. We are waiting for 2014 dates to be released. Soooo when they are released we should be able to transfer our existing reservation and amount paid to whatever new price for the 2014 date we choose, right? I feel like I've asked this before. I must just be super paranoid about it.

Mine does too, and I so love not having to wait on that phone. PLUS, over the years I've had many friends who waited as much as 3-4 hours only to have their calls dropped and they had to start over!

I just had my TA move my cruise next year to November since my final payment was due early February. Since we're not getting any solid word on when this is going to happen, I figured I'd better play it safe. Plus I got some of my deposit back cause it's a cheaper cruise ;)

Is this correct? Wording on the website regarding the benefit "could" be interpreted that way, but looking for other input.

It's my understanding that the early booking dates are only available for new itineraries. So, if DCL comes up with the same stuff they've always done, the bookings open for everyone the same day.

You are correct.

Can you book online opening day or do you have to call? I see people saying they have to wait on hold on the phone for hours. Can it not be done online? :confused3
