LOSE BEFORE YOU CRUISE - Support Thread for all Cruisers

Do you all mind if I join in? We have a cruise scheduled for June and I want to use it as motivation to get back in my smaller clothes and be the healthiest I can be!!!

WELCOME to the group! pixiedust:

Yesterday, I ran 8K race - 56 minutes. I am a pretty consistent 7 minute KM/hr. Today, I hit the gym and I am exhausted. Having problems with the food. I need to record everything going into my mouth.

I regularly donate blood but today they just couldn't get me to bleed right. Long story short after almost an hour they called it and I felt cruddy and lightheaded, so I way overate this afternoon.
:(
Back at it as of now!

I am on the Fantasy in Aug. I started my "figure enhancement program" in June and have lost 26 pounds by just dieting. The reason I am doing this is so I will not be "that woman" in the bathing suit that everyone talks about. I have not worn a bathing suit in YEARS!

OMG! I just made Chicken Enchilada Soup from the "Healthy Meals for Hurried Families" cookbook. It is delicious! And there will be leftovers! You will need to let me know if you don't want me to post the recipies . . . but if you do try any that I post, let us know what you think!

Chicken Enghilada Soup

Ingredients
1/4 cup butter
1 large onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup flour
4 (14 oz) cans low sodium chicken broth
1 (4oz) can green chilies
3 cups cooked chicken, diced (can use canned premium white meat chicken)
8 corn tortillas, cut into small pieces
1 (8 oz) package light Velveeta shreds
1 (8 oz) container light sour cream

Directions :stir:
1. In large Dutch oven, melt butter. Add onion and garlic; saute until translucent. Add flour to make a paste; cook for 1 minute.
2. Add chicken broth and green chilies; cook and stir until thickened.
3. Stir in chicken, tortillas, and shredded cheese. Cook over low heat until cheese is melted and tortillas soften.
4. Stir in sour cream. Warm through, but do not boil.
Makes 8 servings

I lost control today - hamburger for lunch, lots of chips after curling and then chocolate cake when I got home from curling. I have not done anything close to this since December 2011. I am not sure why I lost control. No more food tonight, and I will start recording my food tomorrow.

Are you choosing to eat "everything in moderation" or are you depriving yourself? I find that if I allow myself to have small amounts of treats regularly as long as they fit in my calorie allowance, then I'm less likely to lose control and have w binge day.

Don't get discouraged! You're on track, and you can start fresh starting right now. You've been doing really well up until now. Don't beat yourself up!

On a personal note, I went to the Chinese buffet with my mom today. I tried to choose mostly veggies but snuck a chicken wing and some sweet and sour in there...it was after a good run though and I wa overestimated the calories in my counter so I think I'm still on track...just keep thinking of CC sand between my toes!

Happy Monday! I hope that everyone had a good weekend.
I am starting Medifast today. I have spoken with my "coach" and mapped out a plan for the next few days. It is pretty exciting to think that I still have 19 weeks until my cruise, and I am starting to get exciting about the vision forming in my head of a healthier me. I have broken my goals up into manageable bits and very specific strategies. I just pulled up the menus for the 3 restaurants we have ADRs for for our next disney trip - 2 1/2 weeks away! There are choices at each of them that look great fot this program, and I have already eaten at all 3 in the past, so I don't feel l like I am missing anything by making the healthiest choice (as opposed to the food i really want).
I had hoped to be a little furher along in my new program by the next Dis trip, but we had a very sad loss in the family leading to 4 days out of town for the wake, etc... Not the best time to begin a new plan! I am definately in this for the long haul and for permanent change, so starting now is the best choice.
I hope that everyone on the board is doing well with their continued success. I continue to gain inspiration for every poster here!:cheer2:

Great work out today. For my American weight loss buddies, remember portion control over Thanksgiving.

That and an early morning jog are in my plans for thanksgiving! Can't wait for pumpkin pie! I'm down 16 lbs now!

We leave for our cruise this Sunday! I'm happy to say that I met my cruise weightloss goal and was able to buy new clothes in sizes Medium, size 8 Jeggings, and even one size 6 dress! Hopefully I don't come back to far from my curret weight, since I'm only 5 lbs away frome my Ultimate Goal Weight!

You go,girl!

I am going to be remeasured on Wednesday . . . I don't expect any change on weight officially, since I've kept an eye on that . . . but I am hoping for a reduction in total inches.

Excellent! Hmmm, I would have been leaving on Sunday with you, if I would not have changed cruises. Have fun and remember everything in moderation, and you will be getting to your ultimate goal.

I loss 1.5lbs this week. I am back in the game. If I can do that for the next two weeks, I will be 7 lbs from the top of my weight wish and 17 lbs from my ultimate weight. I need to remember to record, and stop snacking after supper that has been my down fall over the past few weeks. Every time I go to open that cupboard after supper, I will think of each of you, and that I will have to report into you next week on my success of not taking anything out and the pounds are down again. I can do it.

Just signed up for weight watchers Today. I have about 30lbs I would like to lose and not find again. Hopefully I can be ready for our cruise next November.

I went and got measured at the fitness center this morning. I lost inches on the waist, thigh, and chest. Gained a little on the upper/lower arm, hip, and calf. I figure the arm/calf thing was muscle, cause there's no jiggle there . . . but, overall lost 1.8"! Weight went up a little, but she said that's water, since it's stayed within 4 pounds. She is going to meet with me on a monthly basis, to help me stay motivated, etc. and to give tips, etc. My goal is to lose 2 pounds by next month meeting.

As I said on Tuesday, I am back in the game. I have been a little down about my effort in losing weight since September. My problem has been not recording my food, or closely looking at my weight loss. I really worked at it this week, and I went back and summarized my weight loss, and I am down 8.5 lbs since Sept. and the start of a competition at my gym. I am definitely not going to win a prize from the gym, but I am getting closer and closer to my goal. I would love to lose another 8.5 lbs before my cruise in 2 weeks, but we all know that is not reasonable. I will strive for two lbs. a week which will bring me to a total of 59 lbs. Wow! Then to do my best on the cruise to maintain. I have started writing out my fitness program for the cruise because I know by the end of two weeks, I am sure my will power will break down around food.

Thanks to everyone for your support. We are all going to have up and downs in our journey. Let's strive for those weight loss downs. Pretty soon I will be able to go back to Weight Watchers and not have to pay because I will be within my weight range. Only 8.5 lbs to go.
