Pin codes

I received 35% off or free dining on 10/9 for some late winter and late
summer dates - we are holding out hoping for Fall 2013 PINs

I took the chance and called to see if we had a pin code associated with our name. Behold, DH had one tied to his name. (how he got one is beyond me because everything we have ever done or booked has been in my name... oh well - as long as we got one that is all that matters.)

Anyway, we got a code for 25% off for RO rates for next August. (For the AKL)

Can someone answer this for me.... Is the discount tied to which hotel and time of year? I see others mentioning 30-35% discounts, but I wonder for which hotels those are and at what time of year.

I did get an email with a pin code, but when I put in our info for hotel, and the travel dates, I still only got the same 25% from when I called.

I'll keep checking back, and I'm hoping that the closer we get to next summer, the will offer a better discount on the room rates.

OR, I'm keeping my fingers crossed as we bought AP's this year and I've seen that they sometimes offer better rates for AP's than the general public. (although that is not guaranteed)

Are they called PIN's? I called Disney and the lady acted like I had 2 heads..when I asked if there was any associated with either my husbands or my name..lol :/

That's how I asked for and got it on the phone *shrug*. Maybe you had a new person.

Funny/odd PIN story. In 2003, my wife booked a trip to DL for her boss for a trade show, and, for some reason, he wanted everything sent to her as well; they had no office, as it was either work from home or go to a client's office. Later, he needed her to go, so we made a family vacation out of it. At that point, however, there were no more rooms in the DL Hotel, so we stayed at the Holiday Inn across I-5 from DL.

Fast forward to 2009. We got a PIN code in the mail... for her old boss!

Got mine in the mail today!! 30% off of room or free dining!!

We used the free dining and saved $354 dollars!!

Funny part is that I had booked my trip (Feb 7-12th) and was thrilled to get the stay play & dine special. Two hours later I go out to get the mail and there is the pin in my mailbox!! I called them and it only took 10 minutes to change over to the free dining!! YAY!!:cool1:

Mine is for 1/2- 3/24 & 4/21- 5/22/13

So they are out there!

I received one too, I was out of town for work and my husband sent me a photo of it, but he cut off the resorts. in the photo. Is it for all deluxe resorts? Would love to know so I don't have to wait to get home to look!

New here.. :) I am confused as to how you get the "pins". I did apply for the Visa and was instantly approved, so do the pins come with the card? Or is this a random thing? Do I need to sign up somewhere?
Thanks so much for your help, this is one overwhelming process! :upsidedow

We traveled to Disneyland 7 years ago and have not gone since and we have decided to go to Disneyworld in May 2013. Now I did request a travel planning kit like 2 years ago and am going to attemp to request a new kit since we are for sure going, and never got to go until now. I just booked airfare for May23-June 1 to Orlando....what is the number to call and see if there is a code attached to our name? Should/ could there be?

Could someone please explain to me what a pin code is? and where/how you can get one? do you have to sign up for something? Thanks :)

When you get these "PIN" codes via email/mail, what does it look like? Who does the email/mail come from and does it clearly let you know that its a PIN number?

Emails come from Disney Destinations typically. Mail comes like a postcard.

It usually is worded as a a special with prices and on the bottom or so it'll say something like, 'don't forget your pin 2342309234.'

All of them are different but that at least lets you know what to look for.

Quick question....are PIN codes only given out to those people who have been to Disney before? I called to see if there were any associated with my name and the lady asked if I had ever been to disney before. When I told her no, she told me that I wouldnt have any PINs associated with my name? Any one else with this experience?

That's not necessarily true.

No one knows the rhyme or reason behind getting a pin. But, if you create an account on the Disney website and fiddle with it, order DVDs and such, you'd have a chance.

You just have to be in their system to have a chance. But again, who knows what criteria they look for when shooting out pins :confused3

We live in Florida. Last year my mom and dad both came to visit from Pennsylvania on two separate occasions. We did stay at the resorts with them. They are always calling me up and saying " I got a postcard from Disney " with codes on them. I am guessing Disney got their info from our reservations.

I called and had a QSD pin valid Jan 1 through the end of March! Time to sit down and do the math to see if the public room discount is a better deal.

I've been thinking about this and I wondered if anyone else has or has tried this and been successful.

I called a few months ago and we had a PIN tied to our name for 25% off for our trip this summer. So we changed our reservations to reflect this discount.

Should I call back and again find out if any new PINS have been associated with our names. Could there be a different discount available for us that might be better than the one we have? I assume that the PIN #'s eventually expire and they assign new ones, right? If not, I still have at least the 25% which is better than nothing, but additional would always be appreciated! :)

I figured it probably couldn't hurt.... right?

I booked a trip for my entire family in 2009. Now I receive PIN's all the time but they are addressed to my father with my e-mail and home address. Can I use a PIN that is not under my name?
