Update 12/4:

We just booked our room at SoG! We decided to go ahead and book 2 standard rooms, as it was basically the same cost as the Family Jr Suite, and would offer DH and I more comfort (not having to sleep on pull out beds!)

We did request a portable crib - does anyone have a picture of a room w/a portable crib in it? Is it a standard size crib mattress? I'm thinking of bringing some sheets from home - both for Disney whimsy (her nursery is Mickey themed), and to help DD adapt to the new surroundings.

Also - we arrive at MCO at 4:10. We're thinking of stopping at a grocery store real quick on the way to the hotel. Would we be able to make a dinner reservation at Poly (Kona) for 6:30 and make it there by then? (We're renting a car)

----
I am looking to plan a trip for my family to WDW in March, and we'll be staying at Shades of Green.

We will have an infant with us for the first time (8 months at the time), and will likely need to be heating up water to warm bottles of expressed BM in the morning. I realize microwaves aren't standard in SoG rooms, but is it possible to request one?

ETA: I thought of an additional question. The trip is going to consist of DH and I and our daughter, and my parents. WE're looking at booking either 2 standard rooms at SoG, or a Family Suite. Does anyone know what the Family JR suite is? It's listed on their room rates, but it's not defined on the Suites page under Guest amenities. The rate for the Family jr Suite is about teh same as 2 standard rooms would be for us, so we're trying to decide which would be best. I'm leaning to the two separate rooms at this point.

Oh - one more question also. If we got 2 separate rooms, is it possible to get them adjoining?

When we stayed there, we just ran water thru the coffee pot and then sat the bottle in the coffee pot which was full of hot water to heat up!! (Since you cant use a microwave on BM anyway that wasnt an option for us!)

Well, yeah, i would be using the microwave to heat the water to warm the BM in (I know microwave + BM = not an option :) )

I had thought about the coffeemaker, but wasn't sure how well it would work...but if it works well, then I can just do that!

We were just there in September - there are a couple of microwaves in the laundry room, if that helps you! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! We were there for 9 days.

I believe you can request adjoining rooms and I think that would be better than a suite...not sure what family suite is at SOG but most places it means a separate bedroom vs living room, which is probably not ideal for 4 adults and 1 infant...

One piece of advice - definitely request a crib when you get there...they have cribs and pack plays....the cribs were great...we fit it right next to the entry door - it was pretty private and it was hard for her o see us....(and easy or us o hang out on the deck the few times we were awake and she was sleep)

There are two types of suites, the ones that sleep 8 and the ones that sleep 6. I would guess the ones that sleep 6 are the "Junior" suites.

When we would go we always brought along our bottle warmer from home. Not sure if you have one. They used to be fairly cheap and they also sold travel ones. Although the coffee maker sounds OK

Can't help with SOG, but your flight and dinner reservations are cutting it pretty close. The drive from the airport to the property alone is about 30 minutes.

If you're flight lands at 4:10 you probably won't get off for 10 or 15 minutes, and then you have to head down and go through getting a rental car. I don't think there is any way to get to the grocery store, to SOG, checked in, to your room and then to the Poly that quickly unless you're really rushing through it all (and with kids... sometimes it's not up to you! lol). And that's if everything is right on time!

I'd push your reservation back if you can just to be safe.

Hmm...it's been a while since I've been to WDW, and I didn't realize it was 30 mins from MCO to the resort just driving. Would a 7pm reservation at Kona be doable? I don't want to push it back too far, so we're back at the hotel in time for DD to go to sleep, but I don't want to be too rushed either.

Are you getting anything perishable? If you could keep the groceries in your car IF time is getting cut close, I'd go for that.

As long as everything is on time (flight, car rental) and doesn't give you a big hold up, I think you'd be okay with that if you didn't take your time and take in the scenery lol. It's IF something is running behind where you'll hit an issue.

Rush hour traffic may come into play....

It's really going to be up to you. But knowing that it's about 30 minutes to WDW from the airport will at least help you figure out what you're comfortable with.

You may want to look into ordering groceries from the Garden Grocer or Walmart for delivery if that would help the time crunch as well and depending upon how much you'll be getting.
