What did you think? I loved it. I do love history which is why I wanted to see it but the acting was great IMO.

What did you think?

I haven't seen it yet, but will probably go next weekend. I LOVE history (esp. the Civil War period) so I'm really looking forward to it. :)

It looks fantastic.

Have you read the book Killing Lincoln? If not, I highly recommend it. It's written by Bill O'Reilly but it is not politically slanted at all. He use to be a history professor. Very fascinating book.

My husband and I are going sometime this week since he has the week off. I'm anxious to hear reviews, so those who are going please let us know what you thought.

Thanks for the recommendation, I always get dh a book for Christmas and this sounds like it would be good.

I just saw Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter the other night

I have not. I prefer not to put any money in Bill O'Reiley's pockets. ;)

I know what you mean, but it really is a fantastic book. I'm getting ready to read Killing Kennedy.

I'm hoping to see the movie. I know it's not anything my husband would be interested in so I'll either see it alone or wait for it to come out on DVD. I too love anything civil war related.

I saw it yesterday with a friend. We both enjoyed it. Halfway through the movie some guy a few rows away started snoring. At the end of the movie everyone applauded.

It was a nice change that there weren't any children in the theater.

First, as I said in my op. I thought the acting itself was awesome. I saw skyfall last week and while I thought it was an enjoyable movie, you know the acting is not engrossing. ;)
Daniel day lewis and David strathairn are great. Sally field was very good also.

I also enjoyed how the really "humanized" Lincoln. He's so "mythical". They really show his humorist side which I had read he had.

Lastly, if diffently made me laugh at politics today. Man if you thought now was rough, Talk about negative politics those guys seriously knew how to insult one another. ;)

I can't wait to see it! I love the civil war period! I've been reading a ton of books written from that era. I would like to read that Killing Lincoln book. I just wish Bill O'Reilly didn't write it!

I heard Sally Field say that this was a role of a lifetime for her. She pretty much stalked Steven Spielburg! I guess he didn't want to cast her originally. I adore her!

If it's any consolation it was co-wrote with Martin Dugard. I was the same way, but I am so so glad I read it.

DH and I saw it yesterday. It was incredibly moving. I tears in my eyes at times. Highly recommend it!!

I've been looking forward to this movie, so I'm really glad to see that you all who've seen it enjoyed it.

What do you think about it for a 10 year old? My daughter loves history, it's her favorite subject and Lincoln is her favorite president. She has been asking me to take her to see it.

We brought our 11 & 13 year old to it. Quite a bit of bad language (my DD said it was the first time she heard someone say **** in a movie). It was a great movie, I don't think the language stood out too much to the kids because it was such a great story. I might not have brought them had I known they would say that word so much.

Thank you. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to take her to see it. I'll have a discussion with her about the language before we go.
