November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

First day was a blast!

We checked in at 10am. Because we used online check in the process took mere minutes. The room wasn't ready but they gave us the keys and told me they would text me when it was ready.

We walked all of AoA. It's a beautiful resort. It doesn't scream "value" to me at all. Great for the kids.

We got into the room, went swimming, came back and showered and then went to DTD. Left there and went to a friend's restaurant in Orlando.

Back at the room now enjoying hot chocolate and Irish cream. Looking forward to a full night rest and Epcot in the morning!

well we are back. we had a fantasticly awesome time. Dh is hooked and cant wait to go again. I will prob be starting my trip report now that i am back at work and have nothing to research lol. Hope everyone who has gone had an awesome time and everyone that is getting ready to go has a fabulous vacation.

So glad you had a good time. Thats great your Dh got hooked. It makes planning easier when they are on board.

We are here! We had a blast last night at MVMCP! It was an awesome time.
We got to the partk right at 4 and were able to watch the castle show, ride tomorrowland Race track, mad tea party, dumbo and see Minnie and Daisy before heading down Main Street to get in line for Santa before the party started. We ate dinner in line. Saw Santa, Saw the Princesses/Prince. We got cocoa and cookies. Then we rode Buzz 3 times, the People Mover 1x. We watched the Tomorrowland Christmas Show, Rode Buzz again. Then we watched the Fireworks, the Castle Christmas show and the 2nd parade. After the parade we got a snack, rode Peter Pan and the carousel and then left the park.

It was a lot of fun. We saw all the shows, saw the characters we wanted to see and rode some rides. What more could you ask for?

Sounds like you did a lot of things and had a blast. So exciting! I have been trying to figure out the timing to do the fireworks, castle show and 2nd parade without having to find different spots for all three.

We will be going thru security with a liquid antibiotic now. I had to take DD to the doctor yesterday. She has double ear infection. Just how we want to get started...at least we found out before we left. This gives her time to get the meds in and working. The plane ride would have been horrible for her. We leave Wednesday after we pick her up from school to head to the airport for the night. We can't wait.

Today she had the pinewood derby and bake-off. Her car got stuck on the track the first time down. It made it down the next time. She did get 2nd place for the bake-off with the orange-cranberry cookies with orange glaze she made.

Sorry about the ear infection. I hope she feels better soon.
Congrats on winning 2nd place in the bake-off!

we did not stake out any of them in advance. We found a spot for the fireworks in front of the Plaza about 5 minutes before the fireworks started. Then we moved down to the Castle Stage for the show. We were about 6 or 7 rows back on the right hand side. THe girls were able to stay in their stroller and were able to see everything perfectly.

Then we walked to Frontierland and watched the parade between Country Bear Jamboree and The Shooting Gallery. We walked up 2 minutes before the parade stopped. There was one couple in front of us sitting on the curb. Again the girls sat in their stroller and my husband and I stood behind them. We had a perfect unobstructed view of the parade from there.

Final countdown...

Everyone is packed, except last minute items
Boys still have no clue

And as Murphy's law would deem necessary one came one Pukey from school fri. We are officially 12 hours vomit free and if my older son plays his cards right I will let him out of his bubble before we board ;) j/k
Of course because of that I forgot to get other sons homework to work on during the drive.... Uuugh

Total anxiety about this trip. Feel like I am on pins and needles.
The weather alone is driving me nuts. Being from the Midwest 73 can be tanks and shorts or long pants depending... So if anyone needs extra clothes next week I'm sure I can help!

What if they don't have fun... What if it isn't as magical as last time....

Awww hope he feels better. The first trip we took to disney world my daughter started throwing up less than 12 hours to go and all the first day in the car. It made for an interesting trip to say the least.

Wow the homework they give you when you take a week off. We are starting it this weekend and working on it as much as we can before we leave. We will still have to do the reading while there and write it down. She has to read 20 min a day. I figure she can do that in the room while we get ready.

Hope you have a wonderful trip and lots of pixiedust:pixiedust:.

5 days to go! Both of my girls have been coughing like crazy. If they still are by tomorrow, they are both going to the doctor just in case. My oldest is doing all of her schoolwork for the week were will be gone. It can't get here soon enough! I just hope and pray that we are all nice and healthy come Friday morning!

I've been MIA this weekend, the DSL has been down....:furious:

you are going to have a great time! When we went in December 2 years ago, we got away with jackets and shorts the whole time. And trust me, they will have fun!:thumbsup2 However, as the anal-overplanner in my family - be sure to take the time for YOU to have fun too! ::yes::

Congrats on the 2nd place for the bake off!:thumbsup2 Love that she participates in the pinewood derby!

I'm glad she's getting meds for the ear infections and hopefully by the time you go, she'll be so much better. Have a wonderful trip!:yay:

Love the online check in! We're going to be at Pop and will definitely take the time to check out AoA. That's where we were first booked, but when I changed our dates, there were no LM rooms available. Glad you're enjoying it!

Today was a beautiful non-crowded day at EPCOT. We had a great time exploring the World Showcase.

Gotta love the low crowd levels! :woohoo:

Take a deep breath...let it out. Now relax! Everyone will have a fantastic time! Guaranteed. Will everything go exactly according to plan? No. Will there be a disappointment or two over the course of the trip? Probably. But, all in all, there will be so much right about your trip, that won't matter.

I think it's smart to pack for all contingencies. That's one less thing to stress about. Good for you!:thumbsup2 And just so you know, I'm invoking the no puking this close to your Disney trip rule so nobody else succumbs! Glad your son feels better. Have a great trip!:cheer2:

Aggh!!! What is with all the sick kids? We will be at the airport in less than 12 hours and ds woke up with a fever and nasty cough this morning. He is 2 so I can only give him the all natural stuff and it just isn't cutting it. I am hoping he feels better tomorrow otherwise it is going to be one hell of a flight!

Wow I thought it was just us!! DS was fine first day. 2nd day he had 102 fever, today 103!!!! No other symptoms except chills here and there. I feel so bad for him. Thank goodness our first week is our hang out week, but I Feel so bad for DD cause she wants to go out and about. Luckily we have so much to do on property and me and DH have been taking turns doing things with her. Wednesday is breakfast at Chef Mickeys and my DS LOVES Mickey. I'll be so upset if he is too sick to go or just not into it. Will be crossing my fingers he is better. Hoping we will see MKs fireworks tonight from our resort. If not, I'm sure we'll hear them lol

Hope everyone else's sick kiddos are better soon!!!

Thank you so much for the info. Its great you didn't have to stake out a spot hours before each event. Thats what I was afraid of and I couldn't figure out how to see all 3.

Glad your epcot weather was nice and you had another great day!

My youngest too, I'm thinking about sneaking in a sick visit this week, just hate to miss more school! Everything looks clear colored at least at this point....

I hope your youngest feels better soon.

First park day has been wrapped up.

Today we hit Epcot. I don't recall why we planned this first but my wife and kids had never been there before and I had only limited experiences here so today we went.

It didn't go exactly as planned, but in the end turned out pretty good. The kids were a bit off most of the day, with little interest in participating in things at times. We had to coax them into taking pictures with the scenery but they were all about seeing the characters. They did enjoy the rides and Innoventions but getting between everything was a little bit of a struggle.

The early morning Soarin FastPass rush was a bit nuts. FP was worth it though as the wait started at about 45 minutes and was as high as 120 minutes later in the day.

Crowds were high until lunch and the place cleared out. We walked on or nearly walked on pretty much everything after that.

DD1 went with me on Mission:Space. She was excited before we went but wound up not liking the orange side.

We went to France to see Belle but we got there too late. The CM had already cut off the line. DD2 had a meltdown since that was her favorite princess. The CM told Belle and she made it a point to come over and take pictures and give her a hug as she was leaving. Completely unneeded but great experience.

Later on we went to the character spot at the end of the night just before illuminations and saw Minnie, Mickey and Pluto. They were a riot. The place was empty so the PP photogs were encouraging DD2 to dance and play with all three of them at once. We had a good 15 minute or so session with them all. They took at least 50 pictures of the whole thing! They said hands down that DD2 was the most adorable kid of the day. It warms my heart to hear that. (We all think our kids are cute but great to hear it from someone else, especially when they were a bit of a terror during the day)

Ate at Les Chefs de France and Electric Umbrella. Both pretty good although neither was quick.

Driving was nice vs taking the bus and dealing with the crowds.

Tomorrow is Magic Kingdom!

We had another nice but very long day today at Hollywood Studios.

The crowds are definately starting to pick up, but I find that Hollywood Studios always feels more crowded than it is. We still managed to ride TSMM 4x's, Ride the RnRC, Ride the Great Movie Ride. Watch Lights Motor Action, Muppets and the Pixar Pals Parade. Experience the new Pirate's Attaction. Eat Lunch at 50's Prime Time, see a few characters, play on the playground and see the Osborne Lights.

It was a long day. Gates opened right around 8:30 this morning. We had our FP and were off TSM by 9am.

Oh, I hope your little one is feeling better each day! That is terrible. But I'm glad you've got lots of time there, so hopefully he'll be at full speed for most of your trip. Prayers coming your way!:goodvibes

So glad you got a bit of pixie dust from Belle. And from Mickey, Minnie and Pluto. You got a lot done and it sounds like most of it was really fun. Les Chefs is rarely quick, but I love eating there. I really appreciate you taking the time to update us. It's almost like being there!:thumbsup2

Thank you and Thank you Disney Mom!!!

Today his temp is 101.1. Still something lingering in his system. Thank goodness no runny nose or cough. Dr. told us to give him one more day and if it doesn't go away to find a pediatrician down here.

We were going to go resort hopping today to see all the trees and gingerbread houses. I guess we will have to play it by ear.

Hope you are all doing well! Hope everyone down here is enjoying themselves!!!

Squirrel - happy to hear everything worked out at Epcot! That's great Belle gave your daughter personal attention! She must have loved it! Enjoy the rest of your trip!

OOOh, what did you think if the pirates attraction? Worth a wait in line?

well we are back. we had a fantasticly awesome time. Dh is hooked and cant wait to go again. I will prob be starting my trip report now that i am back at work and have nothing to research lol. Hope everyone who has gone had an awesome time and everyone that is getting ready to go has a fabulous vacation.

My H is hooked, too! I told him I wanted to take the older girls by myself next December to celebrate their birthdays and he looked all sad and said "Can I come too?"

For a man who wasn't at all interested in going, I think he's done a total 360 -- he can't wait to go back!

I'm glad you had a great trip!
