Still have to catch up later - running to my parents - well not in a literal sense. :rotfl2:

running to my parents - well not in a literal sense. :rotfl2:

:scratchin

My house will be full again soon  Seth comes home sometime today, Nate late Tues or Wed. oy. I need to go grocery shopping! ::yes::

I also need to pull out my half marathon training schedule and see just how far off track I am! :faint:

Ah! That's lovely.

The boys I mean. ;)

Nancy! How was/is Cheaper by the Dozen? She's a good mom? :lmao: So funny to think. :goodvibes

I'm back but not caught up at all! Just started a TR this morning, so not many pics up yet, but I'm working through them and editing them all! We had a fabulous time! LOVE AKL, I must find a way to live there now. I never wanted to leave the balcony!

Yeah. I'm coming on over Karen. :goodvibes

I'm behind on so many TRs. I must get myself in order. :moped:

Hi Ladies!

I'm home. I have power. I just don't have it in me. Know what I mean? Comprehending things is too much for me now. I'm just cruising.

Lisa, you are right. I needed that cry. I went back to school on Friday and it was great. Em goes back on Tuesday. Those kids have been out over TWO weeks. Going to school felt like normal again. Like life. If that makes sense.

Today I went to the Y and did a yoga class. I have registered for the Princess but the idea of going there and doing that seems like a life away. Like something I once did. But now isn't part of me.

I know some of this is the hurricane and some is losing my mom. It's both.

Love to you Liz.

Update us when you have time. I still want my Universal TR.

Oh it's a part of you Liz. You're a marathoner and ever better - a feisty little fighter. :goodvibes

I'm in a MUCH better place right now. Certainly not financially :crazy2: but if *I* am not fine, all the money in the world won't matter ;)[/B][/COLOR]

:rotfl::rotfl:

Well, the idea of me running in costume is crazy. I can't wear a hat. Or sunglasses. Even a shirt with SLEEVES absolutely KILLS me. Erika says that if they would let me, I'd run naked :scared: I'm not *that* bad, but nothing extra.ever. This costume is going to be the death of me I swear :crazy2:

We were super lucky in both storms. Both were coastal storms, and I'm far enough inland that we had no real issues at all this time.

On the first - happy to hear.

On the second - running nude.:rotfl2: Makes me remember Erika saying years ago that her parents were so incredibly supportive that they would be behind her even if she decided to run through town nude. :lmao:

And to the test for Nathan - remember they had me do that partially nude stress test. The things one does for others. Ridiculous. Laughing.

Meg, I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt, but glad she's doing ok! Yes, I think it makes a huge difference when people exercise and are taking care of themselves and something like this happens. I hope 2013 is fantastic for you...a good year usually follows a crappy one, right?!

Sorry about the race, do you mean you had to stand there waiting for 45 minutes for an obstacle? That's insane. It's too bad some people got hurt, they should find a way to have a standard that has to be followed and you had no way of knowing!

I'm here, things just settled down and are about to get crazy with Thanksgiving. I will keep reminding myself as it gets busier and busier heading into next week that the insane hours, driving, and work is going to pay for a little mother/daughter trip for Savannah & I in February! I'm pretty sure my house is going to fall apart in the meantime though. Rey will help, so that's good!

Yeah for busy Ms. business owner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: Yeah for you and Savannah. You can't just drop that and not give us the goods.

Meg- so sorry to hear about your aunt. And I thank you for the tough mudder advice. I am going to get one of those cameras. I fear Everest the most. After that the taller set of Berlin Walls. Otherwise I think I'm good to go. I am excitedly nervous. :)

I had an crappy mud run in in October. Questionable obstacles ( like 3 of them I refused to do because they looked unsafe.) and our 5 mile run ended up being 8 because they had crappy course monitors. :/

I will be off my workouts all next week. :/ Saturday we leave for 3 nights at vero, then 3 nights at AOA lion king. My kids will get 5 nights at AOA as they will stay on with my parents after I leave to go back to work. I plan on some runs and some push ups and stuff in the room.

Not looking good for a loss this week, but given that we have had 2 holiday dinners at work, I'm happy with maintaining.

Lisa- yay for the loss!!!

Thanks Amy. Hope you're having a ball. Are you seeing Erika at Vero? Where are you seeing her?

So rational on the maintaining for this time period.

Can't wait to hear about your race.

Meg Seriously! How much can one girl take? Here's to a MUCH happier 2013!

Lisa - WOOT! Nice loss! I'm struggling significantly. The workouts are getting back to where I want them, I've pretty much given up alcohol again (I had several drinks last Saturday night at a party however) - but the FOOD! Holy sugar batman. Halloween candy. Birthday cake. Brownies. Ice cream. :scared1:

I had a nice talk with Megan yesterday. (the girl I've been working with while Erin is out on maternity leave) We decided that I need to focus on what's going on with the noon-4pm portion of my day because that's when it tends to fall apart. <sigh> Tracking. It's all in the tracking.

Karen - so, where are you going on this lovely mother-daughter trip? :confused3

Amy -Vero & Disney :yay: Fun, fun, fun! Which race do you have coming up? Is it one of the Spartan series? or a Tough Mudder?

Lisa doesn't like the no alcohol. Waaaaaaah. :3dglasses ;) Edit: Yeah I just saw the drinks at the party!!!!!! Yeah. I know that doesn't look supportive at all. Laughing. But it is. I know you like a drink. And parties and drinks mix well. Smiling. Broadly.

Megan! Erin has a twin? Oh no.

And speaking of Megan the trainer....

Megan! I meant how is your personal training going? As in you wanting to be a personal trainer not your workouts. :surfweb:

Jo! You know that everything can change on a dime. In that, we all have moments of being frustrated with it all and then it can change so quickly. So :lovestruc to you.

OMG. How could I have forgotten this....

I often take the same bus home from my parents. And usually I miss the down to Toronto partiers because they go earlier. I arrive between 11 and midnight.

Last night was hysterical. First this drunk out of their minds foursome gets on and the driver is threatening them left right and centre right away.

They were hysterical. They apologized to me over and over. Asked me if I knew Honey Boo Boo. Asked me if was EXCITED that I was going home. :rotfl2: Like that's exciting. Like my hat. Many times. :lmao: Wanted me to go clubbing with them. Told me one was a quarter Jamaican and half Macedonian. And two or three had Macedonian heritage. And then when I asked them if they were Greek Macedonian or Former Yugoslavian Macedonian one Macedonian says "WHAT?" :rotfl2: What's that? (Bitter with each other with both thinking they *own* all Macedonian land)

And then when I told one of them it was probably their rude patois that got the bus driver going. They found a Jamaican middle aged lady and they started using the rudest language about the bus driver to make her laugh. They go what is it? (It's the Jamaican dialect they were attempting that apparently was their heritage :rotfl:). Where are your ancestors from Lisa? You're blond  (that just about sent me into terror! Blond?) so are you German. No. Are you Scandinavian? No. Lisa what are you? You're blond.

Stop saying that drunk people. :scared1:

Lisa, I'm drinking lemonade. :rotfl2: You MUST have some. :lmao:

An half an hour later. Lisa, my *lemonade* has vodka (*whispered* loudly of course). :rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2: Like that was a secret.

You must have some.

The driver threatened to stop the bus and call the police and have them arrested.

I LOVED the energy and distraction.

Later more clubbers go on. And suddenly there was a sing off.

And it was a Destiny's Child song. Like what were they when those came out? Two? :rotfl2:

Lisa do you know that fat black girl named Princess at the downtown McDonald's? :rotfl2:

Like there's one McDonald's and I know Princess.

No.

We LOVE her.

Why?

Cause she's named Princess and she knows our orders. :rotfl2::rotfl:

So I talked about covers at clubs. Some are $15. I'm obviously old. $15?

And since this was the last bus were they taking the morning bus.

Oh no. We take a cab. :scared1:

What is the price of that?

Oh only $80 or $90. :rotfl2:

But there's four of us Lisa!!!!

Smart.

And then I'm told that last time they came they were kidnapped for two hours. And it was no biggie. :rolleyes1

What a bus ride.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

LISA! Your bus ride reminded me of a crazy nutso late-night bus ride we took at the Princess last year (because it was free. Rather than paying for a cab:confused3). Gosh. Boardwalk to DTD to ? We couldn't get direct to where we were going and spent a good hour or more riding around Disney. Anyway. These two fabulous gay men were on the bus. We called them the Fabulous Beekman Boys :rotfl: They thought we were simply DELIGHTFUL :lmao: Well, I'm not sure if they so much thought we were delightful or if Erika kept telling them we were :rolleyes2

We started singing show tunes with them. They were awesome. We were loud and off key. Oh, the poor driver :drive::rotfl2:

Karen- WHen I'm done here I'm going to finally read about your trip. Things have been so busy I haven't been able to read yet.

Amy- I feared Everest... so bad really. I had visions of falling on my face. Let me tell you I wish I could do it again tomorrow, it's such a rush. There will be plenty of people on the top to help you up. From watching one mistake I notice people make is they stop running, get a good head of steam going and just keep running. My first attempt I missed the person's hand and I slid back down. I'm not sure if it was instinct or what but I actually turned myself around and slid down on my butt. The second time I got ahold of someone's hand and a group of guys held my hands while I pulled myself up. Definitely don't be afraid to try more the once, most people have to. Berlin walls are all about team work when it comes to the tall ones. Brian had to give me a boost on the lower ones but on the tall ones even the tallest guys need help. Also make sure you dangle down the back of the wall before you drop and keep your knees bent as you land. It will help prevent getting hurt. I know you didn't ask for this but these are things I wish someone had told me before I did it!!! I'm so excited for you, it's such a great experience.

Nancy- Say your facebook post about Cheaper by the Dozen and so wished I could see it. Oklahoma is one I haven't seen but I'd love to see. And yay for a full house again.

Lisa- Loved your bus report. It made me laugh. I also worry because I think I've been that person singing off key on public transportation with a group of friends. Have I mentioned I loved going to school in the city? Oh and as for me and trying to become a personal trainer, I'm going to start taking steps after the holidays. There's a class involved, costs and lots of reading. Just doesn't seem like the right time to start it when we're heading into the wedding and holiday season. I have done the research on what steps I need to take though.

So my aunt is at home and resting. She said she's feeling better but she's in a bit of shock. She'd been to the doctors awhile back and had no indication with her cholesterol that she had problems. She's been talking to my dad a good amount because he's been there. I think it's been good for both of them to have someone to talk to.

The rope burns on my legs are still fairly bad. The right leg is starting to feel better, it does look like its healing and its only painful when I've been standing on it for awhile. The left leg is a mess, it still feels like it's on fire most of the time, there are times when it still hurts just to be standing on my leg and the skin around the burn is still very red. I will say that this is very unfortunate but apparently there were a couple of serious injuries in this race and both were related to the race organizers cutting corners. It's very unfortunate. Obstacle races come with a risk factor and those of us that do them understand that but for a race organizer to cut corners and add a hidden risk factor should not happen. If you aren't capable of providing a safe environment for your runners then this isn't the type of race you should be organizing. And the fact that the race organizer keeps deleting comments people make, even reasonable ones, really says something. Sorry I'm getting off my soap box now.

Friday was my birthday. Brian and I started it off by going to the midnight showing of Twilight. Then we spent the day in Maine, came home to go to dinner with my parents, my sister and my niece. Brian got me an amazing chocolate cake with minnie mouse on the top. (I will have to post pictures later because it was a beautiful cake.) My brother was away in the middle of no where in Canada on a trip(the only phones where he was were satellite phones) so he took me out to dinner tonight because he missed it. Oh and an owl arrived at my house letting me know that I was accepted into Hogwarts. Brian bought a stuffed owl that looks like Harry's reproduced the letters first year students receive in books and hid it up in the tree at my house to officially give me my birthday gift of going to Universal Studios.(I will have to share pictures of this too, it was too cute not to.) So all in all it was a pretty great 31st birthday. It was nice to have something to be excited about.

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Megan, I want pics now! Awesome birthday magic! I'm glad your aunt is feeling better and hope your legs feel better soon!

Lisa, I'm rolling here. Good-time bus! :lmao:

Nancy, you have to ASK where Savannah & I are going...on a mother/daughter trip...alone...with no one to slow us down... ;) We're going home, naturally! 4 nights at PoP with free CS, just a quick cheap trip. I found amazing airfare a couple months ago and bought it before the sale was up, non-refundable, so we're headed down Feb. 5th-9th!

I've come a long way from the gal who couldn't get herself or family back to Disney. I think maybe I have to make up for that by going multiple times until I prove to myself that there WILL be a next time.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!

workout done. :thumbsup2 Feast to commence soon :hyper: Hope you all have an absolutely fabulous day :lovestruc

Ran a 5k this morning with a time of 26:35. A very nice way to start my day.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! (And a happy Thursday to Kelly and Lisa.)

Happy thanksgiving to you all!

Lisa - happy Thursday! (This made me laugh out loud when I read it!)

So much to comment on, so much to say, but this is for another day!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Hi to everyone!

I'm sick with the flu. And it's HEAVENLY outside. SO frustrating. Like 60 and sunny. And tomorrow is 50 and then straight down to 30 something.

Crap!

So no WW for me today - what a beautiful thing to come out of the awful flu!!!! :rotfl2::lmao:

I made sure I ate so that I wouldn't weigh in here :goodvibes but honestly feels somewhere around a maintain either small gain or small loss.

I think I'll be holding steady for a bit. One I eat tons of almonds. I've been putting in 6 - when I do track - it's 2. :confused3

And I think I'm at the point where I don't care about losing as much. Am I at goal? Nope. But at that place where I feel fine. So good and bad in that thought.

Plus, I am a person who forever checks if I can do anything for life. And I'm starting to feel like I need to be more loose.

Now that's a line. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I have no idea why I just wrote a novel about nada. :coffee::goodvibes

Hope you're all having a great day.

I will catch up later but Megan - happy to hear that's she's doing okay. And Liz - must be hard day for you but happy you're all together with your family.
