Why is everyone up in arms about Starbucks?

hmm...i don't know...maybe its because i/we spend a lot of money to go to WDW and experience things which are uniquely Disney- not spend a whole lot of money for something most can get in their car and drive five minutes to experience/purchase...

Same can be said about everything in Disney, even Disney merchandise can be found in Walmart, however what tickles most on us is that MSB is being changed, menu is being reduced, why? Why not to keep same menu but adding new things. I know replaced items will be found in other paces in MK but point was to have them there, in one place, esp. when it can be accompanied by great coffee like SB.

::yes::

::yes:: Thats why there was such an outrage.
They made another announcement saying it would still be called "Main Street Bakery". If they would have said that in the first place, there would not have been such an outrage. Their original announcement was poorly worded.

::yes::
Everyone isn't up in arms about it. I think its a great idea.

But please, enough with all the MSB/SB threads :crazy2:

:lmao: :thumbsup2
Really, OP? ANOTHER thread on the sad Starbucks/MSB saga? 'Cause there weren't enough already? Maybe the Search function on your screen is broken? GAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!:headache:

wow, stalk much? :rotfl2:
You read the subject line, you clicked on the thread and read it. You complained when all the discussion on this was in the theme parks board and made a new thread demanding that all MSB talk be moved here to restaurants board. Even after that was done, you still complain about the threads on this subject in this board? You will have to accept that this will be the topic du jour until the next big announcement.

Deal with it.

Another thread about SB??? Really????????????????????????? Was there something wrong with the 50 other threads?

Ok enough about the threads please, this one got moved to Restaurants, we don't have that many here. Yet.

difference is you can't go to Walmart, eat at Liberty Tree Tavern, then watch a Disney parade live then ride splash mountain, etc....

I don't get this, the coffee served there isn't Disney. it's Nescafe. I see guests saying Disney should produce their own coffee. I can't say it would be good coffee if they did that.

There are a lot of food vendors and restaurants at WDW that are operated by third parties on a contract with Disney. This is no different.

and i believe Carnation sponsored CP for the longest time...if they are just offering Starbucks coffee and Starbucks is sponsoring the MSB then i agree- its no big deal...but if they are changing the entire MSB around to make it feel more like Starbucks versus Disney, then people's angst is well founded...

true - it is pretty hard to find a place to get nescafe outside of WDW.

I am ALL for the Starbuck's coffee. What WDW has passed off as coffee is long overdue for change!!! However, I don't want to see a Starbuck's outlet right there on Main Street USA. Why can't they simply leave it as the Main St. Bakery "now serving Starbuck's coffee."....?? My biggest complaint is seeing the NAME of the establishment changed, right there out front. I get that Disney IS corporate branding. But I don't want to walk down Main St. and see a store in the MK that I will see anywhere else. I also get that they are going to make it "fit" the theme and not stand out. But again, I'd rather see the name remain the same and just put the changes inside!!

That's my personal beef with all of this. If they want to put a Starbuck's CART somewhere, fine.....Have at it. Just like the McDonald's one they have or had in World Showcase.

Amen!!!

Really!!?? It bothers you so much that you have to come in and be a jerk?

If you read what I'm asking it's not about the MSB change, rather, about why people (in other threads) are up in arms about Starbucks (the name) being in WDW.

Now go back to searching threads that you can go crap on...

Ok, so I understand many are upset about the changes to MSB. However, as others have said, the theming was rather weak there anyway so I don't really care about that. I like some of the items they sell here but, honestly, if I have to go somewhere else in the park to get what I want, it's really not a big deal to me.

I don't love the idea, but won't complain about being able to get a large Refresh Tazo tea ;)

Can't stand Starbucks coffee though *bleh* I'll take Disney coffee any day....

It is all about the money! If Disney thinks they can make more money off of serving Starbucks, they will do it!! Coffee is very profitable, especially "brand name" coffee.

I'm sure they've done extensive marke research. I doubt they care what any obsessive main street bakery cult follower thinks. Mickey needs his $$!

I don't think it is about Starbucks itself. It seems to be more about WDW replacing the Main Street Bakery. Everyone appears to be upset about that.

That is exactly. Why are they closing the bakery it is the one place that everyone I know heads for when they enter MK.

Besides I can not stand Starbuck' coffee it taste like MUD TAR.:mad:
