Hotel before cruise???

We will be flying into the Orlando-Sanford airport the night before our cruise. We be ariving at 8pm and I am thinking we want a room somewhere inbetween the airport and the port, where should we stay? What would be the best location, right near the airport, somewhere halfway between or right near the port??? I would love suggestions! Thanks.

Last month we stayed at Cocoa Beach, which is about 5 mins from the ship. After a long flight (including a 4-hr delay with our connecting flight) we had car service to the hotel, and were glad to be so close to our destination instead of another "leg" to our pre-cruise journey.

We had enough points to stay for freebie at the Country Inn & Suites, and caught their shuttle bus ($5.00 per person) to the ship. It was fun to look out the hotel window and see the Fantasy.

I liked staying at cocoa beach. We stayed at the double tree it is ocean front and has a restaurant. Very nice. We were maybe 10 minutes from port.

We stay at the Doubletree as well. Nice hotel and close to the port.

I actually ended up booking the Spring Hill Suites a few miles from the airport for only $76.00! Can't beat that including free buffet breakfast. Our flight doesn't arrive until after 8pm so I figured we will just want to get our rental then go to the hotel and head to the port in the morning. Maybe we will stop at the DIS welcome center.

The drive from SFB to Cape Canaveral would be a little over an hour, so it depends on how much of a night owl you are. We flew into SFB this summer and got in about 11 PM. We drover about halfway and stayed at the Holiday Inn in Titusville. There's a Walmart just east at the same exit, so gave me time the next morning to do a quick snack stop.

Looked into all the options and it was cheaper closer to Sanford, thanks for the suggestions though
