59 days!!!

Should I break out the suitcases? Lol

Ha! :-). I'm afraid to do that because of the unpredictable weather! We always go in June into July, so there isn't a question : it WILL be HOT! Lol. Not sure WHAT to expect for January! :-)

I went and looked at the winter outlook and of course it should be taken with a grain of salt but they say January will be below average for temperature in FL. This probably means lower to mid60s for highs. Thats ok with me though, i prefer cooler weather just no rain please!

Congrats for making the final payment!!:dance3::banana::dance3: I'm sure your trip will be truly magical.

We'll be there the 20-27 at AKL! Can't wait to finally stay there! :cool1:

What type of room did you book at the AKL? If you don't mind, let me know what you thought of the resort. For our June trip, we booked the AKL with an Arusha view. It will not only be our first stay there, but our first time even stepping foot into the resort.

Just pool-view this time (would love to upgrade to savannah view, but it's not in the cards this time). And I'll definitely let you know! We ate at Boma in 2007, but haven't been back at all since, so definitely excited to actually stay there.

We're staying in Arusha view at the end of January...we've never been to the resort either so we're excited. I'll admit I'm a little nervous that my expectations are too high. I'm expecting to sit and watch all sorts of animals from our balcony but I'm worried we won't see as many as I think. We'll see!!

I stayed at AKL with a savannah view and it was great. Animals were always in sight.

Thanks for the reassurance! I almost downgraded to POFQ and decided to stay with AKL and my biggest worry is I'll be "let down." I'd hate to pay as much as we are paying and be disappointed. And for us the biggest disappointment would to not see many animals from our balcony.

But it's great to read the positive reviews on Trip Adivsor and other sites and get comments like yours!! :lmao:

Right now, I'm just hoping to see Zebra and Giraffes As long as I see those, I will be happy.

I stayed at AKL with a savannah view and it was great. Animals were always in sight.

My DH keeps calling it the "poopy" view, but from what I read you can't notice a smell at all. What did you think?

We are staying our last two nights at AKL and really splurged with club level. I would be super disappointed if we didn't see animals. I'm trying to figure out what to request since I've read a few things about getting pool view with the club level. I'm not paying that much to not have a savannah view. If that's the case, I would rather do without club level and just book savannah view.

Woot woot, it's so exciting to see other people booked for AKL like us in this thread lately! :thumbsup2

We're 67 days out from out trip and every moment I think I'm done with the planning, something alway scauses it to change. :surfweb: So I thought I'd get some opinions on what we have down so far....please give some feedback!

Hahaha - I didn't even think of that!!

Honestly, I didn't either until he said something about it.

No smells from our view. Lots of action and we saw a baby giraffe! Balconies are very private.

I didn't think people would pay extra, just to not be able to sit on the balcony b/c of a poopy smell. My DH is just paranoid about it, I think. A baby giraffe would be awesome!! They are so cute!!
From what I am reading about the Arusha views, is they warn they are not as private as the other savanna views since it is the main savanna.

No smells. Come on, this is Disney, they do not allow animals to have smelly poop:rotfl:
The 2 visits we were with SV, I definately would not call the balconies private. Here is a couple of photos. The first one is the wooden wall between balconies and the 2nd shows that you can see all the balconies accross and the majority to the left (not pictured).
