Just wondering what everyones opinion is

We are considering the Pop Century or All Star Music, I've never stayed at either one but am going with a group and was just wondering which one you all think is better. All opinions good or bad welcome

thanks

we love POP! Its our fave value. Movies is also a fave of ours. But we always give priority to Pop. I love that it doesnt share buses like All stars do. The pool staff/entertainment are great. Its so much fun. Love the food court. I also love the fact that its now right beside AoA! Very easy to cross over the bridge and look around and maybe even eat at the food court! :thumbsup2

Pop Century for sure! It is newer and doesn't share buses. We have stayed at Pop 3x and All Stars 1x. While A.S. was acceptable, we much prefer Pop. Also, All Stars is starting to show its age but Pop just had a remodel in 2010. It's a fun resort!

All Star Music!!!

Great customer service, buses have been consistently good on our three stays there, the buses don't always share w/ the other All Stars, and a good food court with lots of activities for kids.

Keep in mind that Pop is bigger than the All Stars and it can take longer to get on a bus if you're there during a busy time.

Pop here too......Proximity to AoA's food court is nice for a change (love the tandoori options), tho Pop's is good :) Loved watching the staff (and some of the guests) do the Hustle every evening at 6:00 in the lobby!!!!

Pop!

It is extremely clean in the common areas as well as the rooms. It is such a pleasant place run by very pleasant people who always seem to smile.

IMHO - the All Stars have been neglected & need a little TLC. They are OK, but Pop has them beat by a longshot!

All Stars - report card grade - C
Pop - A - Everywhere an A!

I am trying to decide between pop and AS as well. Food court is a concern. I want options. AS doesn't seem to have as many as pop? Does anyone know if the menu on allears is correct? Part of me leans to AS because it seems smaller and quieter. But part of me leans to pop because the food court seems better and you can easily get to AoA food court too. I've only ever stayed at moderates but money isn't allowing that to happen for this trip. We are a group of 7. 2 adults and 5 kids (and its the first trip for 3 of them) ages 8, 9, 9, 11 & 11. Thanks for your help!!!

Personally if you are going to stay at a value and having kids those ages, ALLSTAR MUSIC is the best. They have the suites which my family loves. The buses are very quick. The main pool is where the kids have the most fun! Always some kind of game going on no matter what time of day. We have stayed at ASMU 4 times. Customer service is incredible there. We have also stayed at the moderates and my daughters 13 and 23 would rather stay at Music...The food court is very good!

I've never stayed at All Stars, but POP is really not big at all and very easy to get around. Also, we ate at the food court often this last trip and never ran out of options. Its also a quick walk to AOA, though we never got to do that. We ran into huge bus lines but there were always 2 waiting and coming back at night we never waited longer than 15 minutes for a bus, even the one night the line was at least 3 busses long.

On our trip in 2011 we stayed at POP and friends stayed as AS. They complained almost daily about the busses both directions while we were fine. I can't speak for AS, but I am very happy with POP and what it has to offer.

Also, doing the twist in the morning put my DS in a great mood and let us figure out breakfast in peace.

I'm gonna have to vote for Pop. We have stayed at ASM and Pop with 2 kids, 2 adults. And at Pop with 11, 6 adults, 5 kids. We liked the food court better, it seems like it isn't as spread out as ASM. The kids loved the activities and pools better at Pop, and we had very little problem with buses.

I also vote for Pop :dance3: I think the food court at Pop is one of the best on property :yay:

Are the AS food courts all the same menu? Is it all burgers, fries and pizza?

No. There is a station with different choices daily. I love the make your own salad (I go for the steak). They have a few choices of carved meats each night. The flank steak is really good. The Italian is decent too. The quesadillas are ok too.

My son adores eating at the food court...so we end up there many nights. I can go the whole week and not go near a burger or pizza. I also usually have them sub grapes or something for fries if I do end up ordering something that comes with fries.

Here's my opinion on this one, go with whichever theme you prefer, whichever is cheaper, or where the rest of the group is staying. Having stayed at both, they are very similar. I see all these Pop lovers on this board and personally, I just don't get it. I haven't stayed at AoA yet but the all stars and Pop to me are identical except slightly different theming. The rooms are the same size, they have all been recently updated (with movies being the most recent late last year). The comment about the all stars being outdated and neglected is just plain silly.

To me, the food courts are very similar. All have pools that play games, all show movies at night. I will also say that the bus sharing at the all stars is very exaggerated on these boards. I personally found that in the early 2000's they shared much more than they do now. Every stay we have had recently they have had their own buses in the mornings and at park closings and only sharing during low times during midday. While Pop has dedicated bus service, it's a large resort and the buses are busy. Dring our last stay there they were always filled to capacity and we left people not able to get on. It happens sometimes.

That's about as honest of a review that I can give from someone who has stayed at all of them and doesn't have much of a preference either way. I have a slight preference toward the all star resorts because of their size, being smaller and easier to manage with movies at the top of my list. I find pop a little large and spread out for my taste but I would certainly stay there if the price was right. It's usually a slight bit more to stay there and I don't want to pay for a preferred room so my most recent value stays have been at the all stars.

Pop! We love it there! I love not sharing buses. My kids get the biggest kick out of telling people that we are staying at P-O-P....POP!

One more reason that we prefer Pop: AS is further away from the parks, except for AK. Pop is still a ways out, but it's close to EP and HS, and seems a bit closer to MK than AS is.
