January 2013

Does anyone know when the 2013 vacation video will be released? I would love to see how they present all the new stuff from 2012. I am hoping if you order a vacation video in December you will get the 2013 video before our January trips?

That was the hope when we picked the date. Penguins are my favorite animal, too! I want to get the ears but I doubt my husband will wear them. We are big Star Wars fans and I have the R2D2 ears with my Mrs. New last name and our date stitched on them.

We are big Star Wars fans as well. Back when our boys were little, my DH went to school on Saturdays. My boys and I would have movie marathons. One weekend it was Star Wars, then Lord of the Rings, and then Harry Potter(what ever was out at the time).

I didn't realize until after we were married, my DH agreed on our wedding date b/c it was easy for him to remember. I thought it would be cool to have a wedding near the 4th of July, and the Saturday before was the 1st. I asked my DH if that was ok, and he excitedly agreed, so we got married 07/01/1995. A year or so later, we were walking though downtown of the town I grew up in for some parade or something. I noticed a painting of Gettysburg, and at the bottom a plaque saying "The Battle of Gettysburg July 1-3 1863". I pointed to the painting and asked if that was why he agreed to the date so quickly. My DH is a huge Civil War buff, and he did agree to that date b/c he knew it would be easy for him to remember.

POR January 27th till February 1st can't wait!! Will be sharing the magic with family for the first time.

Your first family trip....how beyond exciting!! I wish I had known about the DIS before our first trip. Even though, I didn't know as much about planning, beyond booking the trip, it still is the most magical of all our trips.

Hi! Still pretty new to the boards but thought I would pop in on here. We are headed down for our honeymoon Jan 5-17! First 10 nights at POR followed by a big splurge (for us) at AKL club level. It is both of our first trip, we are from the San Francisco area and are Disneyland annual passholders, but planning this trip has taken on a mind of its own. I'm really glad that we waited to go a few months after our wedding (we got married 10-11-12), it would have been too much to plan the wedding and the trip. Can't wait!
Congrats on your recent marriage. I think it was a great idea to plan your honeymoon a few months after your wedding, it gives you something to look forward to after the dust from the wedding settles. All your ADRs look great too.

Thank you! We also both work in some form of retail so it's nice to have something to look forward to after the craziness of the holidays. And I'm glad you think the ADRs look good. I'm getting a but nervous since it was very hard to pick and choose with so many great options. I did switch the Yak and Yeti ADR to a late Ohana dinner.

Hi! I just found this thread!
My DH and I are going January 26th - Feb 2nd. This will be our 7th trip to WDW since our honeymoon in 2005. We are staying at POFQ. We stayed there for two days this past January before our cruise and loved it so we decided to stay there again!

Very true, even if it is also the beginning date for one of the bloodiest battles in US history. ;)

Wow! I just realized that we are heading to Florida in just 47 days!! So excited. We have been so busy that I hadn't started and official countdown! Better yet, because I am a teacher and have Thanksgiving and Winter break coming up, I have only 27 work days before we leave!!!! :cheer2:

Although we go to WDW every year (even if it is only for a weekend at the start or end of our spring break), this will be the first time that DS6 will remember going to AK or DHS. We haven't been to all four parks since DS was 2 and DD was 5. This will be so great b/c it will be my first time going over NYE and for DS6 and DD9 so much of it will be new because they are older and will want to ride many things that they haven't had interest in before.

My family of 4 will be sharing a 3 bedroom presidential unit with my parents, and DB, DSIL and my 9 month old niece. Can't wait! Here's to hoping that my mom and brother don't hurt one another! :crazy2: We will be so busy that we should be fine, but I am sure that some of their nagging each other will definitely make for entertaining moments:lmao:

So who's in charge of the weather? I would like to order lows in the 50s and highs in the upper 70s (really I want spring break weather, lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s, but I am trying to be realistic:goodvibes). My kids have never been to WDW in the winter and they expect that in Florida you can swim because it is spring break weather all of the time::yes:: They will swim in anything, but I want it warm enough that I don't have to bundle up to sit next to the pool and watch them:beach:

Just found this page.. We are going January 11-18th. I am doing the half marathon, and my husband is going Goofy...

Hey wookie love the username. My son that is joining us in Disney is a huge Star Wars Fan and his best friend does the best Wookie impression I have heard. Thank you for the warm welcome. This is my third trip and DH's 2nd. We celebrated our 15th anniversary and will never forget the how magical Disney truely is. Looking forward to sharing that magic with my Son and Daughter in law. They moved across country in April so the magic will be extra special. Thank you wookie and Disboards the help I have gotten on dis has been indispensable.

I don't know why I didn't realize this earlier, but the Osborne Lights last day is January 6, 2013 which is our arrival day. :goodvibes I just rearranged our dining reservations to see the lights. Just wanted to share in case anyone else who is arriving early in January didn't know this either.

Thank you. I have loved Star Wars since I was a kid. The first movie I can remember watching in a non-drive-in theatre was a Star Wars movie. I'm not sure which one it was though. I remember that I kept trying to hide in the floor b/c I was convince if I was in the floor, Darth Vader couldn't see me and he couldn't hurt me.
My DH says that I have sometime have a "Chewbacca yawn". He says that I sound so much like Chewbacca that when I do it, he calls me Chewbecca, Chewbacca's sleepy sister.:lmao:

I am really hoping that some of y'all are going to be my ginea pigs for the new Be Our Guest restaurant. We had to move our trip to June. Actually, I just booked last night for June 10 - 15 at the AKL with an Arusha view. My 180 day out is in December, so I'm going to go ahead and book a dinner. I just hope to read some reviews from y'all to determine if we should keep it or not.

I'm so excited, just booked "The UnDISCOVERED Future World" tour for us toward the end of our trip in late January! Thought it would be a unique experience for my friend to feel VIP and go backstage. I would have booked one of the Magic Kingdom tours, but being a former Disneyland cast member, I felt it would feel too familiar.

We'll be there the same dates! Although we decided to stay at the Hilton Bonnet Creek this time.

January 20-25 staying at AoA LK section

I noticed your siggy and the 2007 trip. We've had the same experience with staying offsite. It was the worst thing we did. It is the one thing my DH and I agree about with WDW trips, that we will never stay offsite.
