Port of Miami - Taxi?

I'm taking a cruise in January on the Wonder out of the Port of Miami. Flying into Fort Lauderdale because it is cheaper. Well DCL does not have transfers out of FLL and the shuttlebus can not guarantee a pickup for the day I'm coming in. I'm thinking of just grabbing a taxi at the airport and then another one at the port when the cruise is over. I'm a little sceptacle since nothing is set in stone, but from what I'm reading there are always taxis at both places so it shouldn't be a problem. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Thanks, Pam

We are doing the same thing on our Jan 28th cruise. What shuttle bus company did you contact?? Another board had amazing reviews with SAS so we are going with them. We are arriving the night before.

Also, I LOVED your trip report on the Dream! It's one of the reasons we decided to try cruising....and the Rainforest room! :)

When I go on Fort Lauderdale's website they recommend Supershuttle, but when I go to their site and do a quote they say there is no pickup guarantee for my date. I'm thinking of just getting a taxi curbside at the airport.

That is so cool! Thank you so much :) I must warn you, from pictures I've seen the Rainforest Room on the Wonder/Magic is much smaller than the one on the Dream/Fantasy. I'm still really looking forward to relaxing in it. I'll be going on the cruise right before yours, leaving on the 24th.

Hope you have a fabulous trip!!!

I requested a rate and then asked 2 questions. One was if they had car seats or if I need to bring them. The second was if there was a limit as to how much luggage we could bring. They just sent a response with how much it would cost. I then replied and asked them again the 2 questions. They never responded. Any suggestions? We are going on the Panama Canal cruise next month. So, I need to nail this down. Sure wish DCL would just get a bus and take us all there! It would be so much easier!

SAS had a trailer behind the van when I used them to go from FLL to Miami for a cruise. There was no issue with 7 adults, and we were all on the same ship. (Not traveling together, just all booked SAS). Car seats, can't help you there, sorry.

Thanks so much! Anyone else know anything about car seats?

Any response on the car seat question?

Besides the price, is there any reason to NOT park at the port if we are driving in? We have 2 car seats to worry about so it seems worth the extra fee to us to just go straight from car to terminal. Any comments about why NOT the port?

That makes sense to me. I have not heard any negatives about parking at the port.
