This morning I looked out my hotel room window and was surprised to see a monorail.
And yes because it's australia it does circle the track backwards.
My son keeps urging me to go ride it and give the monorail spiel at every stop.
Hello!
Evening.....
sort of one of those days....once again Amelia forgot to bring home her homework, DW was not impressed, this is happening alot lately. Also, she went behind our backs, brought a toy to school, one she just got, and it was broken. She then lied saying I gave her permission to bring it Youngest jumped on DW's back while she was bent over picking something up, ended up pulling something, so she's in a lot of pain. All this, while I'm at work.
Then DW gets a call from her mom, she and her step-dad were broadsided by a deer tonight. Yep, they didn't hit the deer, the deer junped into the side of the car. Thank goodness they had slowed down just before it hit. Both are fine, a little shaken, driver's side banged up pretty good.
On the plus side though, Amelia was awarded her first four achievement badges from Brownies! Good on her...now just needs to focus on schoolwork.
Okay. Sorry and I hope DW gets better. How many points was the deer? (Glad they're okay but that's an important question).
I can gauge the local economy somewhat by the "abandoned animal index". If they are just puppies, kittens, or strays the economy is its usual dismal self for eastern KY. When we start getting well fed and groomed pets the economy is getting pretty bad. We had a new fluffy black cat dropped off today. Just because we run a farm doesn't mean we want your pets. Coyotes will probably get this one before the week is out.
I think we might use a second park bag this year, just to leave in the stroller with some extra clothes and maybe an extra bottle or 2 so I don't have to pack quite as much around the parks all day.
Just 10 work days left...

All those company benefits you have are dreadful.
Thursday ownage.
Time for work. Busy day planned - phone conference, travel voucher, and reading. Office days have been so much better since I figured out how to download books from the library on my iPad.
Tonite - Soccer Board Meeting.
Wow... lot of stuff in that one post.
Seth has been forgetting his homework too lately.
So 1) He has been grounded for a week. Instead of doing homework, he'd watch TV, play video games, go on the computer... So with no homework he can't do any of that. and 2) I drove him back to his school Tuesday evening, and found a caretacker to open the classroom, and he picked up his homework.
I think that behavior of "forgetting" is now behind him.

Hi Ryan, you remember Princess in Oz from the LAST thread? She lives in Melbourne.
I definitely miss those days. I used to have a philosophy about park touring that if it didn't fit in a cargo shorts pocket, it didn't need to go.Got to do Disney this year with NO backpack for first time since 2000. It was amazingly wonderful.

Morning...
They couldn't find it, so it's still out there somewhere. It's stalking your children. It's making obscene calls to your phone. It must be stopped!!
One of our family traditions is to watch the Christmas specials on TV. One of our favorites is The Muppet's Family Christmas. It no longer show up much on TV, so my DD1 bought a DVD a few years ago, but unfortunately it was a very poor recording. The other day she was surfing the web and found it on You Tube and I would like to share it with you. If you can get on a large screen for you family to watch, you won't be disappointed.

How old is Amelia? We had some of the same issues with DD when she was in 3rd grade last year. No issues in grade 1 and 2, then all of a sudden we started seeing her focus changing. For my DD it was a social thing. She started being more concerned with her friends and was forgetful of the other things. She is now in 4th grade and working hard again. The lying is pretty normal.
Good Luck. Raising kids is HARD.

I remember this on TV years ago, I'm surprised it's not on a proper DVD release. Thanks for sharing.
Yup...Amelia's always been a bit scatterbrained, that's fine, but lately it's getting out of hand. It is a social thing. She gets so geared up to play in the afterschool program, she rushes out of the classroom. Her grades are only so-so as it is, and tonight is the parent-teacher confrence ( I can't even be there, working of course.) and we are expecting the teacher to want to talk. Amelia turns 8 Monday. Also she puts off homework till the lsast minute, not good because 3/5 nights she has evening events (swim lessons, Brownies, and Church Band Practice)so she stays up later then we like finishing.
Right now she's on a TV ban and I've talked to the afterschool program director that Amelia can't have playtime till her homework's done, especially nights she's got things going. If it continues, DW will pull her out of Brownies, which I don;t want to see, she's got loads of cool stuff comming up with it.
I thought I remember her saying that. I spent the first part of the week in Melbourne, but I'm in Sydney now.Hi Ryan, you remember Princess in Oz from the LAST thread? She lives in Melbourne.
"Please stand clear of the doors, mate." Now do you have to give the second part of the spiel in Spanish, or can you do it in Australian?
