That was me yesterday, up too early!! lol
We had a great time Saturday at the birthday party, ate at BJ's and then went back to her place where we played games for a few hours, then it was home to bed for me. I had to get up at 5:30 am to get ready for working the game. We met at the school at 6:15 am and then headed out for the longest day ever. LOL Got to The Stick (Candlestick park) where we got to work setting up our booths, we have to stock them with food and drinks and put out things like ketchup, mayo, mustard, napkins, the big containers of onions, etc. Then we have to set up our registers and get a quick lesson in how they work. Did all that then grabbed a sausage to eat from one of the carts we were working (we had 1 sausage stand, 1 burger stand and 3 portable beer carts), the gates were supposed to open at 11:15 but they opened at 10:15 so I was still eating my food when they opened, but I took my time and finished that and then went back to my booth to work. When I got there the "stand manager" (one of our group who was managing the booth) said "Kerri, I'm sending you to another stand" so she took me, 2 other girls from our cart and then my friends who came with us and Cassidy and sent us to another booth, up on the 4th level of the stadium. That booth was an interior booth (the others were out in the plaza so they were out in the open) that sold sausages, hot dogs and garlic fries....OMG I sold so many garlic fries and cups of beer yesterday it was INSANE! LOL It was cool though, once we got into a rhythm and knew what we were doing. :) I had a couple of rude customers but most were really amazing, I got hit on at least twice (maybe a couple more but I wasn't sure if they were just friendly or were actually hitting on me lol) and a made a few dollars in tips. Once people found out we were volunteers and not getting paid actual money for our pockets they were really nice. lol When we finished we had to count our money and clean the work area and kitchen so once that was done we were able to leave. Got home about 8 and we picked up dinner on our way so once we got there we could just eat. :) I was in bed and asleep by 10 pm......hahahahaha I was exhausted! But it was fun and we had 4 people working for Cassidy so hopefully we made a good bit of money for her account and man, I now have a huge amount of respect for the people who work those venues, we didn't get any breaks at all and I barely was able to take drinks between customers!
At work today and have a lesson tonight, the girls are at home enjoying their day off today. :)

I just thought I would say Hi!

I seem to have a hard time keeping up on this thread! Kandace showed me how to "subscribe" to the thread on my phone!!! YIPEE!! Hopefully that will be easier to keep up now!

Looking forward to the sleepover this weekend & meeting some Divas!!!

:wave2: Good morning, ladies!!

Catrina, have fun at the sleepover! I wish I could go. Take lots of pics to share with the rest of us.

Kerri, glad to hear you had fun at the b-day party. We love BJs. Mmmm, avocado egg rolls!

Kelly, glad Katy is getting her cast off. I'm sure she's thrilled!

Hello Ladies!

A lot has been going on since I last checked in. Mel, those grandbabies are just darling! Thanks for sharing that picture. The beach looks pretty awesome too!

Katie darling!!!! Congratulations on your engagement. I am so happy to see you so happy...simply wonderful...

That is as much as I can remember and I am so sorry if I have missed anything else major. But hello to all...

We are just 17 days to moving and I am about 50% or so packed. It is a lot of work and I really feel like we have too much stuff too...I have gotten rid of 8 boxes so far and have another stack to go as well! I am determined to minimize any buying of stuff this year...

Which leads me to my next announcement...I am taking my 9 year old to Disneyland to celebrate his entry into double digits. Yeah! His birthday is Nov 22, which is not only Thanksgiving this year, but also just one week before we move. I convinced him to take the money that I would have spent on a party and presents and instead go on an experience. My husband was 100% behind it, so we are all set! We will be arriving on Dec. 15th and leaving on the 18th. Just a short trip, but I am really looking forward to it. Anyone else going to be around? Anyone else looking to make a short trip and wanting to share a room? I would love to cut down on that hotel expense a bit too. So that being said, I am no longer selling my annual pass, since I will now for sure get two trips out of it:)

Well, I am off to pack some more boxes. Have a great day!

Howdy all! I'm almost down to single digits on my trip countdown, so I'm starting to get "packing stress". LOL Other than that, nothing new around here except that it finally got cold enough that we turned the furnace on for the first time today, so now my house stinks of burned dust. Ick. Had a nice time at my cousin's wedding this weekend. Nothing else going on around here. Man, my life is boring. LOL

Just a quick hello from me. I'm so glad it's Friday. I'm beyond exhausted. Cliff & I are staying the night at the Grand Californian on Monday and I'm most excited about sleeping in...sad really, but Laila never let's me sleep in on the weekends and I miss the extra sleep.

Mel~ love the pic. Your grandkids are adorable but that's not shocking since your such a beautiful lady :)

Paula~ I hope it works out that you can make it on the trip.

Beth & Deb~ a bachlorette party in Vegas would be awesome! But there is no way I can make it to Vegas before March. Is it against the rules to have a bachlorette party after you get married...

Nope not at all!!! March/April are both just great months!

Well shoot, you get there the afternoon I arrive.
What a fun birthday!

:rolleyes1I received a check from Vicki! Thanks Vicki! :goodvibes

Some of you out there still owe me for the pink tees and sweatshirts. Unless we have talked over the details of payment, please try and get your money out to me right away.

Thanks, Mel

LOL! They were big. I was in a hurray and didn't double check. Anywhos, not so much in your faces now.

Hello big letters. LOL Mel, I mailed my check to you last week, do you still not have it? If you don't have it by the end of this week I'll have to put a stop payment on it and send another check, or just send another and make sure you don't cash them both. lol :)
I haven't seen you confirm that you did get it but I may have missed it.

Wednesday Wednesday, I have a lesson tonight, first Wednesday night lesson for me ever. :) Exciting, but I need to figure out what to make for dinner before I go....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Otherwise nothing else going on really. I started playing Ghosts of Mistwood on FB, it's fun but I need lantern oil! LOL

Hi all.

Mel I mailed my check this past weekend. Let me know if it's not there by Friday in case I need to cancel it.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Steph

Beth, will there be a Christmas card exchange this year? I look forward to getting so many cards, you know how it makes me feel popular!:cheer2:

I was just thinking about this today! LOL

Drive by hi from me! I'm down into single digits in my WDW countdown and starting to PANIC. I'm usually WAY more organized for a big trip like this by now. Especially considering I won't have the day before I leave to do any last minute stuff. It's all gotta be done by this time next week. EEK!

I did start shopping for my stocking exchange today though!

Good morning, ladies! In just one week it will be Thanksgiving! Time is just flying by now. Our trip will be here before we know it. We really need to work on meal planning some more. Reservations for meals can be made 60 days out, so that means towards the end of next months we can start making calls. :cool1: We have a few things down, but it still needs work. So, put those thinking caps on. Doesn't have to be today, but before too long. :)

Speaking of meals, what are everyone's plans for turkey day? Anyone traveling to see family? Cooking for a big crowd? Going to the parks?
Ruben works, so our Thanksgiving dinner will wait until he gets home, then on Friday evening we are heading to CA to see his family and to use up another day on our Universal Studios passes that his mom bought us last Christmas. Should be fun! :cool1:

Have a good day everyone!

But of course there will be. ;) I haven't forgotten. I was going to start taking names/addresses tomorrow through next Friday, which is the 30th. That way the list will go out on the last day of November for those who like to send their Christmas cards out the first week of December. So, keep an eye open for that tomorrow! :thumbsup2

I like getting the cards, too. Such a nice change from bills!! lol

Yay for single digits and for stocking exchange shopping!! :cool1: Good luck getting everything together. I'm sure it will be fine.

What a fun birthday!

Does this mean that I arrive the day you leave??? If so, darn! I would have loved to have met up with you and gotten to meet that darling little girl of yours!

Well, I hope that I am not going to regret it, but I just booked Castle Inn and Suites for our trip. It is only 3 nights, so I know I can stand anything for that long...Everything is so expensive anymore! It was the only place that I could afford that was in walking distance.

:wave2:

Thanksgiving is next week, huh? I get to work, lol. Better than sitting at the apartment alone since my roommate is going to visit her family in San Diego and my family isn't coming to visit.

Oh man, I hope you don't regret it, we stayed there over President's weekend and man it was the worst hotel in the area we have ever stayed in......I will not stay there again, it was terrible. :( I hope you have better luck!

yes, next week! You'll have fun working. :) Does Disney do anything for you guys? Like a free meal? Holiday pay? lol

The girls leave Saturday, they are flying to Oceanside to spend the week with their Grandma, they are both excited. Grandma got them tickets to see Peter Pan so that's exciting. I need to see if I can fix Jade's dress before they leave and I promised her a hair cut so I gotta get that done ASAP. :) Micah and I are going to his parents for Thanksgiving, they asked me to bring the green bean casserole again, so I will. Last year it was devoured so maybe I'll make a little more this year. :) Otherwise no plans, I'm off that Friday but I think Micah has to work so I'll work on Christmas lists and figure out things I want to make for gifts. :) I might watch some cheesy Christmas movies as well. If he doesn't have to work I'll probably do much the same thing and just spend the day with him, he will probably play in the fish tank while I work on Christmas lists. lol
They come back Saturday in the morning so we might spend part of that day in Sacramento going to various fish stores.

I have a busy one today, work all day then head for home but I have to run some errands too so......gonna be a busy one. :)

I hear ya on the PANIC. I'm a full-time volunteer for the Red Cross, and I've been working 12 hour days seven days a week, and I am so NOT PREPARED for my trip. Plus, my refrigerator decided to die (luckily I rent and it's my landlord's problem, but one more thing I did NOT need to deal with), and it's possible that as soon as I get back from my WDW trip I will go out to Hurricane Sandy relief. It means I would cancel my solo trip to DL, but I can do that next year. I will get my stocking exchange shopping done this weekend, and I'm super-excited about having something FUN to look forward to this weekend.
