i am currently trying to plan our TS meals and everyone in my family loves the WCC and im quite happy to take them... however due to my food allergies i am unable to eat the skillet. last time they cooked me something off the lunch menu which i was able t eat, but appreciate with the change in policy/menu this may not be possible so can i pick something up at the CS and eat it with them??? dont reallywant to sit there all evening watching them eat :rotfl2:

thanks for any info you have...

Tracy

i ve always been very well looked after wdw, but as they only serve the skillet now (which i cant eat) will they still allow me to eat a la carte?? i can imagine the stares i ll get lmao:rotfl2:...

ty that was an interesting link, i d never read that before despite several trips to wdw :) i always put my multiple allergies on reservations and have printed cards before so they can be handed to chefs... im a complicated little person lol!!

That's good that you are so prepared! Yes they will prepare something especially for you.

the first year, when my kids were very small, and they were the "centre of attention" we ate at crt.... sooo into the princess didnt notice that i was eating coconut (on one of the pastries/buns) wow you ve never seen a person so sick lol... never ever will i ruin my hols by being "in the moment".... a friend of mine dined at at dtd rest and nearly died due to being served luke warm rice.... a 14day holiday ruined... i know it sounds aweful but if you have allergies/issues you need to be prepared (luckily mine arent life threatening):crazy2::flower3:

Just what allergies do you have that make you unable to eat the skillet? In my family, 3 of the 4 of us has laundry lists of food allergies. The chef at WCC was able to come up with a wonderful skillet for us plus the absolute best corn bread we've ever had. Don't rule out WCC because of allergies. Yes at dinner you'll pay the same fixed price as everybody else but you likely will get your own custom platter of foods prepared to your needs.

I would think it is like Ohana, and they make me my own items that they came up with to fit my gluten allergy. I have yet to find a WDW restaurant that did not come up with something. Mine actually looked better than the others at 'Ohana. :rotfl2: The only one that had a problem at all was Starring Rolls and he went to Brown Derby to have them make mine.

Almost died from luke warm rice? Craziness! Was it bacterial?

If you notify them about the allergy they will accommodate you. they will make you something safe if it is what you need.

They likely have a policy against bringing in outside food so it would be easier to just ask them to accommodate you.

Starring Rolls does not have the ability to prepare food in-house. All the food they serve is pre-made and brought in from elsewhere. This is why you can't get the sandwiches without mayonnaise (or anything else you don't want on them).

warm rice can be very dangerous..even life threatening, it s one of the most toxic (potentially) foods we eat regularly...

my allergies include onion and onion powder which are used to season the meat on the skillet..

i also ate at ohanas and due to my allergies (this time pineapple and coconut;)) i was offered "better" food than the rest of my family...well they hoovered my leftovers up lol!!

i ll contact them closer to the date and see if they can provide me with food (im pretty easy will even eat bfast food for dinner:rotfl2:) so hope they ll be able to help
:cloud9: thank you guys xx

MY DS has an extreme seafood allergy. He's allergic to all (fish and shellfish) seafood. We have never had a problem dining at WDW. In fact, every restaurant was very accommodating and took my DS allergy very seriously.

We have 2 ADR booked at Whispering Canyon (dinner) with the famous skillet, and with the menu changes at Whispering Canyon, one of the choices now available is fish. Even though we will be bringing an Epipen with us, I have complete faith that Disney will once again look out for the best interest of my son when serving him his meal.

My advice to you is to relax and enjoy you're dining experience at WCC. I'm sure they can accommodate you by cooking your food separately from the rest of your table. Once you mention that you have a food allergy, the waiter or waitress will call for a chef to come over and speak with you about it.

Relax and have fun! :thumbsup2

Isn't that disturbing.... I can say with great certainty that I almost always eat my rice luke warm from the Chinese take-out! Yikes!
