2013 Free Dining Watch

When do they release dates for free dining in Sept? I'm booked at AoA for May but am debating on changing my dates to late Sept. if free dining is offered.

And what is a pin code? How do they work and what are they for?

Those who have gotten free dining pin in the mail for January are there any exclusions on resorts I know they have a time frame to use it but like with the psd now you can't book LM room or villas just wondering if fd was the same??

We are hoping for Free Dining next December! If my research is correct then Pop Warner for 2013 will run December 7th through 14th as that is the first full week of December starting on a Saturday! With there being a week in between Thanksgiving, and then Pop Warner starting I am hoping for Free Dining the week of November 30th through December 7th! I can hope and wish for pixie dust this will happen right? :thumbsup2

I heard jan pin codes are going out. Pin code is discount attached to email or they mail
To your house it only works for your family vs. offers that are public:

Free dining pins for Jan - Mar also exclude LM rooms.

You won't find out if FD is offered for September to the general public before your May trip.

Plan on going when you prefer, but public FD may be a thing of the past if they stick with the Stay/Play/Dine offer.

What is the difference in Free Dining and Stay/Play/Dine?

With THIS s/p/d offer, all children and adults pay child prices for dining. In the past, there have been variations to the s/p/d offer, such as one child s/p/d for free with each full price paying adult.

How do I know if the Play,Stay, and Dine applies to our dates? We are going May 11th-18th, and staying at AoA. We are a family of 7, well 6 b/c the baby is free. I know most offers are based on a family of 4:confused3

Stay/Play/Dine currently applies to check-ins on "select dates" between January 2 and March 7. Does not apply to May at this time. (May is not a big month for discounts.)

Disney's advertising often uses a family of 4 (2 adults, 1 child, 1 junior although there is no actual price difference between the adults and the junior) on a 5 night stay as an example of pricing. That does not mean the offers are limited to a family of 4 staying 5 nights, it's just an example of the price that type of party could get if they use the offer.

Am I thinking right then in that equals to about the cost of upgrading from quick service to the regular dining plan for an adult? For my family that usually stays in a value during Free Dining then this would be about the same!

If you're in a value getting the free QSDP and upgrading to the DDP - with this offer you would be paying the child price for any adults for the QSDP (instead of getting it free) and THEN paying the upgrade price to the regular DDP.

Not necessary. FD for the general public has traditionally been announced around March. There's no reason to expect it then, but there's also no reason to NOT expect/hope for it being announced then.

My favorite was when they announced it in Fall 2010 for the following August/September-- I loved being able to book so early!

Regular dining price as an adult or regular dining price for a child?

I'm not sure how they did the upgrade prices. We upgraded DDP to DXDP and it looks like we paid the difference in the 2 adult plans (even though we were paying the child price for the DDP). Does that make sense? Because I feel like it doesn't :rotfl:

FD for October in March? Didn't they release it in July this year?

ETA: Mousesavers link of historical release dates http://www.mousesavers.com/historical-information-on-walt-disney-world-resort-discounts/#codechart

October FD has been released July-August in the past. I do remember them releasing discounts for the entire next year if booked by December a few years ago, but since they've already started the discounts for 2013 I doubt they'll do that now.

If you check on on March 7 do you still get FD for the length of your stay? Is there a minimum stay? AND lastly does FD include Art of Animation except LM rooms?

TIA!!!!:thumbsup2

Unless you got a pin there is no FD campaign running right now! All what is running is the S/P/D package which gives you reduced prices for dinning and park tickets (more or less adults pay kids prices). And yes if you check in March 7th the reduced prices count for the rest of your stay - you only have to check in until March 7th. And also yes - AoA is included except LM rooms.

Hope that helps!
