Thanks for the response. I was nervous... but staying at the GF again in such a short period of time was not in the budget. The Beach Club looks really nice and we love Cape May Cafe.

One last question... any idea what the Garden View is like? Will we be over a parking lot? Do they ever upgrade views when you get there?
d

A garden view is a view of something green: courtyard, garden, overgrown woods, trees, etc.

A standard view is a view of parking lots and/or roofs.

A water/lagoon view is a view of "water".

anyone recently back from Yacht CL?? I would love to know the lounge hours please. :) (ex.. breakfast, snacks, appetizers, desserts)
Thank you very much for the info in advance!! :)

I would do a little thinking on that. Sure BC is great, but so are a lot of other wdw resorts. We also love WL, AKL, and POR. We enjoy many wdw resorts, they all have something special to offer. And if it means a wdw trip or no wdw trip, you bet I'd stay at a moderate. POR is a beautiful resort. We've had wonderful stays there. We go twice a year to wdw so they can't all be deluxe stays, and some January trips we stay moderate, and summer tends to be deluxe. And we are just as happy at either.

We have definitely stayed at other places onsite and off. The only way I can get my DH to WDW anymore is the promise that he will not have to drive a car or rely on Disney transportation on vacation. That leaves the Epcot area for us. We spend 90% of our time at the resort, strolling the Boardwalk, SAB, Epcot and DHS. We go to BC for the resort and SAB as much as the parks. That is our lazy , relaxed style Disney. DH doesn't like WDW at much as me so BC is how I get him to go ( and the yummy restaurants). We have stayed at S/D in past and is still an option but we would miss SAB:beach:

Maybe you could check out David's DVC rentals and look at BCV or BWV as an option?

Great... thank you! I'm sold... looking forward to my trip!!

We stayed at the BC a week ago and left our camera charger/battery in the room. Does anyone know if there is an e-mail address we could write to asking if the charger was turned in? Has anyone had any experience with this?

I’m hesitant to contact them, since the cost of these items has gone down so much over the last two years.

We left our charger at the VWL last year before we stayed at BCV's. Stopped by WL before we left and the 'lost and found lady' brought a box of chargers out to our car to look through. It wasn't in there so imagine my surprise when I recieved my charger in the mail a couple weeks later with a note saying "I found it!"

Give them a call. Service is what WDW is all about.

Walt Disney World Lost and Found at 407-824-4321 between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Eastern time.

ughhh.. no trip planned. This is the first time in a long time this is the case. Dh wanted a cruise for our 10th anniversary so he booked one for April for our anniversary. Unfortunately not Disney. Now we are looking at our 2 nd trip for the year and the WDW price is too high and I refuse to stay anywhere but BC:confused3 I am so sad because all I want is to go to WDW

Plan a nice vacation somewhere else and enjoy yourselves! I know how you feel. I LOVE WDW so much that I feel like we are missing out on the rest of the world. I'm trying to plan something else next year to supplement my WDW obsession, but it is hard! The budget for a non-Disney trip is tighter so it is hard to figure out what would be fun and economical.

Ahhhhh.... such troubles to have, such troubles :rolleyes1

Teena!

My friend bought a Tastycake route!!!! Gonna load you up when I come in May girl!!! The peanut butter ones, right????

We are scheduled to arrive at the BC on Thanksgiving Day. We have a standard CL room and have not made any requests. We have checked in online and wonder if there are differences if we do this. Any one have any experience checking in online rather than at the desk and can give some guidance, which is better?

TIA! nancy

WOW ... now that's a friend to have!!!!!

Bob is the one that likes the Peanut Butter Tandycakes and they are Jeanne's favorites too. We keep some frozen for her for the few times she comes to visit when nice guests bring them to us.

I like the chocolate Tandycakes and the Cherry Tastypies.
I also like the chocolate creme filled cupcakes.

Thanks so much for thinking of me and the family!!!!!!!

Teena- did you get my message that my local supermarket starting carrying Tastykake products? My boys really like the Peanut Butter Tandycakes. I also got some sugar free Orange spongecake kind of thing that my older son liked.

I got some extra boxes, 1 chocolate and 1 PB and froze them as you suggest.

I stayed CL last aug at AKL and didn't check in on line. You are checked in upstairs for CL on the CL floor. At BC they have a desk right outside the Lounge.

This is probably a little late in replying about good views for Illuminations but I hope it helps. I was at the Yacht Club in October - wonderful stay and has made me change next year's reservation from the Grand Floridian to the Beach Club (no water views at the Yacht Club on the Disney UK site in early October!)

I was in room 3005 which was as far towards the Boardwalk bridge as it was possible to go. The view of Illuminations was perfect!

Thank you for all of the information you share on this forum, it's so helpful!

Was it a water view that you had booked at YC?

Just wanted to say hello. Me and my dh are also checking in on Thanksgiving. We are also in a standard club level room. We are having our Thanksgiving dinner at Captains Grill at YC. We haven't checked in on line.

Don't miss out on the rest of the world! We travel to other places all the time, and have a great time. Of course, WDW is still the kids' favorite, but I just try to identify the things we love about WDW and plan other trips accordingly. For trips with kids, our list includes nicely decorated and themed resorts, lots of active things for us to do, great customer service and good restaurants with interesting menus that still welcome our kids. It just takes a lot more time and research to put non-Disney trips together. So far, we've found that combination in many different places - NYC, DC, Boston, Martha's Vineyard, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, LA, Newport Beach, Florida beaches, Mexico, Canada, Alaska (OK, that was on our Disney cruise), Monterrey, Santa Barbara, Park City, the list goes on! But for an anniversary trip, Napa would be at the top of my list. :)

Dragging this forward....In case someone has better answers than me.

Anyone been in the Art of Disney store lately? I'm redoing our living room and wanted to get a painting of our beloved Beach Club to hang! I have seen paintings of the poly there before but can't recall if there was a BC one.

TIA!!! Less than a month and we'll be back home :)

Not sure if prints are what you are looking for but they actually sell those at the Marketplace. We purchased a print of the BC by artist Larry Dotson at the AK.

Just wanted to add my plug for the garden view rooms - love them! It's less expensive than water view, but guarantees you won't be overlooking a parking lot. Some are better than others, but we've always found something good about our garden views. If we're looking at shrubs during the day, for example, we look up and see the Eiffel Tower and fireworks at night! Our favorite garden view is the one we had last month - second floor right near the lobby and overlooking the courtyard and a little bit of SAB and the lake. If booking GV in the future, I think I'll request full balcony, close to lobby.

As for the transition from GF, GF is the only deluxe resort left on my bucket list - I've stayed at all the others. Having stayed at all the other MK resorts, I can definitely say that the Epcot area is my favorite. I like to walk and would rather walk to parks than wait for a bus, boat or monorail. And we love ADRs in Epcot, so the walk home to BC just couldn't be easier or more pleasant. We also prefer the decor at BC - that's one of the reasons I've not convinced my husband and three boys to sacrifice one of our favorite resorts for GF yet! Hope you love BC as much as we do!

Checked into BC CL Saturday and were suppose to stay until this Sunday but yesterday afternoon we got a call that my MIL had passed away. We had to quickly pack and make the 10 hour drive home. CL staff worked hard to get us checked out and bell service was amazing they quickly got us loaded. I did get to meet TeenaS Sunday, so sweet and beautiful. I was VERY dissapointed in guest services as they kept insisting that I had to bring my DH and 3 kids to the park guest services location IN PERSON to get a refund for our MVMCP tickets for last night. I explained about the death of the kids grandmother and that it would be very insensitive to bring the kids into the park with them so upset. I could just see a CM saying "have a magical day" in front of my kids. Finally the amazing wonderful ALLY from CL staff stepped in and took care of everything. We will have to deal with the disney travel insurance people to try to get some of our money back from all the days we missed but we can't deal with that until later.
