POLL - Should Starbucks be at Walt Disney World?

POLL-- Does Starbucks Belong at Walt Disney World?

  • Yes, I love Starbucks

  • No Way Starbucks is overrated

  • Depends on the Price

  • I don't care

  • Disney should offer something "special" not Starbucks

  • It's fine, but I will get my coffee elsewhere

With all the debate going on about Starbucks and Disney, should SB's replace Mainstreet Bakery and the fountainshop at EPCOT?

EDITED TODAY NOVEMBER 12th to INCLUDE THIS:

There are specials going on at Starbucks BUY ONE GET ONE FREE!

YES FREE!

Free coffee alert! Tomorrow, Starbucks will launch four days of buy-one-get-one action to promote their seasonal holiday beverages. From 2 to 5 PM, you can go in with a friend and score an extra peppermint mocha, gingerbread latte, eggnog latte or carmel brulee latte and get another one for free. Disney is famous for miserable coffee. Starbucks coffee at MSB is a good thing!

It's working now. :cool1:

the poll is terribly constructed. first of all, the main question does not reflect the plan. it talks about replacing MSB with Starbucks. That is not the plan.

Secondly, there should be options like "Not if it is going to look like a standard starbucks store" and "yes, if it is really well themed and continues to serve the pastries i like"

FreshmanJS, please, if you don't like someone's poll, just ignore it or create your own. It's been awhile since I've made one, but if it's still the same as it was, the options cannot be modified once created.

What's the difference between Starbucks and McDonalds? Other than McDonalds is no longer in any of the parks or DTD. The photos I have seen of the DL Starbucks looks promising.

Thank you Twinklebug. All her posts are ad hominem attacks.

It seems to be far more people are interested in attacking freshmanjs. Considering there are now a number of people attacking freshmanjs, it's more of an issue for the other people who are getting so bothered over a cup of coffee. With all the hysteria, you'd think Mickey was going to be running around with the Starbucks logo as ears. :sad2:

Anyway............

I'm excited for this change. It will be nice not to have to go off property for a decent cup of coffee. Knowing what we know about the DCA location, knowing that MSB isn't actually closing and only getting Starbucks added, it's a welcome change. Disney has finally listened to it's patrons about their very limited (and terrible!) coffee options and are doing something about it.

At. All. :goodvibes

~Brunette8706, this is an awesome poll! It's so nice to see both you & KellyNY! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I third what Twinklebug said! :goodvibes

It isn't surprising that Disney is bringing in one of the most popular and fastest growing coffees in the country to replace the horrible coffee that has been complained about for at least the few years I've been here. For those who don't know about why people like Starbucks besides just how good their coffee is, you should know that Starbucks consistently does right by its employees. For example, they closed all their stores well before the transit system shut down before Hurricane Sandy, so their staff could get home safely. And doing good by their employees forces their competitors to do good too. After Starbucks announced that they were closing their stores, their biggest competitor had to do the same.

I don't understand why everyone is in such an uproar! I mean I'm not happy about it either but it really doesn't matter how we feel about it, IT WILL HAPPEN! I think while its sad we should accept it and move on!

I don't care.

Either I'll eat/drink there or I won't.

It changing it's cofee really doesn't make me feel any sort of emotion at all.

Stuff changes, that's life.

They are NOT replacing MSB!!!!! It will still be MSB, they will still sell baked goods, but they will be selling Starbucks coffee!!!! What is the big deal?!:confused3

My answer is, I don't mind that they came to the park. I do wish...wish, mind you....that they were placing the one at Magic Kingdom somewhere else besides Main Street Bakery.

I am not opposed to corporate sponsorship, either.

To me, this is like when they renamed Comiskey Park to US Cellular Field. It felt really weird.

I cannot see how Starbucks fits into the theme of turn-of-the-century Main Street, USA, either.

I agree with freshmanjs, which is why I'm not voting. But I will comment.

1. I love Starbucks
2. I love the Main Street Bakery

If they are adding Starbucks coffee to the Main Street Bakery, I'm happy with that. At first I thought they were replacing the bakery. As long as they aren't doing that, I'm good.

And either way, I'd be buying an iced or frozen coffee. I don't drink hot coffee in hot weather. I don't think I've ever had hot coffee in Walt Disney World.

And what's the "fountainshop" in Epcot?
