EBPC December 9, 2012!!! PART 2

Thanks to Xavier for pointing out that I'd accidentally deleted the link on the web site for people to send in their names for the name cards.

I've added a few more photos to the Roll Call and some more stateroom numbers.

And about being shy...I'm not and I enjoy meeting new people. So if you see Susan and me around please do stop us and chat.

Folks that have linked their dining reservations up in the Early Seating, there are two adult tables and two adults w/kids tables that I know of with 28 DISers total. Question to those that are in this group...Do you have a dining rotation preference, i.e., there are 3 possibilities. Personally, I like Triton's and Animator's Palette better than Parrot Cay so I'd take 1 but it's not a strong preference.

1. TAPTAPTAPTAPTA - (Triton's & Animator's Palette 5 times, Parrot Cay 4 times)
2. APTAPTAPTAPTAP - (Parrot Cay & Animator's Palette 5 times, Triton's 4 times)
3. PTAPTAPTAPTAPT - (Triton's & Parrot Cay 5 times, Animator's Palette 4 times)

Now I have to work out which nights are formal/semi formal so they don't end up in Parrot Cay and request my rotation! And probably skip PC for Palo too. Thank you!

I had no plans to be on the internet or even use a phone while on this cruise, but we are currently in the middle of negotiations on buying a house and the seller wants to close on Dec 28 instead of in January, so we might have to conduct business while onboard.

Can someone clue me in on the cost of using the internet onboard to check emails as well as using a cell phone if we can't conduct our busines via email? I'm totally clueless.

Here is the schedule (also on the web site) of the formal/semi-formal/Pirate Night. I just reconfirmed this with DCL, although the cast member reiterated again and again that it was subject to change.

Formal Night #1 - Thursday Dec. 13th
Semi-formal Night - Sunday, Dec. 16th
Pirates Night - Tuesday, Dec. 18th
Formal Night #2 - Thursday, Dec. 20th

So, dining rotation #1 would have a formal and semi-formal night at Animator's, a formal night at Parrot's and Pirate Night at Triton's. #2 has formal and semi-formal at Parrot's and 2nd formal at Triton's and Pirate Night at Animator's, rotation #3 would have formal and semi-formal at Triton's, 2nd formal at Animator's and Pirate Night at Parrot Cay. #3 seems to make the most sense but it doesn't matter that much.

And the CM did confirm that Monsers Inc. 3D will be shown on board.

Okay...I'm caught up on the new thread. Now I need to go back to the old thread and catch up there! I may be missing a few pages.

Okay, so I borrowed this quote from the aforementioned thread. I remember LindaBabe wrote the terminal is a pretty miserable place at the Port of LA, maybe this could liven it up a bit?

"Cruise Terminal Prior to Boarding: Meet by the largest TV display where Disney movies/shows are playing. It's obvious...once you're through security, just go straight ahead past the restrooms towards the far wall and look on your right. There's plenty of seating, and TV for the kids while we wait for kids registration to open, Mickey's arrival for photos, and boarding to begin. I'll post a DIS sign as well to help you find us. You'd be surprised...it's actually pretty easy to figure out who's in our group jsut from what you learn online. We are usually very early arrivers at the terminal so just look for us. I'll be looking chilled, but anxious to board, while my twin DDs will be running around to meet all their new friends and get the social activities going. This (and the onboard meet) is a great opportunity for the kids to premeet some friends and get over their shyness before hitting the Stack/Edge/Lab/Club/etc. Disney to my knowlege has never really enforced arrival times at the LA/San Pedro terminal, so I wouldn't stress over showing up early."

I recognize this meet up! I'm sailing the DoubleTrouble next week! Just a heads up. When we cruised out of San Pedro in September, there were no characters in the terminal for photos. I asked and was told that they discontinued doing that. :sad2: They may be back by popular demand, but no characters in September. Don't want everyone telling the little ones and then not have anyone show up.

I agree that 3 looks the best. But whatever works Jeff.

I can not wait for this vacation! I had a crappy day at work. And to top it off my crappy work day, my coworker/friend is back from her honeymoon, which one would think is a great thing but said friend is a workout freak who had me in great shape before she got to busy with her wedding for the last 6 months. Well she is now has the free time again and her workout kicked my butt and made me sick. I had forgotten how someone so tiny could be so evil! I felt like I was on the biggest loser....

Oh happy note, DH bought our disneyland tickets today!

I haven't been able to keep up as much on the boards since we are in the process of moving due to a new job my husband took. It all happened suddenly and unexpectedly. He moved Oct 1, so he's been commuting the 400 miles to see us most weekends.

I haven't started packing up the house, I haven't started packing for the cruise. I don't have time to shop or fuss about what we'll be wearing on the cruise. All I can commit to is that we will be wearing clothes! Need-less-to-say, it will be a busy few months for our family.

I'm with you. My husband took a new job, around 150 miles away, so he stays there during the week & comes home on weekends. I'm anxiously awaiting a call from our realtor because she told me earlier that an offer was coming in tonight. Hopefully we will be moving the week after the cruise. I haven't even started packing for the cruise, or the house other than de-cluttering in order to put it on the market.

We are so looking forward to the relaxation!!!!!:beach:

John (DH Decked Out) and I are with you in the dining group and we also would prefer option 1 since we love Triton's. But I will be happy with any rotation.

I am not shy and will come up and introduce myself to anyone I see wearing a Disboard nametag. I will also wave or shout from across the room. So be prepared! :wave2:

I had very good luck with doing business via email on a previous cruise. Each morning I signed on and downloaded all emails then signed off. Took a minute or two. Then I could compose replies offline leisurely. Then another signon to send. Repeat the process in the afternoon. I think the total charge was about $22 for the 11 day cruise, and I was able to reply to all emails in a timely fashion. I suppose it wouldn't be as economical if you have to access webpages and spend time navigating around the web, though.

Speaking of name tags, I've been creating the layouts and getting the sizing right and playing with colors. I'm a Donald fan so I did him but printing out the others too with the white backgrounds it seems to me that we need one with more color to show up on that white background. Susan and I thought the lights one showed up the best. Opinions on whether the red text or green text looks better? Made real first name bigger and bold, and DIS name smaller, non-bold and italic. Thought about using Disney font but it's not as legible as some others like Tahoma.

Which ever dining rotation the group picks is fine with us too. I get confused just thinking about all the different options.

Jeff,

I really like the fonts. Good job. I know it's time consuming going thru them and finding the one that works best.

Personally I like the simpler lines because it's easier for me to read but you and Susan are looking at them first hand and can tell what looks best.

I say you do what you think works best. I appreciate you taking the time to do them. I'll be ecstatic over which ever one you chose. :cheer2:

You poor kid! MAssage? Chiropractor? ADVIL?

For the diabetes thing - it's gonna take some time. Baby steps. Not so hard on the cruise - lots of yummy choices - just make good ones. Low carb - skip the dinner rolls, high calorie dessert = 3 bites only. They're the bites that taste the best anyway. Stick with me - we will beat this thing into shape!

Thanks Linda, I really need a mentor. Aleve helps some. I've thinking about going to the Chiropractor, just waiting to see what the regular DR says tomorrow.

Just curious if those rotations came from Disney. I've read several of trip reports from the Hawaiian cruise and the rotations don't seem to follow the normal ones from the seven night.

SOCABABY posted this on her Hawaiian trip report "I have requested PTTAPTA for my past 2 cruises prior to this one so I think that is why I got the rotation I got...PTTAPTAPTAPTAAP. It's so weird seeing all those letters on your KTTW card.

Hopefully someone who has sailed on a longer cruise can confirm :confused3

Name tags look great - either color looks good (although green is my favorite color). Thanks again for taking on this project - it is very much appreciated.

My favorite restaurant on the Magic was Lumineres. Is it the type food as Tritons? We ate lunch there everyday. Most of the time we ate breakfast there after working out. I would vote for more days there. Although I will be happy with anything. Thanks. Sherry

Oh , I love the name tags. Thanks again.

I appreciate the feedback and the advice. It was helpful!

Love the Red text and holiday lights on the name tag as it stands out more. Jeff you will be able to judge them best in person. Great work!! Thanks for taking the time to work on them!
