Hi All! My Dis-sis, T, and I just returned from an insanely fun and food filled trip to the world. We spent 13 nights at the POR (1 more than planned due to that crazy Sandy person) and loved every minute of it!

Yep, the amazing expandable stomach is mine...I have no clue how we ate all that we did, but oh-boy was it deeeelicious. I welcome you to join me as I happily reminisce over all those calories, and think fondly of the laps completed around EPCOT to nullify them.

We've been traveling to our happy place since 2009. This was our 5th trip since then, and I think each one has been better than the last. I'm the crazy disney planner, T is just along for the ride, and that's the way she likes it. She's not so pleased when I take pics at restaurants, but she knows it's for the greater good of the DIS. (i.e. deal with it )

The plan for arrival day was to eat lunch at the resort food court and head to Downtown Disney. My favorite part of that first day is driving under the 'Welcome to Walt Disney World' sign :cloud9: It always makes me a little teary.

Last year we stayed at POP Century, and I must admit, I was so happy to be back at POR. It felt so good to be home. The Sassagoula food court is great. Just the right amount of options and the cms are awesome.:thumbsup2

I usually get a disney burger as my first meal, but I changed it up this year:

Tuna Sandwich on toasted 12 grain bread. You could select either cooked chips or pasta salad

This was a delicious tuna sandwich. I picked off the cucumbers (don't like that with tuna) and was in tuna heaven. It was a large sandwich, and the tuna was fresh and perfectly seasoned and was great with the lightly toasted warm bread. The pasta salad was just meh, but I was too full to eat it anyway!

T had the Chicken Sandwich with chipotle mayo. She said it was very good, but could use a little more spice.

We are so predictable with our food court desserts:

I love these cupcakes...fluffy moist yellow cake with sweet creamy icing. Well, it wasn't quite as yummy this time. The cake was as delish as usual, but the icing was way too sweet and a little grainy. The sugar cookie was soft and chewy; just perfect.

Dowtown Disney was so crowded that night. We ended up eating dinner at our resort agiain.

We both knew exactly what to get. POR has an amazing pasta station. The serving size is unreal, and the dish is sooo yummy. We both had linguine noodles with alfredo sauce and shrimp. I added onion, mushroom, and peas to mine.

It is so fascinating to watch the chef cook your meal. The flames, the speed,...oy...I could never do it!

Sassagoula has a yummy yummy carrot cake. I definitely recommend trying it; real carrots and everything!

T had a brownie

Honestly not that great. It wasn't dense and fudgy like a brownie should be.

Next up Kona Breakfast

Great pictures! I'm looking forward to seeing more & hearing about your trip!

Joining in! That pasta looks delish - I may have to add that to my list of mandatory meals for next summer! :cheer2:

I'm definitely in!! You've got some fantastic ADRs :thumbsup2

Sadly I stayed at POR last time and we didn't end up eating at the food court once!! How is that possible? I'm really regretting it now after looking at your pasta!

Excited to read more

Joining in! Can't wait to hear your reviews. We're staying at POR for 10 days in April. I'm glad to hear you like it! :thumbsup2

You should!! There are tons of options too...toppings, sauce, noodle type,...so yummy!

great update. Sounds like you had a great trip
Thank you; we had so much fun!

Signing on! I hope you and your family fared well with Sandy.
Thank you :goodvibes We can't complain too much. 1 week without power and a couple downed trees, but no major damage. So many weren't as lucky :(

Subscribing! I really like the POR CS, too! Lots of options!
I know! There were so many things that I wanted to try and just didn't get the chance.

Subbing! Can't wait to read more! :surfweb:

You will love it!

I love Kona Cafe Breakfast! Last year I had the Big Kahuna and really enjoyed it. The pancakes were my favorite on that plate so this time I picked the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes.

100_0495.jpg

The first couple bites were heavenly. The pancakes were soft and fluffy and that macadamia nut butter is soo good. I found after a while that it was a little too rich of a dish, and there was quite a large amount of nuts in the batter (a little too many for my taste) but still a very good choice.

T always gets the Tonga Toast:

She has a love affair going on involving any food with bananas. She loved it once more. I got to snag a piece- it is very good. A nice balance between soft, warm french toast with bananas and sweet strawberry sauce. I might have to get this next year.
(oh yes there will be a next year :rotfl:) I wish Kona was a little more organized at their check in though. We had a ressie and waited about 25 minutes...which would have been OK, but a walk up party of 2 got seated before us??? What can you do...it was worth the wait :goodvibes

We went to the MK after that very satisfying breakfast. Later that afternoon we stopped for a snack at Auntie Gravities. T had an iced coffee mocha float, and I had a strawberry banana smoothie. Both were refreshingly delicious!

That Tonga Toast brings me back to breakfast in bed on our honeymoon! :goodvibes. I love the food at the Poly! I will FINALLY be eating at O'Hana when we go in Feb. Reading your review makes me wonder if I should squeeze in a breakfast at Kona ....

Those pancakes are my favorite! Nuts and all! Kona is my must do breakfast and I can't wait to go there in Feb :cool1: Sorry that the nuts were a bit too much for you - you'll have to switch back to the Big Kahuna next time. :thumbsup2 My DD's favorite is the Tonga Toast so it's nice to be able to steal her breakfast too! LOL!

Your pictures are great. Too great because they are making me really crave some pancakes!;)
