I hope I am posting this in the right area ... can someone share with me what the weather is usually like at the end of November beginning of December? I am not sure what to pack ...

For reference I live in the Canadian Rockies and we already have over a foot of snow so anything at this point would be warmer!! Lol!

Thanks!

We are going in early December and from what I have read on here it can be anywhere from freezing to mid to high 20's Celsius. We are in SK and it is -15 and we have a couple of feet of snow already so really anything above zero is going to be t-shirt weather for me. And if it is above 15 degrees, probably shorts weather! My plan is to wait until a couple of days before to pack and look at the long range forecast for when we are there and then pack accordingly but being sure to pack some layers just in case. I have heard that it does get cool once the sun goes down so I am going to be sure to pack a fleece to wear in the evening and long pants.

You can expect anything from shorts and t-shirt weather to down in the 5-10C range. Possibly both. The key is to bring layers so that some combination of clothing will be appropriate for a wide range of temps.

Keep a eye on the weather channel (32830 is the zip code for WDW) as you get closer to your trip to see what the 10 day forecast is. Keep in mind that it will be wrong, but it does provide some guidance as to what you may experience. :teacher:

We were there in December and had traveled from snow and cold. We wore jeans and tshirts as it was in the 60s and sometimes 70s. I kept a light hoodie with me to throw on when it was cold. Had to pack a variety just in case as the evenings seemed colder.

We were there from 11/26-12/3 last year and the weather was GREAT each day.

Cool enough that we wore sweatshirts for early morning and late evening excursions, but warm enough between the hours of 11am-5pm-ish (dusk) than shorts/jeans and tshirts were just fine and a couple of days was actually a bit warm.
There was one thunderstorm one afternoon that lasted less an an hour and dropped e temp by about 10-15 degrees in that hour, but it warmed up again in a couple of hours.
In my opinion, it is the BEST time of year to go!
Not too cold, not too warm.
That is why we are going just after that week again this year!
:)
Enjoy your trip!!

I would recommend watching the weather a few days or so before you head down. We were there this past week and it was pretty chilly a few of the nights (40s for highs at night), and then we've been in December when its been in the 80s during the day and in the 60s at night. It really varies at that time of year.

Hello!

I am not going to be able to do any temp conversions at the moment so you are getting this in Fahrenheit! :D But I can say that it is best to just pack all of the above. For warm and for cool. I can't bring myself to say for COLD weather since you are obviously experiencing the real deal. 60's can feel cold to Floridians. lol. It's honestly still pretty warm in late November and early December. 70's are a safe bet during the day still. It can get colder, of course. We've had some chillier days recently (Okay it was low 60's during the day and low 50's over night,) but now it's back to the 70's. So like I said, it's best to pack for both (jacket, sweater, pants) but overall geared toward warmer weather should be just fine. Good luck! :)

We'll be there around the same time as you and I am dreading packing for my 3 girls. It's still a couple of weeks out but right now it's looking like highs of 22-24 ish... I'm thinking they'll probably wear pants and tshirts most days and a sweatshirt in the morning/evening. I'll also bring a light hat and gloves for them just in case. It can get cold in the evening waiting for parades and fireworks.

I have been following the weather for the past 3 weeks and will keep following it - but it looks like we will have to do the layer effect! Anything that is above 60 is shorts weather for us. Our current temp today is around 32 and will only get colder! Thank you for all the replies!

This is us too! It's 22 here this morning and if it's even in the 60's when we arrive, we'll be toasty!

We live in Atlanta and were Disney World the week after Thanksgiving. We are going this year on 12/3. Last year we didn't even wear the jeans we brought, but did do a lot of layering. We took maybe 2 pairs of jeans, t-shirts long and short sleeved, a sweatshirt and the rest were all shorts. 55 and above is shorts weather for us. It may be chilly in the evenings, but it was still humid. We saw Fantasmic one night and didn't need a winter coat.
I rode down there with jeans, t-shirt and a cardigan on, but switched to shorts when we got to the Orlando airport. An hour plane ride ended up being 10 degree change.

Great information - was just wondering the same thing. We leave for Disney in 5 days! Looks like I'll be planning on layers just to be safe.

We leave in 7 days and looks like I need to repack. I think I have way too many winter clothes. We went in Jan. 2011 and froze at night. Sounds like layering is the way to go.

Yes, you probably did pack too many winter clothes. January and February are the two coldest months in the south. When you are moving around so much, you keep warm.
The nights in Orlando can get chilly, but the days will be still be warm. And you can always wear jeans and sweatshirts multiple times when they are not worn all day. WDW resorts also do have laundry on site.

Some people say they wear winter coats at night in Orlando. Living in Atlanta... I don't even own a "winter coat".
I had some when we lived in Chicago, but have not needed one since living in the south.

Last year, I ran out of "underclothes" from taking multiple showers throughout the day because of sweating. And yes, this was the first week of December!

We were in Disney last year December 2-8 and wore tanks and shorts the whole trip. One day the high was 90. Unusual beautiful December weather. This year we will be there the week after and are packing layers. Looks to be a lot cooler than last years weather for us.

We were there the same week last year. And yes, it was pretty warm. This year the south cooled down alot earlier, but still switching from heat to a/c in the house every other week!

We just left Saturday and weather was low to mid 70s in afternoon but 45-50s in the mornings and night. We wore pants and short sleeves with jacket or hoodies and long sleeves at night. There were a couple nights we wore long sleeves jackets and even gloves! It got pretty cold especially if you do the late emhs! Enjoy

Like one of the other posters, I live here. Last year was unusually warm so anyone that was here then experienced something not normal.
It's been in the 70's during the day and the 50's at night. The next few weeks should be close to the same.
