Hello all!

I have a few questions regarding the spring advantage program 2013 (im in attractions:)

1. What is the best way to get a roommate? DIS Boards/Facebook or through Disney's roommate matching site?!
----Related to that, on Disney's matching site do they include drinking and smoking on the survey?! Because I want to make sure I have someone with a big NO here:)

2. How does signing up for classes work?! Could I take 2 at a time, I am in the advantage program and I was hoping I could just take 2 and be done with in in may or whenever they are done and then not have any for the summer months:)

3. I accepted my offer Oct. 5th and got my postcard a few days ago, but on my dashboard i still don't have anything that says congratulations or all the information regarding starting the program?! Is this normal?! (Is this where you sign up for classes?) I'm kinda freaking out about this and find it annoying:)

that's all i remeber for now....so thank you! have a magical day:D

1) Using Disney's matching system is the only way to guarantee placement with a specific person prior to arrival. Those trying to pair up through other means are doing so under "wishful thinking". Disney may or may not honor those requests due to a variety of reasons. If someone wants to pair up and guarantee it, they have to use Disney's system.

Everyone who is under 21 is automatically assigned to wellness housing (no alcohol). Those over 21 have the option.

All apartments are designated non-smoking. They don't ask about that. But a lot of people do smoke, but it isn't allowed inside any of the apartments.

Here is a link to an article on their blog matching:

This is for last semester, but the system should more or less be the same for 2013.

2) Advantage programs can typically take 4 courses over their span. Most arrival dates cover 2 course terms. Someone can take up to 2 courses per term.

3) You really won't see much change on your dashboard. People put too much emphasis on the progress bar that doesn't really change too much. What you should look at is the listing of communication you are sent. That will change much more than the progress bar will. Especially as the check in date nears and they start sending out a bunch of reminders to read and do stuff.

Hello all!

I have a few questions regarding the spring advantage program 2013 (im in attractions:)

1. What is the best way to get a roommate? DIS Boards/Facebook or through Disney's roommate matching site?!

- there are groups on facebook that have thousands of people in them, so it may be better to look there. people have been posting surveys about themselves, where they want to live, if they party a lot, and stuff like that. i feel like on here it would be cool, but there aren't enough people, you know?

----Related to that, on Disney's matching site do they include drinking and smoking on the survey?! Because I want to make sure I have someone with a big NO here:)

- i'm not sure, but i hope so. if i decide to do that, i really want to make that a point that i dont drink or smoke or party even and i would really like it if my roommate was the same way, or at least keep the partying to a minimum, as long as there's no drinking or smoking.

2. How does signing up for classes work?! Could I take 2 at a time, I am in the advantage program and I was hoping I could just take 2 and be done with in in may or whenever they are done and then not have any for the summer months:)

- there's an onboarding website, you should have gotten an email, and under the education tab it says what classes are offered and where you can register for them.

- i'm not sure really. i got my email a couple of days after my phone interview, and i got my postcard a few days ago. i got all of the emails a while ago though, right as i completed each step asked. if nothing shows up, i would call and just make sure, because i know the last email i got i had to give Disney my soc. sec. number and things like that to prove that im able to work in the US, they called the email additional information or something like that.

that's all i remeber for now....so thank you! have a magical day:D

i messed up typing my answers, they ended up in your quoted message!

thank you khancock and NHSchool2012! :)

helpful! disney just sent me an email about the "Disney Look" and then continued to give me the link to the onboarding site,it just doesn't work when I log in under my name, so its weird. ha but anyway:)
