Hi again! Just want to let you know that I also locked down another trip for Feb 25-March 1. We have minimal ADRs for this trip so we are going to fly by the seat of our pants on this one. May make for interesting reading :goodvibes

I know you aren't full recruiting for February yet but wanted to post while I was thinking about it!

I'll get your trip added to the February list. We will have to see how it goes the next couple months, but if I'm still doing this thread by the end of February then I'd love to receive your updates again. :thumbsup2

Hi Barb! I'm back from Vegas and just caught up with 12 PAGES of yummy live updates!!!! Glad to see some of the live reviews from some familiar Disers as well as some wonderful photos of BOG and the food offered for that new place.

Thanks for keeping this live thread going!! :goodvibes

I told Linda that I'm in for a Nov. Dismeet... just need some dates and I'll definitely be there. :)

Hi Brenda...welcome back! :wave2: How was Vegas, did you win any money? :lmao: I'm very excited about the Nov. meet, but I did see Linda's post on Nicki's thread that her boss was giving her a hard time about taking time off in November. :worried: Hopefully it will all work out though. I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed and calendar open for next November. :thumbsup2

Vicki, you forgot the ice cream :lmao: You should have had Todd order it for you lol! I wonder if they will continue to have it in just 26 days..or maybe a gingerbread one!

So glad you are enjoying the F&W, make it a yearly thing! :thumbsup2

Hey Nicki! I know you aren't doing your dining review live on your December trip but if you would consider doing a few live updates for this thread, please let me know. Though the reporter schedule is full at that time, I would definitely squeeze you and Todd in. The Scavenger Hunt will be over by then, but I have something else in mind for the December team. ;)

That looks RIDICULOUSLY delicious!

I thought so too and told Vicki how very jealous I was! ;)

That soup is enough motivation to make me want to book Artiste Pointe. Of course, it's too soon to even start making ADR's for our next trip. I have three more months to think and rethink and plan and replan, and then schedule and adjust! ;)

Hi GM! :wave2: Good to hear from you. I've been thinking about you and hoping that you came through the storms okay.

Hi everyone. I will be doing live updates for Dec 8-15th. I have a PTR done that has all my schedules ADRs listed so you can see what I will be reporting on!
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?p=46680662#post46680662

My family and I have 3:40 reservations at Coral Reef on Friday the 14th.... Maybe we will bump into you!

It would be funny if I received Coral Reef updates from both of you at the same time. :lmao:

I have a couple of F & W Fest updates from Vicki and Candice but need to run some errands this afternoon. I'll get them posted, along with any others I receive while I'm out, tonight so please check back then. :thumbsup2

Hi Barb! :wave2: No, I didn't really gamble because I was too busy with conferences, parties and clubs - oh the life! ;) I posted a few photos of my dinners on my DR! It is a horrible habit to take photos of your food when eating at nice restaurants! :rolleyes1

I saw Linda's note so I'm on stand-by for now. I'll likely be going earlier in the year but can book a shorter trip later. I just have to leave time for a family cruise in late summer or early fall.

Enjoy your Sunday my friend! :)

Urgh - my "lovely" new boss has issued a directive that nobody can take vacation in November!!

After several days of trying to talk him round I've had to admit defeat and switch my vacation dates :(

I spent all of Friday on the phone changing flights and hotels so we now going to be in WDW for the first two weeks of December 2013

The plus side is that we get to enjoy the Christmas festivities but the down side is that I'm probably not going to be out there at the same time as everyone else :(

Anyone free to meet in Alaska in June!

Candice sent this update this morning regarding the F & W Festival Culinary Demonstration that she and her DH attended.

photo11-1.jpg

Candice said, "We attended the culinary demo with Warren Brown yesterday. He showed us how to bake a blueberry bundt cake. He was a good speaker but the cake wasn't all that good. Maybe it was just not to our taste? :confused3 They served wine (Jarvis Merlot) as well, but the servers actually forgot to give me a glass (after asking me to take out my ID too). I'm not really into red wine so I didn't complain (also because it was hard to get the servers attention)."

Barb- the storms were terrible here, but once in awhile I'd pop on this thread via my phone and look at the yummy food. It was a spirit lifter while we were in the dark (literally). Most of the food from our fridge/freezer had to get tossed, and you know how much I love my food!

We had some damage to the property and will need to put a new roof on the house, but I'm hoping insurance will cover the bulk of the expenses.

Candice and her DH also stopped by the F & W Festival for lunch yesterday.

Here is what they tried...

FW-CC7.jpg

From Desserts & Champagne: Nesquick Frozen Strawberry Foam

Candice said, "This was just alright, wasn't really frozen."

FW-CC8.jpg

From Australia: Shrimp on the Barbie with Pepper Berry Citrus Glaze

Candice said, "The sauce was good, flavourful."

FW-CC9.jpg

From Scandinavia: Rice Pudding with Driscoll's® Only The Finest Berries"

Candice said, "I didn't like the texture, took some getting used to but it wasn't bad."

FW-CC10.jpg

From South Korea: Chung Ha Soju Fruit Slushy

Candice said, "It didn't have much of a fruit taste, but it was refreshing."

FW-CC11.jpg

From South Africa: Seared Filet of Beef with smashed Sweet Potatoes and Braai Sauce

Candice said, "The filet itself was good but the sweet potato wasn't to our taste. It was a small portion but we couldn't finish it."

FW-CC12.jpg

From Italy: Cannoli al Cioccolato
(Chocolate Covered Cannoli Shell Filled with Sweet Ricotta Cheese, Chocolate, and Candied Fruit)

Candice said, "Very good but pricey for the small portion. I would get it again if the line wasn't too long."

And then a non-F & W Fest booth snack...

FW-CC13.jpg

From the permanent kiosk in Japan: Kaki Gori

Candice said, "This was nicely sweet and refreshing but it was huge!! We added some sweet milk to it to add flavor." :thumbsup2

Let's see that's 5 new booths visited (South Korea a repeat) = 5 points + 1 bonus point for the Scandinavia rice pudding + 1 point for the Kaki Gori

From Italy: Ravioli Di Formaggio all'Emiliana (Baked Cheese Ravioli with Creamy Beef Bolognese Sauce, Parmesan Cheese, and Mozzarella)
& Salsiccia e "Papacelli" Napoletani (Sweet Sausage, Red Pepper, Ciabatta Bread)

Vicki said, "The sausage was really good. The ravioli, not so much. It may actually be the worst thing I have tried. It was very flat. Not much flavor."

Today is Roma & Mr. Roma's One Year Wedding Anniversary...they were married on 11-11-11.

They began their special day by heading over to the Contemporary Resort to have breakfast at...

Chef Mickey's

Roma said, "This was Mr. Roma's choice. ;) Here is my carb laden plate. The only thing I didn't like was the cheese blintz...that thing was flavorless."

Then they spent the rest of the morning touring the monorail resorts before heading back to their resort, now the Beach Club, to spend the afternoon at Stormalong Bay.

Their lunch from the Beach Club Marketplace was eaten poolside...

Roma said, "Mr. Roma and I both thought this was an excellent sandwich. We got it hot, but it can be served cold. The chips were crunchy and full of flavor. The Marketplace is small but what they do serve is prepared well." :thumbsup2

I also received this update from our other reporter, Cyndi (cyndiloveswalt)...

Cyndi said, "Sorry we've been kind of MIA today. We ate breakfast in the room and did Pizza Planet for lunch, but everyone was so hungry that I forgot to take pics. We all had pizzas and Caesar salads, which were fresh and tasty...especially the salad.

We shared Mickey-shaped pretzels for a snack while we enjoyed the Osborne Lights!"

Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Goat Cheese Polenta, Roasted Mushrooms, Zinfandel Glaze, and Sage

Roma said, "We were seated at a table overlooking the Magic Kingdom about 30 minutes before Wishes. Unfortunately they brought our food out right when Wishes began, so our food got a bit cold. However, it was still very good. I had the pork tenderloin, which was very tender and paired perfectly with the polenta."

As I had told you yesterday, chocolateMinnie (a former live reporter from the UK) had problems with the internet during her recent trip to Disney World. DS had the rib-eye, DH had the NY strip, DD had the rack of lamb and I had the Mushroom filet. All delicious. Interestingly on this trip we were told categorically that all entrees will only be served either with the advertised side order or fries, no other substitutions are available. Would we return? Definitely! :thumbsup2

For dessert DD had her usual ice-cream, DS the white chocolate cheesecake which looked amazing, DH had the cucumber, melon and mint sorbet and I stayed with my usual maple creme brulee."

DS had the American breakfast. DH and i had the Kouzzina stacked breakfast. Also had the pressed pot of coffee, cranberry juice, green tea and water. The American breakfast looked ok but nothing special. Our stacked Greek breakfast however was awesome...would definitely return for that alone. Fantastic food and amazing service!" :thumbsup2

chocolateMinnie said, "One of our most enjoyed buffet breakfasts ever at WDW - would highly recommend it. The tomatoes were filled with some type of blue cheese mixture. I adored them and I don't even like blue cheese. :thumbsup2

Wish we would have gone here again but we didn't get the chance. It was also the cheapest buffet of our stay (we paid oop) and was very, very quiet at 7.30am.

No pictures of lunch or dinner on Tuesday as we went to Seaworld. Our counter service there was way more $$$ than at WDW and worse quality, but we did enjoy the park and the Dolphin Up close tour. That evening we did the Food and Wine Festival but I'm afraid I didn't take photos."

Our first update of the day was emailed to us by Candice (Candycane83).
