Use DP for FF or pay OOP?

We will be staying at Boardwalk Villas for 5 nights in Feb and will be using the standard DP. We've made our ADR's and I'm trying to figure out how to best use our credits. We have an ADR at FF our first night and I'm not sure if we should use the 2 credits or pay OOP and save the TS credits for a lunch or breakfast somewhere else. I've heard that signatures are not the best use of TS credits, however, we are already paying oop for CRT since they wanted payment in full and I haven't purchased the DP yet. As far as the FF goes, it's myself, my husband and my 8yo daughter. However, I know we will order at least 1 appetizer and some adult drinks. Which is the better choice?

First thing, you can still use your DDP credits for CRT if you choose to. I believe they get full payment from everyone up front, but will either not run it or give back once you've actually attended. If you're going for dinner, I'd definitely use DD's credits at CRT as it is a value even at 2TS for her.

As for FF, I think you need to look at the menu (allearsnet.com) and see what you might eat. It could be a value at 2TS if you order the most expensive entree and dessert, but it quickly begins to lose value with other options. The same for DD. It looks like it's a la carte for the kids, so if she doesn't want the app or wants a the grill cheese instead of the steak, paying OOP is the way to go.

The Sigs are often not a good use of the DDP because they take 2 credits and often the cost of an entree, dessert, and fountain drink divided by 2 credits comes out to less than the cost of a 1 credit meal. For example, on allears the most expensive entree (NY Strip Steak $42) + dessert ($9) + soda (about $4) = $55 divided by 2 credits is $27.50. At the same time at many of the 1 credit places just the entree will run about $25 - $30 and then you have to add the value of the dessert and beverage. Depending on where else you're planning to eat, FF may or may not be the best use of the DDP.

CRT, on the other hand, may turn out to be a good use of 2 credits. It depends on which meal you will be eating there. CRT is all-inclusive, meaning the DDP will cover the gratuity as well, something not included in most of the other TS places. If you decide to use credits, just let your server know and they will credit back your credit card.

Breakfasts are rarely a good use of a TS credit - unless you're doing buffets - because you'll only get an entree and a beverage at the a la carte TS restaurants.

In the end it's best to look over the menus, figure out what you'll be ordering at the various restaurants and determine which will give you the most value for your TS credits.

Totally agree. Using the DP for a signature meal is not the best use of 2 TS credits. i'd pay OOP at FF.

Thanks for the advice. I think now that I'll pay oop for FF. Not sure about CRT b/c it's already paid for. I might want to use the 2 extra TS credits for something else. Maybe a breakfast or a lunch. I still have 1 day with no ADR's planned. I'll just need to find a way to use all my CS's.
