Say it ain't sO'hana!

Someone told me this weekend, while I was at WDW, that they removed the pot stickers from the dinner. PLEASE tell me this is not true! We all love the pot stickers! Does anyone know??:confused3

We were there a little over a week ago and we had pot stickers.

We thought Ohana was good. I agree with PPs, everything was fresh and cooked well. We would definitely go there again.

I still love 'Ohanas! We have a tradition of eating there on our first night of the trip. You just cannot get more Disney than 'Ohanas! I love the food, mostly because of the dipping sauces, yum. The one thing that bugs me is that they skimp on the portion sizes of the meat. They act like they are doing you a huge favor by giving you more than 2 pieces at a time. Service is so-so, but food is worth it!

This year we are trying Be Our Guest for the first night, but going to Ohanas for the second night.

We ate there last month and had a great meal. We had a perfect table in front of the windows which I was never able to get before. Watched fireworks from the halloween party and also had great service. I don't think there was anything that disappointed us. Is it gourmet food? Absolutely not but everything was fresh and hot. Re do look forward to eating there because it wouldn't be a Disney trip without out.

It's the only WDW restaurant that we decided to eat at twice during our 10 day trip last month if that says anything.....:thumbsup2

We think it's great!

Just ate there tonight (11/10) and must say, we had a great time. Our server was very nice and attentive to our needs. Childrens entertainment too. The food was excellent - beef was perfect, not rubbery at all. Chicken was very tender and marinated well. Pork and shrimp were spot on, too. I'd guess that some would say we were lucky, but it was definitely a great experience, and we'd definitely do it again!

We ate there in September. DH loved it. I did not.

For starters, I could do without the parade of cranky children that lined up twice while we were there for the race. We were apparently seated alongside the racetrack. Really disruptive with kids falling over my feet and whining, crying and screaming for a variety of reasons.

The food was hot, fresh and plentiful...I just didn't like it. The sweet marinade they use on everything made me want to gag. I don't do sweet when it comes to meat. I prefer savory. The broccoli couldn't have been more boring. The noodles were meh, and unfortunately also sweet, as was the bread. I thought the potstickers were okay (a bit over cooked). Dessert was okay. Nothing to rave about.

DH however LOVED the flavors of everything.

Service was GREAT. Very attentive server. Quick refills. Everything we could have hoped for.

What is with all the O'hana hate? Had it always been here but since I'd never eaten there until my last trip I didn't notice? I didn't think the food was amazing but it was really yummy and fresh and super fun. My DH, DD12 and her DBFF 12 all thought it was their abso

I loved Ohana until Wed nite! Never had a bad meal or service until Wed! And it all hit the fan!!! We were seated at 8:30. A little late but I expected it because of wishes. NBD. We get the bread and wait. Finally Tiffany comes with the salad and gets our drinks. We wait and wait. DH goes to the rest room and tells me not to eat all the wings. Lol. Not to worry when he got back we still didn't get them. So I use the rest room with the same warning. Again no wings. Finally they come. Along with potstickers and cold noodles. We didn't care the noodles were cold because we were saving up for all the meats! We sat again for a long time. The wings and potstickers were gone so I ate more salad :scared:
The chicken comes out and we each got 1 piece. And he walked away. After another wait out came shrimp. I don't eat shrimp so I told my 'cousin' to give DH mine. He got about 10. He didn't remember he had to peel them :confused3. His 2nd one was so salty he spit it into his napkin and was done with shrimp!!. Finally the pork came. They have changed it which I knew about but this was something I almost spit onto my plate. Ididn't like it at all. He ate some but only because he was hungry. Tiffany comes to see if we were ready for dessert. I tell her we haven't even had any steak yet! She gets a skewer and I ask for more well done. She drops 2 hershey kiss sized pieces on my plate and a couple pieces on Pauls plate. Mine were good but tint. His first piece was good but the 2nd was grizzly. She brings the dessert which was good but by now it is 10:10! We just wanted to leave!! $72 for 2 people ( we were on the ddp) this was the worst dinner of my life never mind WDW!
Wont be back any time soon. Too bad because the 4-5 times I have been before were great! Sorry it is so long but I had to vent!!

What a differance a couple days make!!

I've been several times and always enjoyed it. But the last time (Jan) was the first time the services has been bad. We waited a long time to get everything. Very odd.
I would go again, but if the same thing happened again I would put it low on my list and wait to hear if things improve.

I hate to hear the bad reviews. Ohana is the one restaurant our family must eat at each trip. I'm not even a big meat eater. Something about the service, food, atmosphere, view, etc. combine has alway made it our favorite Disney dining experience. I remember taking my 83 year old grandmother about 12 years ago. She complained that we were leaving the park to go and eat. I was afraid she would have a stroke if she found out how much it cost. We were seated as the sun was setting and the castle was lighting up. You would have thought she had died and gone to heaven. She loved every bit of it and received as much attention as my three year old. I didn't think we would get her it of there! She kept asking me how much it cost and I kept avoiding the subject. On the way out, she stopped a waiter and asked him, and to my surprise, she told him that was the best deal she'd ever heard of. she still talks about it at 95!

We'll be there for Easter this year and the kids stood around my computer at the crack of dawn to see if we could get our ADR's! One bad experience here probably wouldn't turn us off, it holds years and years worth of memories for us, and even if we only had one day to visit, it would include dinner at Ohanas!

My least favorite place is Chef Mickey's, though people love it. I can't stand the place, but we'll be there this spring as well because it's my nieces first trip and I happen to know SHE will be delighted! I'll keep my opinions to my self and smile and pretend to enjoy!

What food was served to you??? This is what you should have recieved:
scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, bread, fruit, mickey waffles, juice, coffee, etc. I believe thats it? Is that what you got?

I don't recall getting any sausage or mickey waffles:confused3 I also recall it being small portions for the food we did get. By no means are we big eaters, but there are four of us and there was barely enough for all of us. Can't say anything about our waiter being attentive either.

I really hate to sound so negative. We are not negative people and we love all things Disney and are big fans of Disney restaurants and their food. I do notice all the rave reviews so I'm sure we just had bad luck:sad1:

oh wow that's awful. sounds like you were ripped off. not a very good server. i would complain to Disney. maybe they can get you a partial refund. same thing happened to me, even thou i complained months after my trip.

ohana dinner is a must do fav for us. If I couldn't get an adr, I'd change the entire trip. I am a little nervous about them messing with the menu, as I see they changed the menu at SOA, and the salad went, which I believe is the same one as Ohana. Please did et, dont change the menu.

Last time i was there a waitress was walking around with a platter of Mickey waffles. I did notice if she ran out and had to get more she did not start back at where she ended so i guess it would have been possible to not get any waffles.

We had terrible service and my husband was shoved by one of the characters (who never came back to our table either) while we were interacting with another character.

I thought how they seated new groups while customers had been over an hour to see the characters was poorly done as well.

The food was fine. But we won't go back.

We ate there last Tuesday and there were potstickers and all the usual food.
We love it there. Have been at least 8 times.
This is the first time we had bad service though......it was so slow. It was just our server, maybe new, but it was painful.
We ran into a family from another table and they complained too.

But we will go back every trip.

Missed you by a day we ate there Weds.:)

Love Disney and Love All of the Restaurants. :yay:I should be honest, I just love to eat and eat and eat..... :lmao: When I retire, I plan on working at WDW. :rotfl2:

Gota Love It.... :thumbsup2

No O'hana love here either.

The dessert was incredibly delicious, but other than that, the food was just okay. Certainly not worth the hype: I could take it or leave it -- I we opt to do just that, leave the ADRs for people who really love it.

(The kids entertainment was pretty dismal when we were there. Didn't seem like there were many kids who were into it, so that vibe probably spread to the enjoyment of the food.)
