Resort Board Community :) .... General Resorts discussion, open to all!! :)

What a great idea for the thread..... I've never stayed at any resort more than once. I loved Poly and BC... Liked POR and CSR. My son and i are trying our first value.. POP when we take a long weekend trip in January.

So, since our upcoming April trip will be the first time staying in one of the Epcot resorts...can someone send me a list of things not to miss or take advantage of while staying there??? We will be there for 10 nights! :yay:

We are already looking forward to SAB, checking out Boardwalk, the short walk to Epcot...anything else??

So many things!!! :) Movies on the beach, ice cream at Beaches n Cream, the ESPN club, sushi and karaoke at the Swan, surrey bike rentals, so much more I can't even think of off the top of my head. We love that area! :goodvibes

Such a fantastic picture! I have my fingers crossed that the villas will be a more modern take on luxury with victorian touches, which would lead to a renovation of the resort rooms. I'm very anxious to see them. Hoping they make the perfect addition to the resort. I'm going to try to stay there shortly after opening if all goes right.

I'm assuming they will add some turrets or something to pull the two resorts together visually. They should incorporate some of the elements they used in the Cinderella castle suite, like the hidden TV! ::yes::

My kids love the boardwalk entertainment! :) It's especially nice when the parks all close by 9:00 pm and you need stuff to do before bedtime. :thumbsup2

I'm trying to decide where to stay in January after BLT. Part of me says it would be easy to do the CR... we can just walk over there with our luggage and easily switch rooms. Another part of me says go for something completely different, like the Epcot area or Kidani, so it seems more like a new resorts. Currently we are doing BLT for 3 nights, leading up to the marathon, so the additional 2 or 3 nights would be after the race. BWI might be a good choice, normally we do YC/BC for SAB but since it's winter time that really isn't a factor. Hmmmmm.... not sure what to do.:cloud9::goodvibes

The Wilderness Lodge would be nice if you don't feel like doing a lot of walking after the marathon. ;) BWI would probably be my choice after staying in the MK area.

I know the winter time makes BC/YC a hard choice, that was one of my issues for Feb. Are you set on a split stay? Why not BLT for the entire time? I tried to convinve myself to do YC in Feb, but CR just makes more sense for my family (I think ;) ).

We rented points for just the 3 nights at BLT and that was all he could get us there. So we definitely have to move to another resort. I'm thinking either CR, BWI, or AKL would be good choices but I'm really not sure. All the holiday stuff will be over, the decorations will be down, and I'm guessing the weather will be chilly. So swimming isn't a factor. I wish they'd release the AP rates for January. :worried::worried::worried:

I can't make up my mind which I like best!
We recently returned from a BC/BWI split stay and I keep waffling (mmm...waffles)....what was I saying? Oh yeah, I keep waffling on which resort I liked better. I've also highly enjoyed the GF, BLT, S and D, CSR, DL...that's right..I refuse to call it POR , WL, and AKL.

I think what's great is that whatever your'e in the mood for...and whatever your budget will allow, Disney has a "home" for you.

I suppose if I had to rank all my Disney stays right now.....eeek....this may change by the day, but for today...here goes....

1. BWI
2. BC (there's about a .0000000001% difference between this and #1)
3. GF
4. Swan
5. Wilderness Lodge
6. Dolphin
7. DL (ok...POR)
8. BLT
9. CSR

I really want to try BLT...but I love club level..and I love gf...and wl...to say I have no idea where to start...we have two wl cl rooms on August..but a 2br blt would be cheaper and a w/d...with five kids...unfortunately I don't always book sensibly..

I admit I'm a bit leery of BLT after reading so many people don't like it. But I'm going with an open mind. I expect to walk to the CR for pretty much anything we might need, and I'm OK with that. We plan to walk to MK and monorail to Epcot most of the days we are there, so that will be convenient. I agree with you, we are CL people and love it, but I'll try anything once. ;)
