The Dis Goes to Italy 5/24 - 6/1/2012 Viva Italia!!!!

This blog made be laugh after all of the bathroom variations I've seen in Europe over the last year.

I blame my complete lack of accomplishment that happened during today on you and this blog Christy! It's my new favorite. If I had a blog I would want it to be just like this one!

I did pass a pizza place today called Dino's and thought of, well, Dino and Marilee. So today wasn't a total waste.

Also started Christmas shopping. Lookit, I know it's not even Halloween yet, people! I KNOW! But, consider, I have to have everything bought, wrapped and now shipped as my stupid family decided to move away BEFORE we go on 4.0, which is in 50 days. So if you look at it like that, I'm actually a little behind.

It really is hard to get in the mood to Christmas shop when you still break a sweat when you go outside. Which is why I shopped online with the air conditioner turned way down and a sweater on. Just kidding. I've only got the one sweater and I haven't gotten the ladder out to get it down from the top shelf in my closet yet. And that I'm NOT actually kidding about! :dance3: But I did shop QVC. It's so cheesy, but I love it!

4.0! :beach:

I know! It is definitely one of my favorites!! I've developed a lit bit of a travel blog addiction as of late. The Everywhereist was my gateway blog.

Hilarious! Italy took the prize for wild variations on plumbing options. One of my favorites was in the tiny bathroom of a bar in Venice. The toilet flushed with a pull cord just like the one that made Chatty Cathy talk. Every new bathroom provided a new adventure...

I also killed quite a few hours very pleasantly with the everywhereist and all the places I went to from her blog.

I hope everyone living in the coastal areas are okay. We've been thinking about all of you, plus that scary shooting in Savannah. Did you have any damage?

Has anyone heard from Marilee, Micky, Kathy or Lauren ?

Sadly there's always some scary shooting in Savannah. :sad2: I'm glad it wasn't us though for sure.

I've seen Micki post on Facebook for donations to the Staten Island Knight of Columbus Chapter, so they must be in good enough shape if they are out helping others. And Marilee posted on my wall after I reposted Micki's thing that she was glad to see they were okay. So Marilee is okay. Kathy, however, I don't know about.

Times like these remind me how uncertain life is and how much more important your friends are. :grouphug:

Hi everyone

Dino and I are just fine. We were barely kissed by Sandy.
Of course, our local weather forecasters were geared up for disaster. They seemed disappointed when nothing materialized ....

Micki and John are being evacuated again due to the NorEaster coming in. Poor guys just can't catch a break.

Glad to hear that you had no impact from the shooting, Lauren! I know what you mean about the uncertainty of life. Hug your friends and family, people!

So happy that you and Dino are doing well. Poor Micki and John! To be evacuated again...and so soon!

I'm very glad to hear that all is well. I hope that Kathy and Frank are also okay. Let's hope that NorEaster goes far away.

So glad to hear that Lauren and Jeri are safe in Savannah.

Group hug to everyone.

Thanks for the good thoughts, but Cathy and Frank are fine.

Lost power for good while, minor water and very minor damage to the house, but no real problems.

Best wishes to Micki and John, hope things settle down for you soon. Please let us know if you need anything.

Good to hear!!

Me too! It breaks my heart to have it happen now, but I can't tell you how many times I have counted my lucky stars that we had such perfect weather -- and were able to do all the things we did.

Hope all are still doing well in the northeast.

WOW!! That is incredible!!

It's really amazing to see this - I'm making sure I have boots when we go again :thumbsup2

Luckily, the water receeds almost as fast as it comes in. The locals tend to take it all in stride.

Here's a link to another article with a lot of pictures

Ciao :)
Thanks Marilee. Now that I've had time to actually read all of the link you sent, I feel much better. Nice to know the water receded so quickly. I'd like to read more of the author's posts. I found it very interesting.

Wow. WOW! Not just regular boots, but hip waders to go on the packing list for a winter trip to Venice.

Thanks for the link, Marilee. I'll enjoy reading the rest of the blog.

I've only had the chance to read a few of her postings, but they are spectacular reads
