After Pixar, Marvel and LucasFilm, Is Disney Now Trying To Acquire Hasbro?

Geesh, what's next? Disney is bound to run out of money someday.

Actually this could bring in more money. At least that's why acquisitions are done traditionally.

Hasbro owns Wizards of the Coast, the makers of Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons. Would be some strange cross-marketing there, for sure.

that's the point...to control the entire process from start to finish and only pay for "raw material" overhead.

no profit cuts, licensing fees, partnership agreements.

nothing...

just a bunch of suits in the boardroom dividing up the piggy bank: "one for me...one for me...one for me...one for me...one for me"

Why? They would be far from having a monopoly in any of their business areas.

I'm not saying it wouldn't clear FTC review, but it will certainly be looked at. And yes, there are plenty of red flags as far as anti-competition..

Beastly kingdomme!

To tell you the truth I thought it would be a video game company next. How much is Sony worth?

I guess that I just keep hoping that I'll see Disney do something creative. Maybe they will once the dust settles.

It clearly states in the article that they would then own monopoly. ;)

Well Walt did like Railroads. Just think the could have the B & O, Reading, Shortline and Pennsylvania railroads running all over Disney. With new resorts of Park Place to go with the Boardwalk that they already have. :):):)

From a cost control perspective, this would make a lot of sense. I also think the licensing (similar to Marvel and USF) is huge. Keep the license agreements, sit back and collect $$$$ without any expenses or effort. Sounds like a good way to keep the cash flow strong.

Oh geez...now I have to get involved...

The real problem is that there are already hotels put up on boardwalk...once somebody lands on it...immediately mortgaging of Marvin Gardens and the Electric Company
