Princess Leia - one of the Disney princesses?

Now that Disney has purchased the Lucasfilm empire, we're all wondering if Princess Leia is going to be officially added as one of the Disney Princesses. I think it would be cool especially if they add Princess Leia and Queen Amidala. I'd like to take a picture with Princess Leia, especially is Disney let's her walk around the park in her slave bikini outfit with the hair buns. :cool1::darth:

I kind of doubt it, although I've seen a couple of funny fan art pieces placing Leia with the other princesses. Not to say Leia won't be in the parks ever--that's certainly a possibility. But I really doubt Disney will market her as a "Disney Princess." That brand is aimed at a different market.

The slave bikini outfit and the one with the hair buns are two different outfits from two different episodes.

I doubt she'll be added as one of the princesses, though.

She is - from a certain point of view

Gotcha. I think it would be a bizarre hybrid! :lmao:

It probably would be. If Disney does add Princess Leia, I'm sure they would never have her dressed as slave bikini Leia and let her walk around the Disney parks like that. Too many parents would complain and that would be the end of it. I think having her walk around in her white outfit with the buns would be more likely.

I feel like technically she is a Disney Princess, but not branded with the Disney Princesses. I feel like she will be like Giselle, but in the parks more.

I doubt that she will be added in the Disney Princess line up. I can't see her wandering around Cinderellas Royal Table :lmao: She might be in the parks more but she won't be added to the regular princess line up. It's quite a different demographic they are aiming for.

Simply stated, Disney is not going to put a live-action character from a film they didn't make in to their classic princess line-up. To think there is a chance of it seems a bit silly haha.

That being said, let's continue with more of the photos please, haha

My thoughts exactly.

Leia already IS a Princess. But, I don't think she'll ever be "official".

I agree

Giselle is kind of an interesting case, though... as she is not--and never was-- a princess.

I actually like the idea of Princess Leia being added toe hte Disney Princess line up.

I think she and Luke already meet and greet during Star Wars Weekends.

I don't see her being an official "Disney Princess", but I could see her being out as a face character more often.

This made me think...is one thing that should come into DHS a character meal with Star Wars characters? Wouldn't they be able to charge the same ridiculous prices for a character meal with Luke/Leia/R2-D2/Chewbacca as they do to meet a bunch of princesses? I know I'd be more interested in the former!

I saw this youtub video today and it made me think of this thread. It's the Disney princesses welcoming Leia to the Princess family. :rotfl:

For like two seconds I thought this was real. :rotfl:

OK I need a true Star Wars fan to help me out, but is Leia really a princess? AKA the daughter of a King, Queen or Chief or married (no shacking up:thumbsup2) to a Prince.

Her birth mother was a Queen but, and this is where is gets odd, isn't that in her culture a one year elected position? Oh and don't get me started on her father. :darth:

Her title comes from her being the adopted daughter of Bail Prestor Organa and Queen Breha Organa. Does that count? :)

So just like Giselle the point is moot.

But really a "Disney Princess" is a marketing term. Its who ever can sell the most stuff.

I do thought see some new hairstyles at BBB.
