BOG without a reservation?

We are going to be in WDW in January and would love to eat at Be Our Guest - of course, the problem is I can't get a reservation.

Do they hold any tables for walk ups?

If I arrived right at 4PM opening, what would the possibility be?

What will be the main difference between lunch and dinner if I have to do lunch?

We are looking for 1/24. I do have a reservation for 1/21 but would prefer to be there for MSEP on the 24th instead of the 21st.

So, if it looks like dinner is best and there is no chance of a walk up at 4PM would you keep 1/21 and do MSEP that night or just do lunch and MSEP on 1/24?

Sorry to be so confusing - thanks so much for any help in getting this processed and decided on!

I am in the same boat as you.. I will be there the same week and no sign of an open spot for 2. I am looking forward to any answers as this new restaurant has more Dissers dining there:wave2:

I'm not sure, but I very much doubt they will be holding any tables for walk-ups. If you want to be sure to be able to eat there for dinner, I would just keep your current reservation.

It's always possible that someone will cancel, since it has a credit card charge for no-shows. So best advice I could offer is keep what you have, and keep stalking the reservation site, several times a day.

Like a pp said, I don't think they save any tables for walk-ups.

There is a big difference in the lunch and dinner menus. You can see the details here. I'm counting on the food being great for both!! ::yes::

Good luck!! :hippie:

Do they hold any tables for walk ups?
. . . no
. . . it is in too much demand

If I arrived right at 4PM opening, what would the possibility be?
. . . slim-to-none

What will be the main difference between lunch and dinner if I have to do lunch?
. . . check the menus
. . . entrées vs sandwiches, basically
. . . of course, the other difference is the huge line for lunch

. . . do lunch

NOTE: For any new eatery in a park, without a ressie, you are out of luck.
Your only chance would be waiting in line at lunch. You could always keep
trying and hope for a cancellation, but such demand and such a premium on
ADR's, the odds of people canceling is slim.

1. No. Disney doesn't hold tables for walkups.

2. I would not count on being able to get a walkup at all that soon after it opens. That said, it is a very large restaurant and you can certainly try. But be sure you are prepared to be turned away.

3. The lunch and dinner menus are available online. You are seated in one of the dining rooms for lunch, you cannot visit the other dining room.

Sometimes people have to cancel their trips 45 days out and then some reservations will open up. Keep checking the site several times a day. I'll bet you'll get what you want!

KEEP TRYING. For sure. We're Florida seasonal residents, and all of our adult kids and spouses/fiances visit us from the frozen North over the course of Jan-March. We were just going to try or BOG counter service until we figured out they serve alcohol at dinner. At which point, it was well past the time they had opened up the reservations. Bottom line...we're going to WDW 4 times during January-March 2013, and at first there was no availability for any of our dates because we didn't get on the reservation site immediately so everything was booked at first.

But, I just kept trying, and so far I have gotten reservations for 3 of the 4 trips. The one trip I cannot get reservations, it might still be OK that I don't, because those 2 guests are the picky eaters of the crew, so they might not be all that happy with the menu there (and one of them doesn't drink at all, so the appeal of getting a glass of wine in the MK is not all that for them either.) Anyway, all our party sizes are either 3 or 4. I just kept trying, putting in different times as well as just choosing "dinner" on the options. I was not picky about what time our meals are, so if a reservation came up, I took it (we have no little kids and no first timers so we can arrange everything else at MK around the dinner reservation time. What I ended up with is everything from 5:15 PM dinner to an 8:45 dinner on a night the park closes at 9:00. We're OK with that, have seen Wishes a kazillion times and would rather try the new restaurant with our guests than see the fireworks again.

So, Keep trying. You may get in...

You can also keep an eye on the January cancelled ADR thread, over on the reservations board. Subscribe to it for email updates - this way, if someone cancels for the date you want, you can snag it.

If it were me, I would keep the dinner ressie you have (unless you're able to get one for the date you want, of course). Lunch will be nice, but I really think dinner will be worth experiencing at least once.

I noticed that Josh at easywdw recommends MSEP viewing for 1/24 rather than 1/21. Do you have the option (or are you planning) to have two MK days? Or do you have hoppers? If you have hoppers, you might plan to spend the day in another park and just do dinner at MK on 1/21. If you don't have hoppers but can do two days at MK, you could just plan to save the MSEP for 1/24.

Yes, only during dinner and it cannot be taken with you out of the restaurant.

Very cool ... Wondering why the switch and whether other places will follow suit

Thanks everyone! I think I will keep the reservation I have on the 21st and then keep checking for a Thursday time and change our MSEP plans if I get it. With the way I have our schedule, we can be flexible with this.
