We brought our own coffee pot with us when we were there in January with no problems. I had called ahead and spoke with a manager and he said it was fine. I just made sure I unpluged it when not in use.

We are going back next month for one night before we head over to CBR. For some reason we always make our way back to sports..

I want to try to save some money by having breakfast in the room. I know if we make our way to food court for coffee we will end up eating there also.

CBR was comfortable and clean, like every Disney room I have ever been in, just wasn't my personal taste. I like things a bit more flashy.

They now have free wifi too and you can use a corded connection the room. If they put microwaves in it will be nearly perfect. :goodvibe

I agree, a microwave would be the last thing on my list. I thought about bringing my own since we drive, but feel like that may be borderline obnoxious. I think we will survive a week on cold breakfasts.
Now, if I find out others have done it, all bets are off!

I'm just not a huge fan of Disney coffee. Our first stay at cbr. We usually stay "flashy" too! No kids this trip so trying something new!

MacRaven, I regret to inform you that in downsizing from an 18 room house to a 2 BR condo I had to get rid of almost everything we owned.

HOWEVER, being a smart cookie I took pictures of items so that I could take my memories with me.

I am pleased to inform you that a digital photograph of your LGM made the cut.

Never fear, I shall catch up with you one of these days.

OK now God forbid the moral police find these posts and we will all get an earful but I do bring my own 4 cup coffee pot. I once saw a room that had food coating the whole wall by the table. It seems the people who stayed had a bunch of electrical appliances and used them often but forgot how to clean up after themselves. It was awful and sad for the maid.

I hope everyone enjoys their upcoming trip and has the time of their lives.

Ang, it is the one percenters who ruin everything for the rest of us reasonable people.

I do not care for the use of electrical appliances in rooms because I am sharing a roof with those who are not smart enough to be careful.

The solution is to put microwaves into each room and thus contain the messes.

Disney could make a fortune by having a nice 24/7 convenience store in the food court and by having plenty of outdoor seating for those who want to nuke their own.

Let me translate what Slightly Goofy said............


I always take a stack of LGM with me when I stay at Sports.
Whenever I see a window has been decorated, or a notepad attached by that room's door, I leave a LGM and a note.


Some peeps respond on the Dis, some don't, but I enjoy letting Sports guests know I stopped by and loved their decorations.

Slightly Goofy and I have been playing 'tag' for a long time now.
Haven't found her at Sports as our dates are not the same anymore.
but there is always the chance it will happen again!!

Do you have a favorite time of the year when you go to DW? Do you go anywhere else in Florida?

since about 2004, i am at the motherland for about 9 days/8 nights.
(some years it has been 11 nights)

on the average, i go to the motherland about 9 days prior to columbus day.

the past years that means i am at Sports around sept 24 thru early october.
then i move to the darkside for 9-10 nights on site there.


it usually works out the last week of september i am always at the motherland resort for the starting period.

when i go other times in the year, it is late spring.

never in the winter as i can't count on O'Hare/chicago, not having weather delays or changes.
Milwaukee can be just as bad.

the airports can clear up more easily than the highway getting from my home to the aiport.

The next trip will be the first we have ever made while trying to spend less. We are usually in full-blown-anything-goes vacation mode while there.

Since we live in FL now, have annual passes, and grandchildren, we are trying to keep costs lower. The less we spend, the move often we can go.

Bringing along some groceries was my first "thrifty" thought since Disney food is over priced and not great anyway.

BTW, what is an LGM?

Too funny that Home Depot no longer carries the LGM. I wonder if they ever figured out why that was the color sample most people took but never bought that color paint. Did they discontinue the color or stop the MH chips?

SG, I am getting too used to you and just figured if I understood it everyone did. lol

I believe I was at ASSp at the same time as Macraven once as well. End of May beginning of June. Our paths never crossed sadly and all we had in the window was whatever my DS chose to put there. Usually a Mickey bear and other toys or towel animals if we get them. When we have decorated it is always fun to get little notes from other Disers.

I decorate and even have a magnetic holder for people to leave notes in. One year I had so many that I pretty much just stayed at the Food Court to meet all those wonderful people.

Truth is I do not like the GF et al because I like to go barefooted and I sometimes scratch where it itches.

I just love running around some high rent places because some folks act like my fat is contagious. If they really tick me off I will go in a dress shop and act like I want to try something on.

Not sure, but you could always get the line green plain paint chips and buy a Mickey head punch in the scrapbook aisle at a craft store and make your own.....
