Artist's Point or The Wave?

My 60th birthday is December 1st. When I made my ADRs months ago, I did so thinking my parents might be joining me. My dad uses a walker and I thought Cape May would be a good choice for getting him close to the restaurant. Don't know if that would have worked out or not, but it's now a moot point because my dad isn't well enough to travel. My sister is coming down instead and she wants to do MK that day and won't have a park hopper ticket. I can still get ADRs for Saturday at either Artist's Point or The Wave. Which would be easiest to get to from the MK with the idea of going back? And what are some opinions on the restaurants themselves?

I greatly appreciate any information you all can give me.

The Wave would be the most convenient to the Magic Kingdom. It's less than a 10 minute walk from the gates of the park to the restaurant. You can take a boat from the park to the Wilderness Lodge. It takes a little longer, but it's still very convenient.

I do not like the Wave's dining room. It's dull and feels like dining in a cafeteria. No ambiance or intimacy whatsoever. It's just a big, open, brown, square room. The menu is improving, but I don't think it's very special either. I do, however, love their lounge. It's very cool and relaxing. You can order from the full menu in the lounge, so if you choose the Wave, that is what I would recommend doing. If there are seats in the lounge (and there always are) you can just tell the podium that you have a reservation but you prefer to take your meal in the lounge instead of the dining room.

Artist Point is excellent, and I feel it's more appropriate for a special, celebratory meal. You'll feel like you're really treating yourself when you dine there.

It all depends on whether you would like to walk, take the monorail, or a boat. However, like the PP, I have to suggest that you select Artist Point for dinner over the Wave. We love the Wave's breakfast buffet, but Artist's Point's dinner selection, service, and ambiance far exceed that of the Wave's dinner service. Happy bday & have a great trip!
