Wait a minute, I'm 40, when did this happen? Nicki & Todd LIVE reviews! Completed!

Great pic of ya'll! I love the wine bar in Italy and I don't think everyone knows about it yet because it's always available! Shhh let's keep it that way ;). Oh and don't worry about us not meeting we will get it done next time...Have fun!!

The zucchini and your entree at Tutto Italia look incredible. I also really enjoyed Tutto Gusto, and your reviews are making me really hungry for Italian food.

Lovin it!! More great reviews! Upsetting about my blueberry pancakes at Boma...I'll be upset if they are not there when we go! I am so glad you tried that banana cupcake...want that baby!! And, I would like to try to grab one of those fall ones at Contempo!! Have you seen signs of the great pumpkin one from last year?

Your Tutto Italia food looks amazing - especially the veggies. I learned long ago from one of my bella Italiana friends that I should never say "sauce" it's gravy!! ;) Bummer that the whoppie pie was a waste. It sure looked good. But that banana cake, I have my eye on that!

Waiting to see if Boma is a three-peat during this trip! :)

OMG- I saw on your menu that they have pici pasta now at Tutto Gusto- that is my FAVORITE pasta of all time, they serve it in Tuscany- usually with ragu, but in Italy (the REAL Italy, not the Epcot Italy:)) it is with wild boar ragu (cinghiale...mmmmmmmmmm)- I think I can adjust to the lamb version in Epcot though! :thumbsup2 Thanks for posting those menu pics- alot has changed since I was there last May (when it had recently opened).

There's a restaurant in Epcot called Tutto Gusto with delicious-looking deli sandwiches?! Well, you learn something new every day. Im going to have to check that place out. Thanks! :thumbsup2

F&W looks scrumptious as always. Greece and Ireland are definitely two countries I am dying to try! I did have the Bailey's chocolate cake (hello tiny!) last year.

That cappuccino cupcake from the bakery in the Land is calling my name. I can hear it loud and clear. :cloud9:

We did Boma for dinner last December and I was very impressed. It looks like breakfast there would be just as impressive :)

Can't wait to see what happens next! :goodvibes

Awesome reviews! All that F&W stuff...yum!
Just noticed we are going to be there in December at the same time! Where are you staying?

Beer Time! It was right at 11am so we just ordered one small of the Berry Weiss. Now I do not like beer but this was awesome! Very light and a touch of fruit to it, planning on getting 2 the next time so we dont fight over it :lmao:
if you liked that beer, the purple haze from the same craft beer stand is pretty good, has a berry flavor on the finish...my wife loves those. and they are 100 times better from the draft they pour there than bottle you buy in store...berry weiss, is a very good beer also, glad you tried it.

I had the Angry Orchard Hard Cider - Crisp Apple. This was great, had a sweet bite to it and went down easy
we loved this one too, nice crisp flavor on a hot day...

have you tried the rojo veija from the caribbean stand? that is some really good flavored meat there.

we also enjoyed the marinated teriyaki beef from the japan stand.

all the italy dishes.

the kefta pocket was a good seasoned beef from morocco as well.

enjoying seeing the food pics, reminds me of our trip.
:thumbsup2

Oh no, I'm so heartbroken that the Red Velvet Whoopie Pie was a bummer! I hate when something is advertised as red velvet, but lacks that distinct flavor. I think sometimes they just take white cake and dye it red. Well, thanks for being the guinea pig for them anyway! Now I know not to waste my calories on them. :thumbsup2

MMMMM Bop is easier to listen to when you are drinking! :thumbsup2

Okay, this just made me LOL! :lmao:

thanks for posting the photos of the goodies from The Land... I had a photo of the banana cake but no sign so I didn't know what that was. Question answered!

You're killin' us with your amazing F&W selections! Oh my! Sounds like dropping by Tutto Gusto is worth the trip! :)

Sorry :rolleyes1 F&W is my favorite time to be at WDW...so much to do and see and eat and drink!

I'm not going to say a word about this, not a single word. All I'm going to do is :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Do you think he can get us a walk-in at the Crystal Palace for breakfast while we are there in December? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

He might be up to that challenge!

Hi Nicki, joining in at long last!
We're here at WDW too and eating a lot of the same stuff as you are.

Can't wait to hear more:)

Hope you are having as much fun as we are!

AWESOME picture of you two.:love::love:

Awww, such a cute couple. :)

Awesome reviews...I do not know where Todd puts all that food. :)

Jill in CO

Thank you both! I have tons on our photopass too, cannot wait to check those out. Todd is a bottomless pit!

You two look wonderful. So would you go back to Tutto Italia?

Thank you and YES I WOULD! We might try to get in later this week

Great pic of ya'll! I love the wine bar in Italy and I don't think everyone knows about it yet because it's always available! Shhh let's keep it that way ;). Oh and don't worry about us not meeting we will get it done next time...Have fun!!

Thank you, we are very photogenic this trip! I have got to get back to the Italian Cave!

Lookin great!!! Sooo tan!!!!! Love!! That banana cake looks amazing!

Thanks! The cake was very light, refreshing almost

The zucchini and your entree at Tutto Italia look incredible. I also really enjoyed Tutto Gusto, and your reviews are making me really hungry for Italian food.

Go get some quick! Hope to get back to both later this week..so good!

I am thinking they change the menu every day? The only way to know for sure is to go back for a third time :lmao: No signs of pumpkin yet but we are moving over to the YC tomorrow and will check out the BW Bakery for sure

I love my veggies! Banana cake was great, wish we tried the carrot cake cupcake, maybe tomorrow?

OMG- I saw on your menu that they have pici pasta now at Tutto Gusto- that is my FAVORITE pasta of all time, they serve it in Tuscany- usually with ragu, but in Italy (the REAL Italy, not the Epcot Italy:)) it is with wild boar ragu (cinghiale...mmmmmmmmmm)- I think I can adjust to the lamb version in Epcot though! :thumbsup2 Thanks for posting those menu pics- alot has changed since I was there last May (when it had recently opened).

I am finding alot of menu changes...different from all the websites and APPS too. I appreciate it when other Disers take the menu pics so I am repaying all of you!

There's a restaurant in Epcot called Tutto Gusto with delicious-looking deli sandwiches?! Well, you learn something new every day. Im going to have to check that place out. Thanks! :thumbsup2

YES! It is between Tutto Italia and Via Napoli...I really want more of both!

F&W looks scrumptious as always. Greece and Ireland are definitely two countries I am dying to try! I did have the Bailey's chocolate cake (hello tiny!) last year.

Greece is my favorite! Yes that cake is tiny but it is so rich!

That cappuccino cupcake from the bakery in the Land is calling my name. I can hear it loud and clear. :cloud9:

It did look very good

We did Boma for dinner last December and I was very impressed. It looks like breakfast there would be just as impressive :)

Can't wait to see what happens next! :goodvibes

Boma breakfast is our favorite!

Awesome reviews! All that F&W stuff...yum!
Just noticed we are going to be there in December at the same time! Where are you staying?

We are going to turn in points for a free stay at the Dolphin, just 6 more weeks!

if you liked that beer, the purple haze from the same craft beer stand is pretty good, has a berry flavor on the finish...my wife loves those. and they are 100 times better from the draft they pour there than bottle you buy in store...berry weiss, is a very good beer also, glad you tried it.

We did try that tonight, not my favorite but Todd enjoyed it, they sell it at Total Wine and More...hope they sell Berry Weiss too!

we loved this one too, nice crisp flavor on a hot day...

Agreed! :thumbsup2

have you tried the rojo veija from the caribbean stand? that is some really good flavored meat there.

Not yet but plan on it tomorrow

we also enjoyed the marinated teriyaki beef from the japan stand.

I loved this!

all the italy dishes.

More F&W for sure tomorrow!

:thumbsup2

Okay, this just made me LOL! :lmao:

Such a disappointment and a waste of money!

This morning started off rainy but quickly dried up. I managed to get Todd to MK for rope drop but it took some bribery on my part

Me: We are going to MK early tomorrow

Todd: Whats your idea of early

Me: Rope drop

Todd: Are you nuts?

Me: You can have a huge cheese danish from Main Street Bakery

Todd: Deal

So we were up and about early, go to MK by 8:30 and waited. We were the first ones in the Main Street Bakery. I had issues with the CMs though, I wanted the ham egg cheese omelet but I didnt want the croissant....I know I can peel it off but I really didnt want to do that because it sticks and I wanted what I wanted! The told me no, they are all premade and I cannot get just the filling. I said ok, fine, these are premade, are there any in the back that I can have. Answer was NO!

So I ordered it as is, Todd had one too. Then he did the slip of the mind move. As I was taking pictures the fool ordered the cinnamon bun. Come on, not this again!

Me: What the heck do you think you are doing?

Todd: Do you see the size of this thing?

Me: Babe, you do not like these, we go through this every single time and every time you dont believe me so you get it and you tell me it tastes like a stale cinnamon bread with nasty icing on top

Todd: No way, I love these things

MKearlyam005.jpg

MKearlyam006.jpg

MKearlyam007.jpg

We get a table, doctor up the coffee and I try to peel this pathetic limp croissant off my egg and it will not come off easily. I get it off the best I can and start to cut up the ham and cheese omelet. The sucker is freaking ice cold! THe cheese is one cold blob in the middle of the egg. How long were these sitting out? I was turned off, Todd was turned off so they went in the garbage can

MKearlyam008.jpg

MKearlyam009.jpg

MKearlyam010.jpg

As I am sipping the coffee I quietly observe my husband as he attempts to eat the loaf of blech.

Me: Whats up buttercup, why are you stabbing your precious cinnamon roll

Todd: Because the thing is rock hard and I am trying to find a soft middle

He finally rips the thing apart and eats a few bites.

Me: How is it?

Todd: Like stale cinnamon bread with nasty icing

Me: When are you going to learn?

Todd: Probably never...where else can we eat?

It is at that precise moment I slap my forehead with my palm and say DOH! I completely forgot about the new waffles by the Hall of Presidents. We high tail it over there and order the nutella waffle with fruit...we both love that. Again we were the only ones there and had to wait 3 minutes for them to make it.

MKearlyam011.jpg

We liked the fruit, the waffle had absolutely no taste whatsoever and there was hardly any nutella on it. I took a bite and had a nice size piece of metal in my mouth..rough metal. There was still half the waffle left and I brought it up to the little manager kid with the metal and explained what happened. All he said was "Thats part of the lid to the nutella, want me to throw this away or are you going to keep eating it" Nothing else, no apology nothing.

So breakfast this morning was a total bust and left a bad taste in our mouth. No way did I want to eat lunch at MK, I was scared off! We did hang out a bit in MK and soon it became super busy. We jumped on the monorail and stopped at the CR for that wonderful cupcake I missed out on the other night

Gingerbread with apple/cranberry filling and maple walnut buttercream.

MKearlyam012.jpg

MKearlyam013.jpg

Holy moly...can you say we died and went to cupcake heaven? THE best cupcake I have ever had in my life! The cake was so moist and had a great gingerbread flavor, the filling was sweet and tart and didnt over power the cake but the winner was the maple buttercream frosting. So creamy smooth, so packed with flavor...we were fighting over it! I would and did go out of my way to eat this again and again and again!

As we sat there with dueling forks the topic of lunch reared its ugly head...where to next Todd?

As we sat there finishing our cupcake we went through the lunch options. MK was out, Epcot was out, too hot for AK, HS isnt our favorite. What about resorts, nah. Ok lets go back to DTD and get something, but where?

Luckily a bus pulled up for DTD so I ushered him on it before he could change his mind. The idea was to take the boat back to POFQ but they shut down the boats today because of the wind.

WPE was slammed, EOS was out, Pollo Campera looked kinda sickly but I did manager to take pictures of Babycakes

MKearlyam014.jpg

MKearlyam015.jpg

MKearlyam016.jpg

MKearlyam017.jpg

TRex was packed...no go on anyplace else at that end so I suggested Bongo's, another new place for us. Todd said yes so we were on our way!

Thank you! I've been hoping to see a detailed review of that spiced apple cupcake, and oh boy did yours deliver. I wish I could fly down to Orlando right now to taste it. Too bad it took some disappointments at MK's Bakery and Sleepy Hollow until you finally tasted something enjoyable.

I'm glad to see that Babycakes still has the french toastie cupcake! It was great. :thumbsup2

Yay for trying another new place! The restaurant wasnt that busy but as we sat it did start to fill up

MKearlyam029.jpg

I had the coconut mojito and Todd the pineapple mojito. They were so good, the best mojitos we have ever had, the rum is very high quality. We quickly drained the first ones and promptly ordered another round :thumbsup2

MKearlyam031.jpg

After a few of those I was feeling very silly and happy and if I was back at the resort I would have wanted another one!

Todd went with the port tamale, he didnt like it. All corn and no filling

MKearlyam032.jpg

MKearlyam034.jpg

MKearlyam035.jpg

I went with my favorite, cuban pork cubes. Incredible! Lots of flavor, very lean and tender

MKearlyam033.jpg

For his entree DH ordered the cuban sandwich with fries. He said it was fantastic, real roasted fresh port and carved ham, lots of pickles too!

MKearlyam036.jpg

My choice was the churrisco steak and avocado salad with the mango chimmicurri on the side, The steak was super tender, a few slices of avocado, lots of spinach and other baby greens. I didnt like the dressing so I ate it plain but I did dip the steak into the garlic oil the server brought..that was fantastic! I gave my tostone to Todd and he said it was just eh, no flavor and not worth eating

MKearlyam037.jpg

No hesitation, I would eat here again in a heartbeat! Yes the cocktails were AMAZING but the food was wonderful too!

As we were leaving DTD to go back to the resort, we were laughing it up and I hear:

Hey, you are Todd and Nicki!

Yes it was an impromtu Dis-Meet! Dvc4life, Christy (sorry if I spelled it wrong) and her family found us in all our tipsy glory :rotfl: Turns out they were going to Bongos tonight for dinner so we told them to get anything with rum :rotfl2:

She also tipped me off to blueberry martini's at Raglan Road, we tried to get in but the bar was pretty busy, have to get back there for those as I love anything blueberry.

Next up was a nap and get prettied up for dinner at Epcot!

Bongo's looks great! It's definitely going on my list (but I'll save it for when I'm old enough to order a mojito ).

Woah, what a bad start to the day in MK! I'm shocked by the apathy at Sleepy Hollow...why yes, we left part of a LID in your $6 WAFFLE, would you like to finish eating it? Adds some zinc to your blood! I mean really?! That waffle was number one on a list of things I wanted to try that I never got to this time, now I'm not so intrigued anymore! Sheesh!

But ohhhhh that cupcake looks like such an excellent pay-off. What a great combination of flavors!!

I would have been hightailing it to the front of the park and guest relations immediatey about the issue with the waffle. There is no excuse for that at all.

Toddleduck, when are you going to learn about that darn cinammon roll? :lmao::lmao:
ues

Dinner was not my pick, it was Todd's, Teppen Edo. He loves hibachi and requested it, even though they do not serve the same stuff as our local place and is much more expensive and do not take the TIW I booked it anyways.

On the way in we needed to try a new beer, Purple Haze. I didnt like the Purple Haze but he did, we both agree Berry Weiss is better

mknight005.jpg

mknight004.jpg

mknight006.jpg

Over to Teppen Edo and we were seated right away. Here is the menu, dont see one online anywhere

mknight008.jpg

mknight011.jpg

mknight012.jpg

mknight013.jpg

mknight014.jpg

mknight018.jpg

We both had ice green tea and normally we really enjoy this but these tasted like plain water

mknight020.jpg

We each had a salad, one with ginger dressing which DH liked and I didnt and one with creamy sesame that tasted like peanut sauce and again DH liked it and I didnt. So guess who ate both salads?

mknight021.jpg

mknight022.jpg

The sauces from top to bottom are yummy yummy sauce (a creamy garlicky sauce for fish), spicy mustard and ginger. I didnt like any of them but Todd liked the mustard.

mknight023.jpg

mknight028.jpg

mknight032.jpg

mknight035.jpg

I had the shrimp and asked for no rice or noodles but please give me extra veggies. They said no. I asked if they had broccoli, they said yes. I asked if I could have that. They said no. I was getting frustrated, Todd said if we pay for the broccoli can I have it, they had to check with the manager and they said yes, for $2 I can have it. FINE, all I wanted was some freakin veggies!

mknight036.jpg

mknight037.jpg

mknight041.jpg

My veggies were great but they do not use any butter here and I really missed the garlic butter my hibachi place uses. The shrimp were great, cooked perfectly. I gave the mushrooms to DH because they were just too mushy. One thing that really bothered me was the place was freezing cold and my food turned to ice really quickly. Basically I had to speed eat it or eat it cold...either way is not fun

Todd had the chicken and shrimp. He ignored the plain rice, said the noodles were ok but he loved his veggies and the rest of his meal

mknight039.jpg

mknight042.jpg

The food was good, the show was fun and he enjoyed it so that was all that mattered...it was his only pick, or was it?
