Question regarding Check In arrival times.

Hi there.. Any current CP's or Alumni tell me how early you arrived for check in. I have read that they do not allow people to line up earlier that 6:45am but have also heard that CP's are lining up as early as 3am because they want to be assigned to Chatham or Patterson. Is this true?

I'd be really surprised if security let people in at 3am because that would require extra security to deal with them. (Note: to get into Vista on check-in day, you have to show proof of being in the CP. So you are stopped at the gate and can be turned away.)

My dd got there early (about an hour before check-in was supposed to begin). She was close to the front of the line on that day. At her point in line, there were plenty of two-person apartments at Chatham available, but she wanted more people than that and chose Vista. She made out fine and feels the idea of Vista being some sort of pit and party place was vastly oversold. To be honest, we and the rest of her roommates' parents all thought Vista was way nicer than the dorm rooms at their colleges.

What kind of proof do you need to bring? Should we print our acceptance letter?

I saw that everyone is posting about checking in for their apartment and everything, but right on my main page it says that I am in Vista already? My check in date isn't until February 11th, could that be the reason?

Vista is just where everyone checks in...when there, you get to pick your apartment complex. We all got "vista way" on our dashboard

I've been wondering too.. I heard that some people line up hours ahead of time and say it's really busy, but then from others that they get in line about an hour before and they still have a full selection.

I'm hoping for a 1-br in Patterson, but I'll be alright I think with 3 other roommates if that's all that's available. I know I don't want more than three though. Based on what I've heard, I think I'm gonna try and line up 1-1.5 hours before the scheduled check-in time just to be sure. I'd rather sit outside for a bit and know I have a better chance than get there right as the gates open and run the risk that I won't be placed where I want to be.

We arrived one hour early at and was the 3rd one there. In the end, early arrival didn't seem to matter much. Everyone lines up at the entrance and then a cast member leader will move the entire group to another area and the "line" can change a little as people regroup. Also, have all of your auto info and proof of insurance so you can register it as well.

The line moves fairly quickly and you are assigned to a roommate based on who is in line next to you (if you have not designated anyone). After sign-in, we went directly to the apartment and unpacked.

In spite of our early arrival and being prepared, this was Spring Advantage and due to a later arrival date, the only availability was with 7 others in a 4-bedroom. Some advantages to the larger group included rent was less, and apartment was larger. Once you arrive at the actual apartment, you get to meet your apartment buddies and decide who will be your roommate.

You have a housing meeting in the evening so you'll review the rules of the apartment complex. The early you get assigned to do complete Traditions, the better because you get your free entrance into the parks!

When I arrived back in Feb. I woke up and got in line by 6:45 and there were roughly 25 people in line ahead of me. I ended up getting put in an empty 2br apartment in Vista Way (my preference and i got 3 roommates later that day). However, about 2 days before my program was scheduled to end in August I locked myself out of my apartment at 1am because I was emptying trash and doing final packing. I went down to security to get them to let me in and there were 5 people watching a movie on the bench. They said that they were the first ones in line for checking in. 1am and security was letting them sit there... :confused3 And yes most people don't want Vista so they ask for Chatham or Patterson, but everyone agrees Vista is the best for socializing and Patterson was designated as the "retirement community".
