Which way does the dream pull into cc? We have a verandah on the 8th deck on the starboard side and was wondering if it would have a view of the inhabited side of the island and the lagoon.

The Disney ships usually back into the pier at Castaway Cay. Occasionally they won't though, usually because of maintenance needs on the other side of the ship.

We have always had a room on the starboard side of the ship and we have always backed into castaway. Our room has always faced the beach :)
:cool1:

When I went on the Dream they didn't back in, but that's because they were doing drills with the lifeboats on the aft side.

They backed up when we went in June. Our friends had an room allllll the way in the back like Very back of the ship and while waiting for the tram I could see them n their Balcony:goodvibes

a port side cabin on the Wonder (left) and we backed in. From what I see is they do that most of the time. you would have a beach view if they are backing in

I think you may want to look at a ship diagram more closely. It is sometimes hard to figure out. Port side is left (you are correct). Therefore, if the ship backs into the pier than the family beach would be on the other side of the ship. If the ship just pulls right into the pier then the port side would face the family beach.

On the cruises we have been on, the ship just pulls straight forward when leaving Castaway which means they had to back into the pier. The front of the ship was facing the open ocean.:beach:
