Discovery Cove discount with American Express

I did. We've decided to cut our stay at Universal to 4 night and do 2 at the Springhill Suites to take advantage of the express passes. I am looking forward to a great trip!

For those without Amex wanting to get in on the deal, AMEX now offers a free prepaid card. There are no fees to obtain the card, and if you reload with your bank account, its free.

When I was looking at the AMEX cards it seemed that most of them had no annual fee. I won't have a card that does have an annual fee. Hoping mine arrives this week so I can buy my DC tixs!

We have the Amex Blue cash back card. We put everything on it, especially groceries and gas. We get cash back at the end of the year. No fees but I am not sure what the interest rate is as we pay it off each month. Best card I've ever had.

Adorelc -- cannot thank you enough for posting about this deal. With tax I saved $149 on my 2 tickets. Yay! Yay! Yay! :)
Amex arrived and ticket are bought. DC, here we come!

Discount worked!! We checked in and mentioned the discount & they had the refund receipt ready for us on our way out!! Thanks for he/she who posted it!!

I ordered one of these a few days ago, and just got an email that it's being delivered. Once I get it, I am going to load it up with just enough to pay for six of us, and keep it long enough to present it at the gate. After that, it's going in the shredder! :thumbsup2

Here is a new discount posted if you have an American Express card. I hope this helps someone, we are going next month and are so excited!

I got this offer two years ago (they usually offer it around this time) and I have been hooked ever since. The place is amazing!!!!

I bought our DC pass using this AMEX discount, before I saw this thread. Now, going thru this thread I realized it is for US residents only. It did not notice it previously. Funny thing is that when I was making my purchase, I had to state if I was US resident or International. I chose international. Gave my Singapore address as well. Purchase went through and I have received all my e-tickets. Now, I really dunno what to do. DH says to just leave it. At worst, we top up at the entrance. We have not lied, and stated everything clearly. My tickets show my overseas address too. :confused3

Does it say anywhere on the web that it is for US residents only? You made the reservation, used the web form, honestly filled in all information including international, and it let you check out at the discounted price? Then you should get the discount! You didn't do anything deceptive or to trick the system. It didn't tell you it was US resident only. I'd just go in there with confidence that you used a valid discount.

I just went back to check the web page and there is indeed a fine print there that says it is for US residents only. I must have been too excited when I spotted the discount and missed the fine print :sad2:

Well, I would pretend I hadn't read the fine print. If their system isn't set up correctly to take note of you checking the "international" box and still allowed you to pay the discounted rate, I think you should get the discount. I'm sure when you walk up and hand them your printout to get in they won't bat an eye.

My voucher doesn't even show the price I paid. All mine says is to please provide the voucher and photo ID at the gate.

Our vouchers don't show the price we paid too.
Thanks. We'll just show up with these tics and see what happens.

Or, to relieve your mind, send them a quick email with your concerns. They will get back to you pretty quickly, in my experience.

I am guessing you will have no problems. We were able (as Canadian residents) to purchase Aquatica Weekday Passes for our August getaway that are listed as for "Florida Residents Only". When they didn't have a comparable offer for non-Florida guests, I called to inquire. They put through the purchase for me right on the phone with the reassurance that I would be fine :thumbsup2 and would have no problems using the passes.

If you are like me, you like to have the reassurance that your vacation will go smoothly. I would say to address your concerns via a quick email to guest services, then you can relax and not stress about your amazing day at DC.

You are fine...we are Canadian and went earlier this month using the AMEX deal. Have a great time!

Bummer for me, I'm going in january. I axed Discovery Cove from our plans because of the cost. Too bad Amex did't extend that offer into the new year. Otherwise i would be back in.
