How often do you watch your Disney movie collection?

I have a fairly comprehensive collection of Disney dvds and blu-ray discs and I watch at least a couple of them a week. It averages out that I watch most of the discs about once per year. I also find that while I enjoy modern day Disney films, most of my favorites are from the 50s and earlier.

If you have a big stack of Disney movies how often do you watch them? Do you have just a handful of favorites while the others collect dust? :earsboy:

My college age DD and I watch Disney movies at random and in spurts.

Over this summer we watched Fox and the Hound, Cinderella, Monsters, Inc. all of the 101 Dalmations ( animated and newer).

We watched The Little Mermaid, Jungle Book and 101 Dalmations this weekend with our Grandson.

Ron we have a little granddaughter we're looking forward to indoctrinating into Disney. How old is your GS? Our little one is only 14 months so we haven't started yet, but 2013 we'll def. be watching some of the classics.

BTW, This week I watched Bedknobs & Broomsticks. With all the potential that movie had, it looks like a second rate Mary Poppins. The music, the acting, the sets, the animation...almost looks like knock-off stuff from another company.
Maybe that's not a fair comparison in that Mary Poppins is one of the all time best movies from any company.:earsboy:

Mica, Our Grandson is 5 years old. He has loved the Mickey Mouse clubhouse since he was about 2 years old. We went to WDW when he was about 2.5 years old and he loved it. We worked with him to learn the characters and he just loved meeting them. Months before we left he just kept saying he wanted to meet Buzz & Woody so that was the first thing we did. The classic Disney movies and the newer Pixar movies are so great. That's why kids of all ages are still watching them 50 - 70 years later. I agree with you about Bedknobs and Broomsticks. I st ill love watching it from time to time but it has always seemed a poor cousin to Mary Poppins.

My daughter is three and can now sit still through a whole film. I'm really enjoying digging some of the classics out and we are slowly getting through them at a rate of about one per week. Some of them I have not watched in years. However we have to watch Tangled at least once a week as it is DD's favourite.

I think it is so cool that Tangled will be a classic to her when she grows up and shows it to her kids :)

sometimes we watch the movies and shows every day, sometimes we skip a few months and just watch the disney channel.

You never know what will make an impact with them. I have all the discs from all 9 waves of the Disney Treasures collection, and over the years I have played them for my kids and grandkids now.

Last week, my 7 year old granddaughter (who we are raising) asked to watch the 'show with the skulls'. It took a minute to figure out she meant the collection of the old 'Hardy Boy' TV shows on the collection, which she saw perhaps when she was 5 or so.

So today it is back on, show 1 episode 1, after school and before halloween tonight.

I love the old Disney TV shows and hope they put out more in the future.

Our DGD is just 14 months old, but we'll def. be watching Disney movies by this time next year. Very much looking forward to it. I watched the Hardy Boys set over the summer, my favorite part is the theme song "Gold Dubloons and Pieces of Eight". :earsboy:

I watch the Sorcerrors Apprentice (the live movie) the most next up is the Curse of the Black Pearl. As for animated Alice in Wonderland and the Lion King.

Yes, it's a very catchy theme song which gave us the chance to educate her about gold dubloons and pieces-of-eight

Our VHS player broke so we are trying to build our Disney classics collection again on DVD/Blu Ray for our 2 year old DD. But we watch at least 3 or 4 Disney movies a week. She would much rather watch a Disney movie than TV, which is totally fine with me!

I watch mine often, but I have a BUNCH of Disney VHS tapes, even ones from when I was a kid.

Daily. I am always going to sleep watching one of my Disney DVDs or Blu Rays. Occasionally there will be another movie, such as the Universal version of Peter Pan, but I honestly don't own many movies that AREN'T Disney.

For example, now I am watching Disney's Peter Pan, which was re-released today. :) Last night I watched African Cats. The night before that The Lion King. It varies.

Well JGH you're getting your money's worth out of your video purchases!
It still find there are little things that I've never noticed or have forgotten about every time I watch these movies.

Just picked up the Treasure Planet blu-ray and the video/audio is spectacular.:earsboy:

I'm watching Peter Pan this evening as I got it yesterday on blu ray! :) I had forgotten how much I loved this movie.

Whenever I get off from school and work I try to watch them all the time. I am watching Peter Pan as soon as I get it in the mail!

I have a pretty extensive collection that I continue to update, but unfortunately I do not have the time to watch them very often. I make time for the new releases, but my favorite classics wait for me....

I have an entite dvd folder filled with Disney! I usually throw one on in the background while working on the computer, so I'm usually watching upwards of 3 a week! Lol, although sometimes thats the same one all week haah

Obsessed with disney blu ray! Watch about 2 a week. The difference is amazing. Beauty and the beast made my jaw drop with how beautiful it was on blu ray... Point being, 90% of our blu rays are disney because we can really tell the difference in quality. Watched Monsters Inc and Snow White this week (and hotel translyvania)
