It was suggested on the budget board that you all might have some ideas: We’re taking a trip to WDW in January with my parents and our three children. This is a bonus trip, not originally in our plan so the budget is tight! We’re taking our RV and staying at Fort Wilderness. My folks have their own spot and RV. But I’ll be making dinners, breakfast and some lunches every day for the group. I decided to spend about $50-$100 of my budget to help make the stay and dining in the RV feel special and I thought I would share some ideas and see what you do to Disney-ize your RV.
My purchases so far include a paper punch, some mickey cookie cutters, mickey sprinkles, some fabric, and some mickey party items, and I’m using other items (stamps, stickers, paper, toothpicks. skewers etc.) I already had.

Here’s what I ‘ve made/am making
Tablecloth for the picnic bench – white with stamped mickey heads.
Pluto pillow for couch paired with the regular red fleece blanket (no sew made from fleece from family fun pattern)
Mickey plastic party cup I’m using for a pencil, crayon etc. holder.
Dish towels- like table cloth
Filled treat buckets for kids – personalized the buckets , inside various Disney theme treats including goodie bags made with what will soon to be leftover Halloween candy , personalized water bottles and purse style water bottle holders for the two big girls.
Mickey napkin rings (made from sculptey , Mickey made with candy mold)
Mickey Food picks (paper punch outlines glue one on both sides of toothpicks)
Mickey Skewers for fruit
Donald duck feet trivet
Hidden Mickeys I’ll be hiding all over the RV for them to find.
Mickey shaped soap in the bathroom
I’ll be collecting their old WDW stuffed animals, blankets etc. and making their beds with the Cinderella’s castle blankets we got on the last trip.
I have cutters to make Mickey shaped sandwiches, and various homemade Mickey treats including chocolate covered pretzels with Mickey sprinkles. Of course we’ll have Mickey pancakes!
Sounds like a lot right now, but from the living/dining/kitchen room of the RV you’ll only see the black and white dishtowels, pluto pillow and blanket, and the cup with crayons on the table so it should be pretty subtle except at dinner :) Any other ideas ? What do you do to disneyfy on the cheap?

Consider going to Home Depot....they have Disney paint, so the paint sample color cards are mickey heads.....in every color., and best of all...FREE! I always use them to make luggage tags (I laminate them). You could also use them as hidden mickeys. They have disboards lime green too! You can cut them out and use them for anything! We are going after Thanksgiving this year and I plan to decorate my indoor and outdoor trees with them....I'll just get tons of red and green ones, cut them out, use a hole punch and hang them with ornament hooks. Have fun!

Love those lights! May have to figure out a way to sneak those into the budget. And my kids LOVE those mickey ear paint samples! I'm sure we have a few lying around here already. May have to work with them too! Thanks!
I'm also making coasters from WDW maps, turning out very cute!

Coasters.....with matching placemats! My brain is reeling. Ill see what else i can come up with ...cheap or feee.

Since you are going in January, after Christmas you can probably pick up some window clings, etc. with a Disney winter theme.

get a mickey head ice cube tray and that can disneyfi all your drinks. We also have a mickey casserole dish that we cook in.

If you have a Walgreens be sure to watch for after Christmas sales on cute Mickey items that can be used year round especially at the Fort!

You can go to Disney Junior website and print off coloring pages to color during your down time at the camper.

Also if you have anyone who can sew in the family you can buy some Disney character material and make pillow cases or little Disney purses for cheap.

Lovin this thread! Keep the ideas coming!

If you have a Dollar Tree Store in your area, they carry a lot of Disney items - toys, coloring books, puzzles. I bought a Mickey night light there for our camper. Also found some children's plastic Mickey plates, bowls and cups there one time. They also had the plates, etc. with the Princesses on them. They don't have the same items all the time, but always able to pick up something Disney there. Also, found Disney themed stickers, pencils, etc. there before.

We Disney-fied our camper for about $50 total and had fun doing it :)

Sheets from walmart used for bed toppers and valances, Iron on Mickey heads from ebay on valances, towels, pillowcases, and sheets. Bunk end Mickey organizers from ebay, carpet runner from ebay. Valances attached to existing curtains with peg clothespins painted black. Shower valance made from a pillowcase (ebay) and dinette covers made from a pic I photoshopped then ironed on.

I hope you have a great trip and lots of fun decoratign your camper!

Home Depot has discontinued the MM head paint samples - think there were probably too many people picking them up free - but not for the intended purpose! :)

One thing I would recommend, that I haven't seen mentioned, is taking Disney jammies and slippers. My DW and I take ours and they always seem to help set the mood for the Disney experience. In January, with the cooler temps, they might help keep you and the little ones just a little more comfortable overnight.

The next time we go, I am thinking about taking our Disney Scene It game to play when we are winding down from our fun filled day in the parks.

Just a couple of ideas to add to the ambviance. Hope this helps.

Right after Christmas: Walmart, JCP, Lowes, Home Depot are great places to get Disney products marked down. I've picked up many items over the years.

The $1 is a GREAT place for items. Check Disney store online for markdowns and free shipping. I've scored a few times stalking their website (they took our brick and mortar stores away).

Ideas: over the years: Disney products found...
*floor mat outside the RV
*Mickey head lights for awning
*soap pump-bathroom
*shower curtain/tablecloth
*bath towels, sheets, dishes

Have fun decorating and creating.

I hit up the party supply aisle at walmart for some Mickey mouse paper plates. Just using a few for serving or for the kids to eat off of adds some magic.
And PixieCamper: your pop up design with Mickey and Minnie is AWESOME! Are you willing to share it?
