Wait a minute, I'm 40, when did this happen? Nicki & Todd LIVE reviews! Completed!

First...HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY...got it in before midnight!! :thumbsup2

Second...your pre-Disney meal looks wonderful...carnivore's heaven!

Third...your pix from Boma make me so happy that I have a ressie there in a few weeks!! I LOVE blueberry pancakes and the ham looks amaze!! Everything looks so great! Hoping to see some snacks soon...Todd better not disappoint! LOL

Is there actually a dish on the Citricos menu called "Side Dish"? I'd order it anyway, but still. :rotfl:

I hope tomorrow' plans work out, and hopefully there will be several more standout dishes to come (like the short ribs)! :thumbsup2

You are GORGEOUS on your 40th birthday!!! Love the purple hair and the cut-:thumbsup2 Thanks so much for posting that tapas menu from the bar- I didn't know they did that- it's making my wheels turn....really would like to check that out, I think that bar is fabulous to begin with, but add in some tapas? Super fab!

Wow! You are a knockout! :) Todd looks like Bobby Flay. o_O :P

Citrico's looked uh-may-zing!! I want to eat there some day. That shrimp dish sounded so delicious. :( Bummer that it was a miss.

Have lots of fun! Remember you're vacationing for like 50 people here. ;)

I love smooth creamy soups (but I don't like chowder) so that soup looks delicious to me! Sorry the shrimp disappointed though!

HAPPY DAY AFTER YOUR BIRTHDAY, NICKI! Geez you and Todd are such a photogenic couple, you look like a Sandals ad! If we run into you at POFQ and snap a pic together only DH and I will look like folks who would be writing Disney dining reviews online! :lmao:

party::bday::cake::rockband:party::bday: Happy Birthday Nicki

Wisihing you a wonderful day

I am enjoying reading your reviews.

Loved our Citricos review. I like the soup and the shrimp. Our server told us to dip the olive bread into the shrimp broth which we tried. It was good.

Cant wait to read your daily dining adventures!:)

Enjoy every minute of your trip!

Thank you! Its been a great birthday trip so far! DH dipped liked the shrimp sauce and he was having a good time dipping the bread in there. Cannot wait to see what we do today

You look gorgeous Nicki!!!!!!!! Happy still your birthdayy!!!

Drooool!! Love boma breakfast!!!!!! I die for the goat cheese and chive scrambled eggs. FINALLY NEW MERCHANDISE!!! Right?!?!! Ahh i love that shrimp at citricos. I sorry it was underwhelming. Mike had to practically rip the bowl out of my hands because i was trying to drink the sauce! I was dairy free last time we ate there and the chef made it for me with olive oil and it wasn't even close. I'm going back in feb and asking for extra butter hahahahahaa!!! Ok, idk if you've tried the sugar dusted mickey cake pops from goofy's, but if you like cake pops OMGGGG TO DIEEE FOR!!! They have chocolate, vanilla and red velvet. DIEEE!!!

Thank you! I told Todd that is trip is heavy on the pictures..so far he is cool with it, lets see what happens towards the end of the trip :lmao: The cake pops looked very good but I have my heart set on some cupcakes...flavored ones that is :thumbsup2

Thank you! I love meat, Texas de Brazil totally does it right! DH loved the blueberry pancakes, he said they were fluffy and loaded with blueberries. The ham was outstanding, we had alot of that...hope its the same at Tusker House next week.

I know right, I never saw that on the menu before...just wished it was the escarole because that was fantastic. So far I moved our Kona back an hour because the King is still asleep. How can one sleep in WDW?

Aw shucks, you are making me blush! LOL about Todd and Flay...wish he could cook like Bobby but he cannot even heat up leftovers ;) I think the shrimp would have been alot better if it wasnt so overcooked.

I'm with you, I love creamy soups and my favorite is butternut squash...hope I can find it somewhere up here. Thank you for the kind words...its not every picture that we both look great in it so I am grateful for the one :rotfl:

Citrico's looks so amazing. I really want to try that place sometime. The shrimp looked really good. To bad they looked better than they tasted.

When last I left you I still had no clue what was in store for me today..except breakfast at Kona. Up nice and early and started right in on him

Me: Where are we going

Todd: Breakfast, did you forget?

Me: I know that, where are we going after that?

Todd: I will tell you after breakfast

Yes he is sooooo frustrating!

Weather was absolutely gorgeous, no humidity and pure sunshine in the sky. The Poly parking lot was not busy at all but the resort itself was a mad house. We checked in 30 minutes early for breakfast but luckily we were seated right away. Our table was in the darkest part of the restaurant so I had to use the flash or the pictures turned out too dark

Oct20day002.jpg

DH had OJ and we shared our first of two pressed pots of Kona coffee. I love this stuff, it is the best coffee ever.

Oct20day006.jpg

Shocker of all shockers but there was NO pumpkin pancakes...I was so bummed out about this and I had no clue what I wanted to get.

Me: (huge pout) They dont have those wonderful pumpkin pancakes they had last year

Todd: So, get the pineapple ones

Me: Not the same

Todd: Pancakes are pancakes

Obviously he doesnt taste his food as he inhales it

Me: Well I have no clue what I want now

Todd: Its breakfast, not picking a new car

Me: Just because you know you are getting tonga toast.....

Todd: Stop reading my mind!

Butter, ketchup, maple syrup and strawberry compote for the Sugar Bomb - er Tonga Toast

Oct20day007.jpg

Of course he boy had to get the Tonga Toast. It is the only thing he ever gets here and he just loves it. I dont really care for it, way too sweet for me. He liked it but could not finish it all. The bacon was honest to goodness real thick tasty not limp bacon. HUGE improvement over the past years.

Oct20day008.jpg

Here is where I blew his mind. I ordered the Big Kahuna, hold the french toast, potatoes and pancakes, add an extra egg and sliced tomatoes. The waitress had to do a double take, my husband had to do a double take

Todd: Whats up with that

Me: I dont know, sounds good

Todd: Sounds boring

Well he was wrong, it was great. I had 3 soft scrambled eggs that were super creamy, real bacon that he tried to snag from me but I wasnt letting it go, great sausage and a piece of ham that was very tender. The tomatoes that were pale looking actually had alot of flavor

Oct20day009.jpg

I had no trouble eating it all and it kept me going all day long. Todd on the other hand, well that Tonga Toast made him crash and burn not too long after he ate it!

As we were sitting there waiting for the check I nagged him again, reminding him that breakfast was over and he had to tell me where we were going

Todd: Isnt it obvious?

Me: Duh, no, why else would I ask you?

Todd: Well MK is just right over there

Me: You knew we were going there all along right?

Todd: Yup, just wanted to make you nuts...Payback and all...

And here I am thinking he didnt have it all figured out....

Thank you for your reviews and a very Happy Birthday!
Forgot how much we loved Boma so I am adding that to the lineup this trip and it looks so yummy last time we were there it was very blah.

Now Kona is a first for us this trip and I have no clue what to order everything looks so yummy! The only thing I'm sure about is the coffee.

MK was gorgeous today, perfect weather, not too busy. The new Fantasyland wasnt open but they were doing a special screening for CM's

The new Big Top area is nice, love the dueling Dumbo rides. The smell of sweet treats coming from the Big Top was too much to resist so we went in for a treat. All these candy shops have the exact same stuff, you seen one place you seen them all.

Oct20day019.jpg

Needing a taste of something we opted for the chocolate covered fruit kabob. This was not good...I think its partly because it was served room temp and we were expecting it to be cold. The reason is the cheap, waxy, yucky tasting chocolate. We wound up taking the chocolate off the pineapple, banana and strawberry and finishing the fruit. They do sell the fruit kabob without the chocolate, might get that again

Oct20day014.jpg

Covered alot of ground in MK and it was getting warmer and more crowded so we decided to go back to the resort for pool time. Neither of us were hungry but there is alot of things we want to eat at MK and are planning on going back this week. As we are heading around Adventureland and dodging strollers and lots of large groups I became lost. Well not so much lost as separated from my hubby. Normally I would call his cell and find him but seeing that I was close to Pirates I kinda knew where he was. What is next to Pirates? Jungle Cruise. What is next to Jungle Cruise? EGG ROLL STAND!

And there he is, front of the line, money in hand...glazed look on his face and huge smile on his mouth

Me: Uh, Hello, did you forget something?

Todd: No I got two egg rolls...oh wait, yea I forgot, a bottle of water too please

Me: You lost me!

Todd: Didnt you smell the egg rolls in the air? You knew where I was. This stand never opened last Oct, I couldnt chance not getting one, or two, or ten

And here he is, in all his pork and shrimp egg roll glory

Oct20day015.jpg

Oct20day016.jpg

He loves these suckers...not me, I cant stand egg rolls. He did offer me a bite as he always does but I dont think it counts when the last of the egg roll is being shoved in his mouth do you?

I just LOVE reading your reviews! I think a Boma breakfast is in our future!:thumbsup2 Can't wait for more!:)

We rode an empty bus back to POFQ, jumped in our suits and hung by the pool for a bit, the weather is just gorgeous!

I started to get a bit hungry so we went inside to grab some lunch. The place was basically empty but the service was terrible. Took forever to get those "kids" attention because they are all young and too busy joking around with each other than wait on customers.

Todd had the buffalo chicken sandwich with pasta salad and a ton of pickles...hey you knew this was coming! He really liked the pasta salad and said the chicken sandwich was excellent. Very moist and tender with lots of flavor.

Oct20day027.jpg

Oct20day026.jpg

He had this new honey green tea and said it was ok. I stuck to SmartWater...I think I had a dozen of these today

Oct20day025.jpg

My choice was the create your own salad. You can have romaine or mixed baby greens or both, chicken or shrimp or nothing, soybeans, bacon, kalamata olives, croutons, Chinese noodles, dried cranberries, cucumbers, corn, parm cheese, carrots, tomatoes and broccoli. To have them mix dressing your choices are chipolte ranch, caesar and I forget the other two. I wanted regular ranch and they give you packets, you have to toss the salad yourself. I didnt like this because the salad was packed in the bowl and hard to mix so I dumped it on a plate but still managed to make a mess.

Oct20day021.jpg

Oct20day023.jpg

Oct20day024.jpg

I didnt like this at all. The chicken was ice cold but very tender and flavorful. The lettuce was not that fresh, the bacon was like eating gravel. The broccoli was so gross. Basically I ate the chicken once it warmed up a bit, cukes and olives and threw out the rest. Todd called it best when he said it tasted like garbage.

After some fun in the sun we went back to our room to chill out and shower for dinner...coming up, a new place for us to try
