MVMCP - Seven Dwarfs and Waiting In Line

I know that the 7 Dwarfs appear together at MVMCP, but where exactly are they (Splash Mountain exit?) and where does the line start to form? Will there be ropes there or a CM to guide where you need to wait?

My plan was to have my wife wait in line (her choice BTW!), then I would take our daughter around to see other things until a few minutes before the party starts at 7pm. Then I would return and meet my wife back in the line. As long as one person from our party stays in line and holds our spot, is that considered proper etiquette? I don't wanna be a dreaded "line cutter".

I can't answer to the location, and until the first party, we are all just guessing as to where they will be anyway. What I can say is that my friend and I got in line around 5:45PM, stuck around long enough that the people right around us had seen BOTH of us there, and then we took turns going to get something to eat/restroom break. As long as your whole party starts out there (easier to know where to return to as well) and everyone is there at least 15 minutes before "showtime", you should be safe from too much "cutter commentary".

They will be located at the exit to Splash. To get there, go under the train station on the right side. When you emerge out the other side, they will be on your right. You can think of it as a guess if you like, but I'm confident that's where they'll be.

Line etiquette is fairly relaxed for this M&G. Most others near you will be wanting to do similar things, and are very likely to understand. I would recommend that all of you show up together to stake a spot in line, maybe talk up those around you for a few minutes, and then gauge if two of your party leaving for a time is the "right" thing to do.

I agree with this. It was very relaxed the night I was there. It wasn't a problem for members of my party to leave at various times and use a bathroom or get water (it was HOT and HUMID!). It's different than an attraction where each person takes up a place in line and some people get annoyed when you step over them/past them to find your family. In this M & G, there is plenty of room for everyone to walk around and re-join their party, AND more importantly, whether you have 1 person or 6 people in a party or in line, it will take the same amount of time to get the photo taken, so I wouldn't be offended if the party of 1 in front of me suddenly became a party of 4. No big deal.

Sounds like camping out for concert tickets...

I'd be sure and have your daughter back there by about 20 minutes before 7. Occasionally the characters show up about 10 minutes before 7.

Good advice. Thanks!

Do you think the parties earlier in the season will have less of a line compared to the lines closer to Christmas when the parties sell out?

And I am assuming that 530 is about the right time to get there so we don't spend an hour of party time waiting for one character meet and greet?

We lined up right by the bathrooms open area. They will stage it with trees and decor before they bring out the dwarfs. The line was there where Woody and Jessie meet and greet. We met them, and then they were taken away and we were told the new line would be for the dwarfs. I stayed in line while DH took the kids over to Tomorrowland to ride the rides since only people with the wristband could get on. Once he finished that he headed back to me, and by this time it got freezing cold, with blowing wind. We were not prepared. Make sure you have something to stay warm and dry in line. The line wrapped around down under the railroad by the Pooh bear play area. At 6:50 we started taking pictures.

About what time did you get there?

Do the Dwarves have another location if it is raining during the party, or do they just not come out?

At the rainy MNSSHP I attended in September, they moved about 30 feet to the left under shelter.

Last year, I lined up for the Dwarfs at 5:30pm and was 4th in line. Nobody had any problem with my family joining me for a pic.

We attended a Star Wars weekend where you would get in line for Jedi mickey and by the time you got there Princess Leia Minnie was there and Jedi Mickey was gone. How do they handle that with the dwarfs? Do they Hi Ho it out of there and then come back after a break?
