NICKI!!!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL!!!!! We are exactly ten years apart, I just turned the big 3-0. I hope you have a marvelous magical trip!!!! We did 10 nights 9/27-10/7 for the ToT ten miler and it was just glorious to be there for that long.

Lots of love mama!!!!!!

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!!

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

I hope your day was filled with laughs:lmao:, yummy eats:goodvibes, fun:banana: and a lot of LOVE:love: from your husband!

We have a place very similar here -- Fogo de Chao. Andy took us two years ago for our anniversary. Oh my...I swore I would not eat for a week after that. Everything was so super yummy. Your meats look really good as do those potatos.

What is with Todd and olives and pickles?

Get some rest; can't wait to hear all about tomorrow.

Its soooo good, I love all that meat! I think my husband has a very sour puss and that is why he loves those vinegar-y things

sounds like a great start. The food look good. Have fun at boma

Boma was amazing, pictures coming up soon!

I am late to the party! Great start. Makes me wish that we had a car so we could try out that place! Wow, it looked fantastic!

Can't wait to see your "different" purple hair. Loved the previous picture! :thumbsup2

You made it just in time! There are so many incredible places to eat up there, both onsite and off...wish I had more time! The purple hair is my thing now..so bummed it isnt as bold this time but my uncle promised he will change it when I come home.

:bday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NICKI!!! party:

Thank you hon!

Happy Birthday, sis. Love you, and will call you later.

48 days until we are together and I can give you birthday kiss.

Thank you and love you too!

Meat! We have a lot of rodizio restaurants around here in NJ, they are so much fun, and the men in our party always do some serious damage. Not that the women are slouches, either....
Happy Birthday, Nicki!!!

I think I ate more than my man

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICKI!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :jumping1:

I hope it's a wonderful day! I'm sure it will be, since you're in WDW! And Todd will do his best to treat you like a queen today, I'm SURE! :lmao:

Also, I'm so glad you loved your meal at Texas de Brazil! I went there on my birthday a few years ago and wasn't a fan, but my coworkers had talked it up SO MUCH I think that kind of ruined it for me. I expected the meat to sing and dance in my mouth. Your pics looks DELICIOUS though!

It has been an amazing birthday so far and Todd promises we will celebrate the entire time! I am madly in love with Texas de Brazil, wish we had one in Naples

Happy birthday, Nicki! party:

Texas de Brazil looks like so much fun. They are opening one in my hometown in November. I can't wait to try it!

I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Hi Nicki
Great review!! Can't wait for more!!! Love your purple hair. It looks great on you!! I'm 62, (soon to be 63) and would love to try it, but at my age, people would think I'm just an old lady with purple hair and probaby wouldn't think it was cute!!

You should go for it, you would look HOT!

Disnut, you should go for it! you could start a new trend for us ladies over 50!

Agreed! :thumbsup2

Have the most amazing Disney birthday ever and welcome to 40!! Great first review and great purple hair. Unfortunately our dress code at work states that hair must be of a natural color...and I'm HR so I can't go against that! :lmao: but I'd give it a shot if I could get away with it.

We have fogo de chao in Minneapolis too but I've never been there. I'm trying to talk my sister into going there with me. Mmmm...neverending meat on skewers is a dream of mine. ;)

Thank you! I understand about work, some places you cannot have tattoos or even acrylic nails! You should def have never ending meat, its the best!

Yum..that food looks amazing! I've heard of that place many times but never knew what it was. Enjoy your day today...its raining and gloomy here...wish I was in Disney!
Happy Birthday!

Hope your rain goes away soon, its gorgeous here...cold front moving in tonight, high tomorrow of just 84 :scared1:

A very happy birthday Nicki!pixiedust:

Thank you!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICKI!!!!! :bday: party:

I hope you have a fantastic day and since you are in Disney I don't know how you can't have a fantastic day! :)

It was a fantastic day for sure!

Happy Birthday! I loved your dining reports last year. You guys are so FUNNY! Can't wait to read them. party::bday:

Thanks and so happy you are here!

Happy 40th Birthday! party: Yay! Another Nicki live review! Love Love Love it! I'm jealous, this is my favorite time of year to go. We were in your neighborhood on Monday (if only for 3 hours) had a stop over in Ft. Myers airport from Key West on our way back to Newark.

Have a great trip and enjoy and looking forward to more reviews!

Thank you! Reviews coming right up!

Thank you!! Scarlet must look gorgeous, my uncle wants to do red next...well black and red. When my purple starts to fade, and it does quickly, it turns violet...nice but too light for me. We saw a woman with bright blue hair at Boma this morning. The cost of the drinks could triple your bill, stick to water lol! More reviews coming up!

Hi Heidi! So glad you are here!

:banana::banana::banana:Yay a MickeyNicki report:banana::banana::banana:

Welcome aboard my crazy train!

Finally, all pictures are uploaded, lets get this show on the road! What a fantastic birthday this has been! Gorgeous weather, adoring husband, we are in WDW and on the way to breakfast, lots of B-Day wishes from family and friends,....can life get any better?

We drove over to Boma and the resort was very busy, most people were checking out. Pretty long line at Boma but the restaurant itself didnt seem busy at all.

He had a glass of OJ, he doesnt like Frunch...too sweet for him. We both had regular coffee and it was very good, very nutty and tasty.

My first plate has carved ham (wonderful), carved turkey (super moist and tender), scrambled eggs and scrambled eggs with ham and cheese (both were outstanding), sausage (well cooked and delish!) asparagus (tender yet crisp) and stewed tomatoes with onions (this was out of this world, sweet and spicy and excellent went mixed with the eggs)

Oct19002.jpg

Todd had bacon, eggs, blueberry pancakes, some potatoes and the ham and turkey. He cleaned his plate and got another one! Said everything was excellent.

Oct19001.jpg

Had to get his favorite banana bread and I tried one nibble of the pumpkin scone but it was terrible, hard and not much flavor

Oct19003.jpg

He also had yogurt but I didnt take a picture of that. We shared a huge bowl of strawberries..they were great once I put some Splenda on them.

Oct19025.jpg

Todd had to try the french toast bread pudding. He said it was very rich and creamy, very filling and the best part is the pecan/caramel topping you put on it. I didnt try it but it looked very good

Oct19024.jpg

At the end of our meal I was presented with a treat for my birthday. The top left is a raspberry macaroon (Todd said it didnt have any flavor) top right is a spice cake (very dense and not much flavor), bottom right a passion fruit jelly (Todd said it tastes like a fruity gummy bear) and the bottom left is a coconut wafer cookie with chocolate ganache (He liked this the best). I really didnt want anything sweet so I just took a bite of the spice cake.

Oct19026.jpg

We sat and enjoyed the rest of our coffee and the sun coming through the windows when I hear this:

Todd: So its your day and I guess I have to do what you say right?

Me: You know it!

Todd: So are you going to run me to death or are we going to chillax? (Chill - Relax, its a word we use alot!)

Me: (Cue huge yawn) Well I am feeling nice, you pick

Todd: Lets go back to the room for a nap! (Mind you we have been up for all of 2 hours?)

Me: If we go to DTD you can nap in the movies and have popcorn

Todd: Well what are you waiting for!

We left AK as we found it, totally slammed with people! Hopped in the car and drove over to DTD. Had to get gas at the Hess Station though, 3.79 a gallon is so much better than our 4.11 at home

I think we go there around 10:30 and the parking lot was pretty empty. Clear skies but it was getting warm. We shopped and bought some cute stuff for my nieces, finally new merchandise! So sick of the same stuff year after year.

By the time we walked to check out Splits (which is no where near done and they are saying it will be open next year) it was really hot. It was 12:30 and the first movie starting was Argo in the Fork and Screen theater. Neither one of us was hungry but we didnt want to wait another hour either. Normally you have to walk to the other theater but the girl was kind enough to let us cut through since the movie was starting.

First off let me say that the movie was just awesome! I was a little kid when all this was going on but our school was one that tied yellow ribbons everywhere. Ben Afleck should get an Oscar!

Todd had popcorn and I wanted the veggie tray..sorry for the bad pic but the movie had started so I didnt want to use the flash. There was hummus, ranch dressing, carrots, celery, jicama and pizzettes which was basically baked pizza dough without sauce or cheese. The portion was humongous but the hubby helped me out.

Untitled.jpg

We had a nice time....I think we might do that again later this trip

As we were leaving the Xmas place someone smelled something that led him astray...like a bloodhound he took off in search of that sweet, tantalizing aroma. Problem is he forgot to tell me where he was going! As I was walking towards the Art of Disney he veers left...and keeps going

Me: Hey! Where you going? I want to look in there

Todd: Nothing to eat in there..cant you smell it?

Me: Smell what?

Todd: SUGAR!

He loves sweets as much as he loves pickles :lmao:

While he was browsing I was taking pictures

As I am taking these photos I have a tap on my shoulder, and I hear....

Todd: What are we getting

Me: Whats with the WE? You wanted to come in here what do you want

Todd: Are you going to share it with me?

Me: Uh no, I'm still full from breakfast

Todd: Well I cant eat by myself so I will wait

Me: Since when? Who are you and what have you done with my snacker-man??

Yes, we actually walked out empty handed :rolleyes1 For now anyways.....

Happy birthday! It sounds like you've had a wonderful day overall, and I'm glad that the food at Boma was very good for the most part. Boma's currently my favorite Disney breakfast. :goodvibes

First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to YOU!!!!!!!!!!! My mouth is watering from the Boma pictures (let alone all the sweets). Definitely my favorite also and we have an adr in December too!!!!! Do they still have the omelet station? Hope so!

It's going to be a great week reading along. Your trip reports are epic!!!!! Thanks for allowing us to read along!!!!!!

Looks good! Did the eggs at Boma have chives or spinach in them? Lately I've seen reviews with spinach, but yours looked like chives.

We left DTD and went back to the resort to relax before dinner. I am not getting the best cell reception up here and my family was calling me like crazy to wish me HBD so I was on the phone for a while....consoling my poor mother because she is so depressed that she is the mother of a 40 year old! :lmao:

We drove over to Citrico's and arrived a bit early so we had a drink in the lounge. Todd had the Citromopolitan and I had and apple martini..both were fantastic!

October19Afternoon018.jpg

We have been to Citrico's many times and it is always amazing food wise and service wise. Tonight was just as wonderful!

Grain bread and kalamata olive bread with butter topped with citrus sea salt. I didnt have any but DH liked the olive bread

October19Afternoon020.jpg

We shared the caesar salad...the kitchen split is for us. Very good but a little too heavy on the lemon

October19Afternoon021.jpg

October19Afternoon022.jpg

After all these trips I finally tried the shrimp with the feta cheese and tomatoes. I dont get what the rave reviews are about...there was hardly any feta or tomatoes in this dish and the shrimp was way over cooked. Not my favorite but DH said it was ok. Honestly I prefer the Saucy Shrimp at Bone Fish Grill.

October19Afternoon023.jpg

Todd had the Corn Soup and I thought it was incredible but he said he prefers the chunky, thick, potato loaded corn chowder. Didnt stop him from finishing it all though!

October19Afternoon025.jpg

I had no clue what to order, it all sounded wonderful..

Me: So you are getting the short ribs and I ...(this is where I am interrupted)

Todd: Whaddaya mean I am getting the short ribs?

Me: You have been here 4 times before and have always ordered them, you mentioned you wanted Citricos for the short ribs, you told me earlier that you were getting them soooo....bingo, you are getting short ribs

Todd: What if I want chicken?

Me: Do you want chicken?

Todd: No, I want short ribs...I just want to keep you on your toes in your old age

Yeah, as if I need any more help from him ;) This is the same man that woke me up with a good morning grandma and is taking great pleasure in reminding everyone that he is still in his 30's!

So he ordered the short ribs with mushrooms and pasta and he cleaned the plate. The meat was amazingly tender and so flavorful...yup he gave me a bite or two, thats love for ya!

October19Afternoon026.jpg

I opted for the pork tenderloin with pork belly and subbed out the polenta for veggies. The tenderloin was very tender but I didnt like the seasonings on it so I put some of Todd's sauce on it...much better. The pork belly was phenomenal! The brussel sprouts were nasty...too much smoked flavoring. I was in love with the escarole and zucchini but not a fan of the peppers or turnips. Wish I asked for double escarole and no sprouts...ah next time I will know better

October19Afternoon027.jpg

We were both too full for dessert so we shared a pot of coffee and our server brought out a treat for us to share...I didnt want it so Todd ate it and said it was cute but not tasty. Coffee on the other hand was wonderful!

As we were sitting there sipping our coffee we had a "what are we doing" conversation...went a little like this

Me: So we are eating at Kona tomorrow morning

Todd: Oh good, I love that place

Me: Yeah, um, what are we doing after?

Todd: I dont know yet

Me: Well do you want to go to the pool, a movie, a park?

Todd: I will let you know

Me: When, tonight?

Todd: Now where is the fun in that?

Me: Aw come on...you going to spring this on me tomorrow at breakfast?

Todd: Maybe, jeez you are getting very impatient in your old age

Me: Living with you will do that to a girl

Todd: Ok, fine, I will tell you at breakfast

Me: Ok, fine.....are we driving to Kona or taking a cab

Todd: Dont know yet

Me: GRRRRRRRR

Todd: Whats the weather like tomorrow

Me: Do I look like Al Roker to you?

Todd: No, you have purple hair silly

Me: Whats the weather have to do with what we do tomorrow?

Todd: Well a cold front is coming through

Me: 84 is a cold front?

Todd: It might be a nice day for AK, since thats a hot park

Me: So we are going to AK

Todd: Dont know yet

This is where I said "CHECK PLEASE!"

As we were leaving the GF the traffic was so backed up within the resort and there were police lights everywhere. Sat in a line of cars and buses for 30 minutes. We see helicopters, cops on motorcycles, state troopers, fire trucks, security everywhere. And still we sit. Turns out it was just Joe Biden driving through. It was fun just sitting there talking to the people waiting to move though, helped move the time along.

So here I am, in my room, updating you all and my hubby is snoring his brains out....and I still have no idea what we are doing tomorrow! Your guess is as good as mine! Until then, goodnight all!

Happy birthday! It sounds like you've had a wonderful day overall, and I'm glad that the food at Boma was very good for the most part. Boma's currently my favorite Disney breakfast. :goodvibes

Was a great day and the food at Boma was amazing, looking for space in our schedule to go back again this week

Thank you! Boma is the best, everything was delicious Yes they do have the omelet station. So happy you are enjoying the reviews

Looks good! Did the eggs at Boma have chives or spinach in them? Lately I've seen reviews with spinach, but yours looked like chives.

Sadly no more chive and goat cheese eggs...didnt see any spinach either but the ham and cheese eggs were great!

party::bday::cake::rockband:party::bday: Happy Birthday Nicki

Wisihing you a wonderful day

I am enjoying reading your reviews.

Loved our Citricos review. I like the soup and the shrimp. Our server told us to dip the olive bread into the shrimp broth which we tried. It was good.

Cant wait to read your daily dining adventures!:)

Enjoy every minute of your trip!

You look gorgeous Nicki!!!!!!!! Happy still your birthdayy!!!

Drooool!! Love boma breakfast!!!!!! I die for the goat cheese and chive scrambled eggs. FINALLY NEW MERCHANDISE!!! Right?!?!! Ahh i love that shrimp at citricos. I sorry it was underwhelming. Mike had to practically rip the bowl out of my hands because i was trying to drink the sauce! I was dairy free last time we ate there and the chef made it for me with olive oil and it wasn't even close. I'm going back in feb and asking for extra butter hahahahahaa!!! Ok, idk if you've tried the sugar dusted mickey cake pops from goofy's, but if you like cake pops OMGGGG TO DIEEE FOR!!! They have chocolate, vanilla and red velvet. DIEEE!!!
