Premium Annual Passes for DVC Members for $399!

Hi all,

Just to be sure I understand....we'll be there in a month and I want to purchase the discounted Premium AP as I am going again in Feb. From what I read there is no reason to order the voucher in advance from MS as they are not going to mail the voucher out to me, correct? So should I just buy when we arrive? ( Am BWV owner so assume I can buy at back gate of Epcot?) Also, I want to purchase TiW...does that need to be done in advance or also best at gate?

Thanks!

oh ... Sorry
So you can only upgrade vouchers not passes ???

What Disney says is that they won't upgrade anything costing over the $399. So the regular pass costs more, hence them saying they won't upgrade. I actually had them call me and tell me after escalating my complaint.

Now some reported being able to do it. Cheshire Figment said he got a memo saying they aren't allowed to do it. So you might get lucky... Worst they can do is say no... But I wouldn't be surprised if you aren't allowed. Obviously the later on in the promotion you buy, the better the possibility as they process complaints.

I believe yu can get TiW at certain guest services... There is info online about it, a quick google should find it. It's in your Interest to buy TiW after the annual pass since it is cheaper as an AP holder than the DVC rate.

So we asked about the dvc pap at MK today when we were redeeming our vouchers thst cost more than $399. The CM actually suggested that we upgrade and they will give us the difference on a GC so we did. I know it was probably pixie dust but just wanted to share my experience.

Oh goodness hoping the same works for us...heck I don't even care about the price difference!!!

We were able to do the same last week at Epcot. Hope others have the same luck!

We were at WDW a few days before it went in affect the CM just said to come back and they would upgrade us to PAP in November and give us the difference on GC.

Just walking away from Guest Relations at Epcot International gate. Asked if I could upgrade. She said yes, gave me new PAP and a gift card for $27.

If I get the PAP this year when I go on Nov 1, at the DVC special rate, when it is time for renewal next year in 2013 am I locked into getting the PAP again or can I renew for a just regular annual pass at the DVC rate whatever it may be in 2013? I would like to get the cost benefit of the PAP this year but don't anticipate that next year when it is time for renewal I will want to stay with the PAP. :confused3

So, you were able to to upgrade an activated AP?

Yep!

Able to upgrade an activated "new" AP. Not a renewal so my original AP cost more then the magic $399.

I thought I might be doomed when the CM tried to call someone but they didn't pick up she said "can I just give you the refund in a gift card?" Of course I agreed! (I would have been fine without a refund!)

Now I have to plan a late Spring trip to go to the water parks! :cool1:

We are going down in 3 weeks, is there any reason I should buy this now or just wait until we get there?

Sorry if this has been asked, I don't have time to go through the entire thread!

If the ones you are buying in 3 weeks are the ones you are going to use for that trip. Then I see no reason to do it in advance. The price is not going to change.

We will also be down there in 3 weeks, have fun..

If you're going to be using the AP as soon as you buy it, there's no need to purchase in advance. Just make sure you have your DVC ID card with you if you plan on taking advantage of the DVC Premium Passport offer.

I plan to buy the PAP when I arrive at WDW on Dec. 1, 2012. I would also like to buy a PAP voucher to use the following year but won't be able to activate it in person in Dec. 2013. Can I activate it in Nov. 2013, 30 days in advance?

You can activate it (in person) any day in 2013. The clock will start ticking on the pass the day you activate it.

The voucher must be purchased (in person or over the phone) before the end of 2012.

If you already know that you're going again at the end of next year and the following year I would say purchase the and lock and lock in the 3 the 399 price which will be cheaper in the long run even if you renew a regular annual pass plus getting all the benefits of the premere

Not sure you understood correctly. drcoulsey wants to buy a live AP on-site in December 2012 AND purchase a voucher to be redeemed in 2013. The question is how close does he have to be to the December 2013 expiration date of the FIRST pass before he can use the voucher and renew for another 365 days?
