Chapter 4. Wrong way dummy
we had landed and stopped for a rest room break so me and noelle conversed. while candi changed parker into some shorts for the reminder of the day.
Shortly after we found our way to an empty "fake" monorail to the adults, but still an "awesome" monorail for the kids ride to the main buidling.
parker was jumping with joy at the monorail ride we were about to take.
so being the clever dad I am we went to the very front so the kids would have a good view of what was in front of them.
you would think this was my first time in disney, and i would not make this mistake again...the guy in the red is even a little foreshadowing of where we SHOULD be going.
but nope i said this way family the right is where we need to be. so down the elevator we go.
i get out and see car rental as far as i can see.
back up the elevator, and to the left side we go...but it gave us the opportunity to stop in front of the mickey store sign.
word of advice, go past security and hang a LEFT at the mickey store, this will take you ME and mickey.
a quick trip down the elevators on that side, and we are starting to see mickey heads...so naturally i tell parker, hey buddy those mickey heads on the floor will take us to the mickey bus.
Parker "i know dad"
i love how four year olds already know it all
there were zero people in any of the lines so after the nice CM scanned our tags and told us to have a great trip, we entered line 6 and were on our way to the front of the line.
but did this mean we would have the empty bus in front of us waiting, or a full bus that people already have filled up and emptied our line.
we were lead outside to a bank of busses waiting, not a regular resort, bus but still a cruise line bus...and thankgoodness it wasnt a yellow mears bus.
we entered the bus and it was completely empty, yeah baby front row...parker was pumped, so we claimed our seats in front and began the wait to fill the bus up, maybe 10 minutes we waited till we off.
since we have been married this was the longest we have taken between trips 2 years and a few months, it seemed like forever and we were glad to be just a short bus ride away from our favorite vacation spot.
noelle spent the time waiting to take off, by going through her purse and getting her lotion on and prepping for her big adventure
her big adventure consisted of falling asleep as soon as the bus began to roll
parker was thrilled to watch the welcome video.
and pretty soon we were exiting the freeway and i started to see some familiar sights.
the time of day made for some uncomfortable sitting to get this shot, as i had to sit and slouch down with my mid back pretty much on the bottom coushin of the seat since the sun visor was down so far...but still turned out pretty good. and soon enough we were rolling under this bad boy.
now for the next surprise...just kidding dear we are not staying at AoA but AKL
just seeing if you guys were awake, or skipping through.
actually we stopped here and let one guy off didnt even have a carry on luggage...must not have been many people going to AKL then for its own bus, so they let him hitch a ride with us.
so now back to our regular route, and we are soon heading into our resort.
and the welcome booth
noelle was mildly impressed with the signage
i have a much better picture later in the trip of the resort sign, but this will do for now.
since we are in the front row, we are the first ones off, and maybe 10 other people get off with us...the driver gets our stowed bags and stroller from under the motorcoach and i turn to find the wife and kids at the little welcome stand on the entrancway.
he had given candi anniversary pins for me and here, seeing as it was our anniversary the day before, and part of the reason we choose the dates. 6 years prior we were arriving at CBR for our honeymoon.
he gave noelle a 1st visit pin, and when asked what parker was celebrating we tried to come up with something clever, but we couldn't so he just gave him a pin that said he could celebrate whatever he wanted.
he was a very nice man and a great greeter for the resort.
just past his stand was a few easels set up for kids to do drawings on of characters and enter them into the drawing of the day...we never got around to going back to do this.
his stand also had little paint cans of paint puzzles the ids could help him work on, as well as pick out there very own puzzle to take home with them free of charge...parker passed up his favorit blue color and picked out a red...he would here nothing of us putting the puzzle in our bag or carrying it for him. he didnt put it down or even let us see it until we got to our room...he loved that thing, and was very proud to now own it.
we then headed inside to check in and see the rest of the resort.
well nuts, i didnt mean to not get this chapter through check in, but im at the image limit for now...so will have to do the next update tomorrow of the picture tour to our rooms, but at least you got to see some of the resort.
from time to time this trip, i will have some sound bites, or questions i asked parker during our trip...
"parker, what did you feel when we told you we were going to disney today?"
"happy"
"What did you think about the bus?"
"good"
i didnt say it was prize journalism or in depth conversations, but those were his answers.
