2013 Free Dining Watch

Since I am not going until October 2013, I hope that there will be some form of discounts then. I am glad to hear you all having such nice savings.

As much as I wanted Free Dining, I still managed to get something I believe is better...it's like I got free dining and some money back with the RO discount("Z3K"). Went from a package at CSR and upgraded to AKL....and still managed to spend $110 LESS than the rack rate at CSR.

Here's what I posted in another thread:

Wow - that's awesome but I'm jealous. I've worked the numbers over and over and keep getting at least $2000 more to go from POFQ to AKL (or any other Deluxe). Granted we have 4 people in our party, but still...even with our RO Pin# for 35% off, it doesn't come close to our FD PIN. My kids would have been thrilled to stay at AKL, so I was really tryiny. But, I guess I should just shut up and be happy I got a pin at all!! :cheer2:

Hmmmm. We may need to change this from the 2013 Free Dining Watch to the 2013 Any Discount Is Better Than Nothing Watch!

Seriously!!

I ended up switching us to a split stay with 2 nights at AOA in the Cars Suite with the room only discount and then 5 nights at POP with PSD deal. We're saving money, we're getting dining, and we still get to stay in the Cars Suite, so it's all good. I am bummed there is no FD, not gonna lie. We were perfectly fine with spending what we were going to spend to stay at AOA, but when we had to pay more to get the dining with the PSD deal, that's when I decided it wasn't worth it.

Is the P/S/D deal going to be instead of free dining this year? I am planning for 2/26-3/4 and was going to be in AoA but am now debating b/c I was holding out for free dining but would rather do another deal if that is my only option.

I'm very excited for everyone who is getting to utilize the new discounts!:cool1:

I just wanted to remind you all that there are 2 discounts being run. S/D/P & room only discount. I was working on a couple reservations, for friends, and have found that the room discount has worked out to be a better deal with huge savings....

This is for a standard room at Poly, 8 day base ticket and DDP

Jan 24-31, 2013

Regular price - $5225.72
S/P/D - $4537.55 Savings - $688.17
Room only - $4038.86 Savings - $1186.86

Just wanted to share so that all of you save as much as possible. If you are using a TA they should be checking both offers for you! Good Luck :cheer2:

I finally got in touch with our TA, and neither of the special offers help us out too much. We're doing a split stay -- 4 nights in a 1 bdrm at BLT (only studios are included for the offers), and 3 nights at AoA in a Cars Suite. I think with the room only we save about $140. If we want to use s/p/d, we have to downgrade to a studio at BLT, or move to another hotel. She priced out a 1 bdrm villa at WL, and we save about $700. The problem is with a split stay, we have to do separate base tickets for each hotel, so that adds about $340 to our ticket price?

Free Dining is really the only offer that would have made a serious difference for us and we were really counting on it. Stupid, I know, but I am really bummed. We have a ton of ADRs, so it looks like we'll be hitting up the grocery store for snacks, breakfast foods, etc. to save money that way! I didn't realize there were so many restrictions on how these offers could be used and we're already pretty set on where we are staying for this first trip. We have a baby, so we would love that extraa bedroom, and a little adult time at the end of the day. WL looks awesome, but the extra travel time and weather concerns at the end of January and a boat seem a little iffy. Any chance at all they'd still offer FD on top of these other discounts? Has it ever happened?

I think some people are getting pins in email and mail, so keep a look out for that. I just want to say that I have stayed at both BLT and VWL. We love one bedrooms.. However as much as I love the walk to magic kingdom. The monorail to Epcot is not the best. You have to transfer at TTC up and down ramps. I guess what I am trying to say is I would not rule out VWL. The bus goes from the to MK if it is too cold for the boat. Most of the time the bus ride was quicker than the boat. But sometimes it does pick up at other resorts.
I would save the money and go for a different hotel.
Have a great time :)

This is what worked out for us, as well. Funny, we're only staying 7 nights, but we'll be at the Poly the same time as you. Maybe we'll bump into each other poolside...

FYI: you can call 1-407-560-2428 for any pins that might be assigned to your address. Disney sends out pins randomly but some people don't get them for whatever reason. I called and I had 2 pins. One for free dining until March 7th and the other room discount for 15%to 35% depending on resort till end of May. We are going May 4th so I was able to get 30% off for the cabins. Woo Hoo!! They told me to keep calling because more are on the way!

Good Luck everyone! Let the discounts begin!!!

So, quick question to clarify... If a free dining promo comes out for general public, can I use my RO pin #, and then get the free dining? I currently used my FD pin, but would obviously switch to the other if FD is announced.

The RO discount PLUS free dining would be amazing and allow us to stay where we really really want, which is AKL.

For our party of 3 Jan 2012 with free dining we paid $2515.
With this new promo for the same week Jan 2013 it works out to $2565.

Pretty much the same price for the same thing.

I booked POFQ with the Stay an Play with 1 day park tickets for 2 adults and 2 teenagers Jan 2 - 14 2013 price $3622.26. I called and had a pin for free dining. Changed to the fd package exactly the same dates but with 2 day park tickets. Total price $3059.62. A difference of $562.64. For us free dining is definitely a bigger savings.

Why would you have to buy separate base tickets. You should be able to buy a 7 day park pass to go with your Bay Lake stay. And I would then get room only (and dining if you want it) for both resorts. I don't know the full details but those are my thoughts. But it does stink that you only get a deluxe studio for a choice for either of the offers at BLT.

Unfortunately, you have to choose which discount is best for you. You cannot combine a RO discount and free dining.

But what if we were to book the first half of our trip with FD pin. And book the seconds half under a new rescue with room only pin. I know I would not get free dining for the second part but this way we could get the best of both worlds. I just don't know if one household can book 2 reservations using 2 different pins?!

I posted this question on another board so maybe someone there will know...

Depending upon what they're doing with the reservation, they may need tickets on both. If they have a dining plan on on both they'd have to put tickets on both.

Help....

I NEVER EVER EVER get PINs, and we spend money like crazy at Disney...(we come 3 times a year, every year).

This is the first time we are coming in for Spring Break (March 23, 2013) and I know getting a discount (or free dining) will be slim to none. Does anyone have any reason to think that there may be discounts for spring break?

Anyone out there think they will release free dining for early 2013? Still hopeful we can knock another $500 off of our total.

Right now they have the "play, stay, dine" discount on select days from Jan 2 -March 7. Would that help you?
