Last time we were on DCL they offered 2 for 1 drinks in the afternoon on some days from 2-4pm. Do they still do this? We arent big drinkers, but hey - it helps the budget :)

FYI we are on the Magic in a couple of weeks if that makes a difference.

Yes. We have been offered 2 of 1 drinks on some mornings (bloody mary or mimosa) before 12:00. Then in the afternoons sometimes they would offer 2 for 1 drink of the day.

2 for 1 on CC after 3 pm. Usually Konk Coolers but other drinks have been 2 for 1 also. It is usually whatever they have left over that they don't want to drag back to the ship :thumbsup2

There was a 2 for 1 special almost every night in the Tube on the Fantasy last month and in the afternoon, too! The afternoon drinks were usually the drink of the day, and were decent choices. The evening drinks were not usually "popular" or common bar drinks.

Our last 2 times on CC the 2 for 1 specials were announced at 2 & 2:15 & lasted 1 hour. This was in Feb & June this year. Both times it was ANY drink. I mean ANY. Beer, well drinks, ANY ;) We got the drink if the day - you can't beat 2 drinks for $3.95!!! Even with the gratuity, it's cheap!!!

Oh yes, one random day on the pool deck (we stopped up after one of our days in port; one of the St.s), I ordered the drink of the day & the waitress said, "Well, right now, we are offering 2-for-1 Mai Tais (not the drink of the day)." I want to say it was maybe 2:30-3pm. I of course went for it & gave one to DH 8)

On our Halloween cruise on the Dream last year they had 2 for 1 specials but did NOT on the Magic in May of this year. I kept hoping they would but they did not.

In June on the Magic, they had a happy hour in the afternoon that included the drink of the day and draft beers. Unfortunately for me, I usually do not like fruity drinks, and the drink of the day often seems to be something like that. But my husband enjoyed the beer specials in his refillable mug!

Has anyone recently sailed on the Fantasy and if so were there 2 for 1 offerings? Is the Disney beer stein worth it?

My responses above were for the Fantasy in June. DH got the beer stein several cruises ago but did not break even (& didn't care really).

It was later in the afternoon on CC and the DW wanted a bottle of water, and I was wanting something with a little more malt and barley... I had been hearing the waiters on the adult beach hawking 2-4-1 drinks they were carrying. We didn't want the fruity type drinks, so I walked to the bar. The 2-4-1 was good there, also. Best beverage deal of the trip! 2 Bud Light Limes and 2 bottles of Evian for 8 bucks!

Thanks for the replys.
Looking forward to seeing what they do on the Magic in a few weeks. :D

Is it advertised or do you just have to be in the right place at the right time?

What's the Beer Stein deal? I don't drink beer, but my DH does so it might be something he'd be interested in.

They were listed on the Navigator in the Dining hours area on the back page.

Huh. I didn't notice them listed when we were on the Magic in June, and looking at the Western Magic itineraries that were jost posted (heading there in Nov) I don't see them listed there, either, although the bar hours were. But the bartenders did tell us about the specials when we were in Diversions.

Maybe it changes per itinerary. I noticed them on the Canada Magic Navigators that were posted (Example) and they were on the navigators on my 9/7 Canada cruise.

Wow! You are correct! I was speaking from memory, and I guess I never noticed that it said it, but I just dug out a couple of my navigators and they did indeed mention the specials. But I did look at several of the new Western ones from the Magic out of Galveston and it didn't say it.

I wish I had realized that they were listing the drink specials while we were on the Canadian cruise...the times we took advantage were purely accidental!

If you visit the http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/planning-center/gifts-and-amenities/. Page, scroll Down until you see the Beer Mug Package on sale for $14.95

Carry this Disney Cruise Line-branded beer mug to any onboard bar and get a 22 oz. refill of beer for the price of a 16 oz. size! If you find the mug too heavy to carry while onboard, then take advantage of the beer mug token.

I asked a friend if the Beer Stein was worth it, he wrote the following: by my calculation, if you deduce the price down to the oz, you are looking at roughly $0.23/oz. it's actually 22 oz for the price of 16 so if the goal is to drink to same point where the mug is actually free, you would need to drink 10.63 mugs of the 22 oz to break even. If using the calendar, mid afternoon on Day 2 !!!!!! But you get to keep the mug !!!
