October Exercise Challenge -- Let's get fit together! (34 participants so far!)

Since I didn't have to work today, I walked with my 5:30 AM friends and then again with my 7 AM friends. 6 miles total before 8 AM! My family thinks I'm crazy for getting up so early on my day off, but it was so worth it! Yesterday DH and I got all the apples off the tree since it's supposed to rain today (first time in months!). I counted 10 minutes of that as exercise. Was sitting on the couch last night and noticed my hips were hurting. Figured cuz I'd been sitting there an entire hour! :faint: Then realized it was from all that bending over. DH got up on a ladder, took a hockey stick and knocked down the high ones! Now I have to sort them into ones for applesauce and ones to give to our friends with horses.

Busy day; glad the exercise part is over!

60 min hike in the gorge today before the rains started. Yeah it finally started raining now I can breathe.

103 minutes of running (9 miles) this morning pre-dawn through a beautiful sunrise. It was a brisk 32 degress when I stepped out the front door. I', finding that I really like running in cold weather.

Total for the month now stands at 653/1600

Hoping the legs recover enough by 1PM to get in another taekwondo class today before a true rest day tomorrow.

This morning was the first race of the season for the Special Olympics athletes I've been coaching. We did the Run/Walk for the Buds which benefits the Down Syndrome Association. It was the slowest 5k time I've ever had as I stayed with two of our walkers, but it was so much fun and it was a gorgeous morning!

My new total is 830/1800
 
An hour WERQ class this morning followed by an hour on the treadmill brings me to:

840/2000 :upsidedow

Now I'm off to work on my responses for the Disney Mom's Panel...I made it to round two :cheer2: (I was like a little kid yesterday jumping up and down when I read my email...does that count as exercise?!?). Need lots of pixiedust:
 
2nd week total. 650 minutes!!!! And that was on vacation. :)

I went to two Zumba classes, 3 water aerobics classes, hiked, walked 5+ miles and went horseback riding. Then on Friday I treated myself to a spa massage. :)

What a great new way if life this is. I just booked our Disney cruise for next year and I'm already planning how to incorporate my workout. I'm seeing me running laps topside, on the treadmill overlooking the ocean, doing the Castaway Cay 5k, ooooooo and a spa treatment of course. Lol

I wasn't sure if you meant 650 is your new total or if you had that many additional minutes. If I don't have your total correct in the first post, please let me know. You work hard for those minutes!

So glad you had an active vacation. I was feeling the same way in July - we were at an all-inclusive resort and I went to water aerobics classes and piloxing and we did so much walking at our cliffside resort because our suite was at the top of the cliff and the beach was many "levels" down. It was awesome to feel so active on vacation. Congrats!

As for me, I didn't add in the hours of dancing Saturday night at a concert, but it was great calorie-burning fun!

This morning I did 45 minutes of strength training and 55 minutes on the elliptical, bringing me to 930/1800.
