TUT TUT...It Looks Like RAIN! A Nikki and Tom August Adventure! BABY PIC pg. 23!!! :)

To top it all off, my sister finally had her new baby Thursday morning - the morning of Back To School Night!!

Hey Nikki :wave2: - stepping out of lurking to say that my sister had her baby on Thursday morning too! My nephew was born via emergency c-section, but everyone's happy and healthy :littleangel: He's the first on our side of the family, so he's going to be spoiled rotten :cool1:

Congratulations on being an Auntie again :thumbsup2

Congrats on your new niece Nikki!!! :goodvibes Hopefully life gets a little smoother for you this week!

Hi Nikki! Just wanted to let you know that I'm following along. I also just finished your trip report from your Sep/Oct 2011 trip as we are doing MNSSHP and Food & Wine in a little over two weeks and I wanted to see some pics! What a great trip report. I usually do WDW w/ just DH as well and we love our drinks around the WS, I'm especially looking forward to getting to sample all of the offerings during Food and Wine.

Just wanted to introduce myself and not be a lurker! Congrats on your new baby niece!

I'm not sure of her finances but if the formula is super expensive she may want to consider breastfeeding or at least pumping. That choice is always hers though!

I think it is something I would love as well but I just don't have the connections for it! I can't even get my friends to ask for help in their planning now. Then they come back and they go... We should have talked to you first!! Silly people!

I think they are just going to try to deal with the expenses of the formula. We'll all help her out of course!

Congratulations to you and your family on little Abby! :littleangel:

Thanks!!! We love her already!

How funny!!! Glad everyone is happy and healthy. I'm sure it was scary. Oh, trust me, he's going to be so spoiled rotten, as is my sister's first baby who was also the first on my side of the family!

Congrats on your new niece Nikki!!! :goodvibes Hopefully life gets a little smoother for you this week!

Hey!! Yay! I'm so glad you are reading along. And so very jealous tha tyou and your DH will be at Food and Wine and MNSSHP in a few weeks. It really is such an amazing time of year with all those events going on. I hope you guys have an amazing time!!

I am finally caught back up. That Dumbo picture..well all of them are awsome!
Great colors. I rode the one that was up in March, but we never went back at night to see it lit up. I must do it this time around.

I am glad Abby is doing better (that's my niece's name too). I don't think breast feeding would help. I had a friend who breastfed her 1st child and she had the same issues and she had to go on a the super expensive formula too. It's totally different and 99% of the time, breastmilk wouldn't help. The allergies are to milk basically and forumula milk is the same as breast milk in the allergy dept. That special stuff is nasty, but helps so many kids. I remember it smelling gross back then...does it still smell extra gross? :rotfl:

Hey Jen! Glad you're all caught up. Thanks for the compliment on the Dumbo photos. It really is just so beautiful and was very easy to photograph.

And thanks for the positive thoughts and advice about Abby. She's doing way better and is absolutely perfect. :)

I feel like this trip report BLOWS! I'm halfway through the trip and only on page 10? Really? Must be boring. But I will muster on.....

Day 5 - August 20 2012

We had a busy busy four days, just as planned, so I planned for the 5th day to be very relaxing. Sleeping in, maybe playing mini-golf, just going to Epcot for dinner and then over to DHS for hours of EMH.

Well things didn't go accordingly to plan...

First of all, there is not such thing as "sleeping in" in my world. Tom had tried to check out the Lego store when we were in DTD a few nights before but it just absolute madness in most of the stores there at night. So we decided we'd let Brianne sleep in and Tom and I would go to DTD first thing.

Oh. My. GOSH. What a difference! DTD is absolutely delightful in the morning! The weather is great, it's so quiet and is really so relaxing. Nothing like the way it is at night.

So we decided the first thing we wanted to do was get breakfast! We headed to Wolfgang Puck Express.

IMG_1866.jpg

We went in and no one was in there! We ordered coffee (a must!) and a belguim waffle to split - and a side of bacon - and a side of potatoes.

If there's ever a choice to sit inside or outside, I usually choose outside so we went out to wait for our food.

Lamp from our table...

Tom waiting for our food...

DSC_0270.jpg

Finally it arrived and he was ready to dig in!

DSC_0276.jpg

But not before we take pictures!

DSC_0274.jpg

Oh man, this was the most delicious breakfast ever! I ate way too much bacon. You have to be careful with bacon because it's just too good! :lmao:

Full and satisfied, we headed over to the practically empty Lego store, where Tom spent quite some time.

While he was there, I took some pics....

Just as Tom was checking out, Bri called and said she was heading to the bus stop - where should we meet us. Uhhhh, we're actually on our way back! So she hung back and we headed to the bus stop.

IMG_1872.jpg

Now the plan was to go to Epcot for our 6pm ADR but at this point it was like 11am and we were all ready to just GO there! I had NOT planned for this to be an Epcot day at all, other than just dinner, but it turned out to be an EPIC Epcot day!!

IMG_1873.jpg

DSC_0295.jpg

This was the day that I decided I had enough of not taking enough picture and we're going to take pictures of everything!

Take my picture going into Epcot!

DSC_0299.jpg

Now let me get you!

DSC_0300.jpg

Ponchos were always with us in the MWT bag!

DSC_0301.jpg

DSC_0302.jpg

Now the great thing about entering Epcot around noon is that the security lines were COMPLETELY empty! So we had a little fun with the woman working to check bags. She was fantastic! I don't at all remember how this all went down but before I knew it, I was wearing the woman's hat and pretending that I was the bag checker! Love it!

DSC_0303.jpg

DSC_0304.jpg

DSC_0305.jpg

I made it in first and just had to take a pic of Tom entering. I don't know why I feel the need to always do this!

DSC_0306.jpg

Loving your TR! It's not boring!!!!

I completely agree with you...Downtown Disney is surprisingly peaceful in the morning. It's so nice to hangout and stroll around without having to dodge the crowds!

Looking forward to more!

Day 5 cont.

Oh Epcot - how we love you so!

DSC_0307.jpg

DSC_0309.jpg

Brianne hadn't ridden Spaceship Earth yet so I suggested she and Tom go ride that while I go get FPs for Soarin'.

IMG_1874.jpg

DSC_0310.jpg

After I got the FPs, I thought they must still be on SE so I went to take a solo ride on Nemo.

IMG_1876.jpg

We agreed to meet at Club Cool and by the time I made it there, I was too late - Bri had already tasted the Beverly and I missed snapping a pic of her grossed out Beverly face. Oh well.

So what is there to do now that we have our Soarin' FPs? Go to World Showcase, of course!!!

And what's the FIRST thing we do when we go to World Showcase?? You guess it!

DSC_0313.jpg

We were all hungry for a snack so we went to the Cantina. Tom got churros and Bri got nachos.

DSC_0314.jpg

DSC_0315.jpg

Bri really liked the Mexican soda from Club Cool and lo and behold, they had it at the Cantina!

DSC_0316.jpg

DSC_0317.jpg

We headed clockwise, as per usual, but were stopped short in China for the bridge to open.

DSC_0318.jpg

DSC_0319.jpg

IMG_1881.jpg

Since we had some time to kill, I decided my margarita was dangerously low and doubled back to Mexico to refuel.....

On the way, I snapped a pic of the Chinese performers ready to go on. I'd love to stop and watch but I need my drink!

DSC_0321.jpg

When I got there, I was already one drink down and starting to feel it. Right after I ordered my second mango (which is pretty much exclusively the flavor I get from this stand) a guy came up and was looking over the menu trying to decide what to order. Now I'm not at all "street" but I swear to you, these words literally came out of my mouth. I turned to him and go...."The mango is the bomb!" Seriously, I have no idea where that came from but I said it with such gusto and confidence that he was like, "Oh yeah? I'll have a mango then!" I laughed at myself the whole walk back past China to the bridge. What is wrong with me?

As we came around the corner heading into Germany, I noticed the "walls" up. They were already preparing for Food and Wine Festival.

DSC_0322.jpg

Next up - pretzel and beer!

DSC_0323.jpg

Making our way to Japan, we stumbled upon the candy lady - I can't recall her name and am too lazy to look it up. It starts with an M. Anyway, if you ever see her outside, definitely stop and watch. She's amazing and hilarious!

DSC_0325.jpg

DSC_0327.jpg

Inside the store, Tom tried on some hats...

DSC_0332.jpg

IMG_1882.jpg

And then we made our way to Morocco. So I've now had two margaritas and we were just in time for a Moroccorita.

DSC_0340.jpg

IMG_1884.jpg

IMG_1886.jpg

IMG_1885.jpg

About a few sips in to the Moroccorita, it hit me. Almost like Ace Venture in When Nature Calls when he gets his by that third dart........ "three acidy drinks is too much!"

Not that I was "drunk" or going to be sick....it was just so freaking hot out and I was probably dehydrated and I just needed to rest for a few minutes.

This is when I found a wonderful, secret happy place!!!

To be continued.....

I love reading your TR! I think everyone is just really busy with the first month of the school year. That, or they don't know what they are missing!

I've never tried a morning at DTD. I doubt I could drag Ron there in the morning, but maybe I can do a little solo shopping...

STOP. POSTING. FOOD. PICTURES! You're making me HUNGRY! popcorn:: j/k, you can keep posting them. I'll just have to find a snack for myself. :rotfl:

I love your picture taking mood!

ETA. Forgot to say congratulations on the birth of your niece. :)

Isn't DTD wonderful in the morning? I think that's one of those hidden gems that people don't think about doing.

Mel, if you ever get the chance to do DTD in the morning, you won't be disappointed!

Yeah halfway through the trip and it was time to just take pictures nonstop! There's soooo much more coming - and sorry, but lots more of food too! :rotfl2:

Hi Nikki.. yay for Epic Epcot Day!!! I now have a strange urge to whip up random fruity margaritas and get tipsy :stir: Isn't amazing what can come out of your mouth after you've had a few?? I'm totally enjoying this TR and it certainly does not blow :goodvibes -Amanda

Haha, I love your TR's! I've noticed there aren't as many "regulars" on the TR boards lately, everyone must be busy! I swear, there are like 8 people reading my PTR right now. (Unless maybe it's horribly boring, I don't know!) Hope you keep up with it! :thumbsup2

I love DTD in the morning! It's fun at night, but it's nice when not many people are there!

Yay, an unexpected Epcot day, I LOVE those! :cool1: You always make me want to try a margarita from the stand outside! I'm obsessed with the margaritas from La Cava, but one day I'll try your mango 'rita! :thumbsup2

This TR - and none of your TR's - are boring! Can't wait to see what the happy place is!!!

Well thank you! Happy place coming soon!

I'm following along. I've been terrible at responding. I think it's the zero trips I have planned has me down!
Congrats on niece #2!

Oh my that breakfast looks amazing!!! Might have to try that for breakkie one time!

Congrats to your sister, your new niece looks gorgeous!

Congratulations on your new niece. I've been seeing her pictures on FB and she's just beautiful.

Girl, you're not boring, don't worry!

You're absolutely right, DTD is the best in the morning! There aren't tons of people everywhere and you can actually enjoy it, instead of having to elbow the idiots. :rotfl2:

Mmmm, WPE for breakfast. Excellent choice.

That's awesome that all of a sudden you were wearing the security guards hat. That picture will go down in history. :lmao:

Oh no, missing a Beverly face? That stinks. Timing is everything!

Of course you get a 'rita! Duh.

Tom should definitely get the multi-colored Domo hat....

Ooohh, a wonderful secret happy place? Do tell. :rotfl:

:offtopic:

Ok, I'm flabbergasted that I did this - but I booked a quick trip just two weeks out!!!! :hyper: DH is going out of state for 10 days for a job and I jokingly asked if I could take the kids on a long weekend trip. Well, turns out that Southwest was offering ridiculously cheap flights and I could afford to use points and get all 3 of us free flights! And because I travel so much for work, I also have a free car rental and am using one of my free night's at Hilton Bonnet Creek. I also have an AP and got a good rate at the Poly. So I just have to buy the kids some tickets and, well - WOW!!! It will be quick but it is also a great deal.

Oh, the kids don't know!!!

Back to regular programming... :goodvibes
