We Need a Redo! A Fall 2012 PTR: NEW 11/11 Trip Report Link!

I love your VB hipster, I have a makeup case in that pattern! I actually got one of the new patterns for my hipster, I forget what it's called, but I LOVE it! It's really colorful! :thumbsup2

I'm jealous that you get to ride the Little Mermaid. :( I really hope they do a soft opening when I'm there at some point. I need to schedule MK later in the week I think, so I can see if I can get in there! :rotfl:

I am so glad you got tickets, because I got waitlisted!! haha, i am sooo sad!!!! I kept refreshing the page over and over and over and finally I saw the link. When I clicked on the link nothing said it was waitlisted, so I picked Enchanted Tales with Belle at 5pm , well that must have been the most popular option because it said i was waitlisted!!!!:confused3 I am soo sad!!! I should have went with my initial instinct and picked Ariel.

Who knows, maybe the waitlist will come through. I guess I will just have to live vicariously through everyone else.

When I finally saw the purchase tickets link, the page showed that there were two sessions with a wait list, both were Enchanted Tales with Belle. Hopefully the wait list will come through, if not, if you are in MK at that time I think it'd be worth a shot to see if they'd let you in anyway.

I saw it over on your TR! Very cute and perfect for Disney!!!

I'm excited to see the restaurant! I'm actually just excited in general about the whole experience, I hope it's going to be one of our best memories from the trip!

Yeah I will try!! When I got to that page, nothing said it had a wait list! That was why I was soo excited!! If I would have known that Belle had the wait list I would have done Ariel. That was my original thought but then I decided to Belle because it was more of an experience! I wish I would have stuck with my gut!!!

Ok seriously, November + Pop Century? Two of my very favourites. I'll be a little green eyed over here, but I am definitely in for the remainder of this report!

I think that I get a little green with envy every time someone goes to Disney World and it's not me! :rotfl:

So glad that you're sticking around! :)

3 WEEKS! 21 DAYS! I'm getting SO excited; like to the point of no return. I get giddy thinking about walking in Liberty Square to Haunted Mansion or laughing through our ride(s) on Space Mountain. I get full just thinking about all of the delicious eats we'll soon be enjoying at Epcot for Food & Wine. Aren't there just some things about Disney that give you the good kind of butterflies in your stomach? Ahhh.....I can't wait to be in my happy place!

Speaking of food, Greg and I have made our list of things we'd like to try for Food & Wine. I'll admit it, there's an AWFUL lot of alcoholic beverages on this list and I don't see myself trying even half. The sticker shock of the alcohol prices in WDW is enough to make me think twice. Pair that with my medicine that may not have the best relationship with alcohol. I've drank 1-2 drinks at a time and been fine but I don't trust it to go any further than that. :offtopic: Anyway, here are our selections:

But your list looks great, I hope you get to sample all of it!

I have a feeling that we won't be getting to everything on that list, but that's okay. That's what next year is for! :rotfl:

I'm not big on beer, either. In fact, if you look at the list a little more closely, everything with the R is something that I would like to try and everything with the G are things that Greg would like to try and the B is for both of us. The only beer that I have for both of us is the Sam Adams Cherry, which I recently read on someone's PTR that it isn't very good. There's a seasonal blueberry beer at a restaurant & brewery a couple of towns over that is phenomenal and I am not a beer drinker in the slightest, so I have to give the fruit beer a try! :)

19 Days to Go!

Today was my only day off this week and oh boy, was I productive!

I'm so happy that it's fall b/c I get in the cooking mood. Today was the second afternoon in the past few weeks that I've spent cooking meals and snacks for the week. It saves so much time on the week nights!

I found a recipe for homemade granola bars on Pinterest (anyone else just as Pinterest-crazed as I am???) and with a few tweaks to the recipe, I made it my own. They're pretty good; definitely more natural tasting than anything you'd find in the store.

Also, thanks to Pinterest (See, I told you!), I found the perfect gift to give to my coworkers at the libraries:

The tutorial on Pinterest was just to make the flower but I made it into a pen quite easily using floral tape and ribbon.

For dessert this evening, I went out on a limb and found the recipe for Ohana's bread pudding on AllEars.net and attempted to make it:

Step 1: Make the dough and let it rise until it's doubled in size.

IMG_10251.jpg

Step 2: Roll the dough out and then spread a coconut, crushed pineapple, and sugar mixture onto the bread.

Step 3: Fold the bread into itself, cut into pieces and put in a greased pan.

Once the bread is baked and it has cooled, break it into medium sized pieces and toast it in the oven. Then pour the bread pudding base over the bread in a cake pan and bake for about an hour.

Step 4: Make the banana foster sauce (aka liquid heaven).

Step 5: Enjoy!

If there's anything I learned, it's that it's really the sauce that I love from the dessert. The bread tasted similar to what you get at the restaurant but it wasn't the same. I'd make the sauce again in a heartbeat. So easy and SO SO SO good!!!

Yay you are going to be in Disney so soon! It's 24 days for me, I can't believe it, yet it seems so far away! What else have you been doing in preparation? That bread pudding looks yummy, I have recently become obsessed with bread pudding and I think the dis is partially to blame!

Oh my gosh!!! Those homemade bars look sooo good!!!!!! So does the bread pudding!!! The fosters sauce looks exactly like at 'Ohana! Good job, I am jealous!!!!

I feel like it's so close yet so far away. I'm really busy with work lately and I want to get everything done before the trip so I don't have to worry about it.

I really want to try the bread pudding at Raglan Road, but we'll see!

They are sooo good and they really fill you up. I think it's the ground flax that I added.

The sauce was delicious. I'd totally make it again! :)

I shall title this post Itinerary-changeitis.

Yup, you read that right.

Here I go, 15 days before the trip, that lull time where it's really too early to pack (I already have our toiletries organized) but you're getting antsy. What's a girl to do?

Tear apart our itinerary, that's what!

I know what you're thinking. Well, at least it's what I'm thinking. But, you spent all that time on those itinerary cards!

I know, I KNOW!

I don't know what it is or why I need to change it. I am really ready just to throw the whole thing out the window and not worry about having an itinerary. How does that sound? That sounds like a horror movie waiting to happen, no? I can see the title now, 'The Ultimate Disney Planner Goes Planless!' Wouldn't that be something? Intriguing, no?

What do you think???

Before you fall off your chair, we all know that us DISers have got park touring down. We know what we're doing. Plus, wouldn't it make my trip report that much more exciting???

Actually, come to think of it, I do have a plan. The no plan, plan!

I LIKE IT! (No I haven't gone delusional.)

Greg has been working so hard lately (he's finally up for a promotion but needs to master two more tasks before the end of the year). I work two jobs and I just applied to graduate school. We're struggling with infertility and that right there is enough stress for both of us. I feel like if there's anything that we need it's a relaxing vacation. One that we get to do what we want when we want. I'm complete Type A. If we have a plan, we are going to follow that plan. Therefore, there shall be no plan. There I said it.

Yes, I will keep the ADR's, but that doesn't mean that won't change. You also better bet your bottom dollar that we will be touring the New Fantasyland. There will be Food & Wine Fest and Hallowishes. As far as the rest of the trip? I'm not sure. What I'm sure of is that I have a feeling this will be our best trip yet! :)

YUM I really need to try to make the bread pudding from 'Ohana someday...I've always been a little nervous to try to make it, because you have to light that sauce on fire! I don't know how to do that! I can't wait to eat the real thing in a few weeks!!!

How can you be at 15 days already and I'm at 22??? It's NOT FAIIIRRR!!! :(

Ok I'm being a bit dramatic, but I feel like the last few weeks are taking their sweet time, you know? I'm SO ready to go.

I like the no-plan plan. :thumbsup2 I'm basically going to have an idea of where I'd like to be each day, make sure we eat at our favorite restaurants, and have lots of Food and Wine time, but other than that, if we want to change something, I'm fine with it! I have a feeling this is going to be one of our best trips too!!! :dance3:

That's a good way to do it, the no plan plan! We usually have a very vague outline of a plan but mostly go planless. I hope it works for you and you get your relaxing vacation you need!

12 days to go! I was a little worried but it was a pretty contained fire and it was FUN! :) It satisfied my craving and I'm not too sad about not eating at 'Ohana this trip.

I've been trying to hard to get everything for work done but I'm swamped. I have a feeling my trip will be here before I know it b/c I'm so focused on work!

I already feel better that I'm not going to go with daily plans. Of course, I have an idea in mind of what I think we'd like to do but I'm happy to change it.

I hope so too! :) I know one thing for sure, we'll definitely be enjoying some good eats! :)

Preparing for the trip; what still needs to be done:

-Packing list (I will have this completed by packing day.)
-Call Pop directly to submit room & building request (Monday before trip)
-Pack (Sunday before trip)
-Check-in for flight to MCO + print boarding pass (Wednesday before trip)
-Shop for basic groceries for when we return (Sunday before trip)
-Get my nails done (Tuesday before trip)
-Print package, flight and ADR confirmation number document (Saturday before trip)
-Empty SD card of pictures + purchase extra batteries (Greg will do)
-Email Greg’s aunt to confirm breakfast (This week)
-Clean house (Tuesday before trip)

If I plan on calling the resort directly to submit my room request, do you think that I should still do online check-in? I’m afraid if I do, then they would have already assigned our room to us. I did submit a room & building request when we called to book our trip, so that should be on file.

P.S. Tuesday starts single-digit dancing for us! Wahoo!
